Peggy Taylor

Peggy H. Taylor, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She is an American Board of Obstetrician and Gynecologist certified physician with over 30 years experience as well as a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  Dr. Taylor attended Texas A&M University graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology (major) and physics (minor).  She also obtained a master’s Degree in biology from Sam Houston State University. 

Dr. Taylor received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston.  She returned to her hometown of Galveston, Texas, to complete her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. 

Dr. Taylor was in private practice in the Clear Lake area for thirty years and was the medical director of Women, MD.  During her time in practice she delivered over 10,000 babies including many set of twins and triplets.  She transitioned to Houston Methodist from private practice for her last three years.

Dr. Taylor served on Aetna’s National Credentialing and Performance Committee for over two decades.  She also served on HCA – Clear Lake Peer Review and Gyn Executive Committees.  Dr. Taylor was a clinical preceptor for medical students and nurse practitioner students from the University of Texas Medical Branch, University of Texas Health Science Center Houston and Frontier Nursing University. 

Dr. Taylor is married, has three daughter and five grandchildren.  She enjoys biking, kayaking and fishing.
