GCJD Donations

Donation Information:

Support the Global Center. Help us make a difference.

The Global Center for Journalism and Democracy is dedicated to promoting a free and vibrant press. Through professional journalism training, enhancing industry and press relations, and educating our next generation of thought leaders, we are striving to make a difference at home and around the world. Help further our cause by supporting the Global Center.

Your donation can go to general operating funds, or you can choose to give to specific projects or programs, as indicated below. Every penny helps, and donations are tax deductible! If you contribute at least $500 towards any of these efforts, you will be publicly recognized as a sponsor in all our communications.

STUDENT TRAVEL

Donations in this area will help us take students with us on overseas programs. Travel is an amazing educational tool that helps students apply what they've learned in the classroom to real world situations. As most SHSU students have never traveled outside the United States, your contribution will offer them an opportunity they might not otherwise receive.

JOURNALISM WORKSHOPS

Your financial support will help us reach the widest number of journalists both in the United States and abroad. Our goal is to help make journalists smarter about the issues they cover so that citizens can be better informed.

ACTIVIST/POLITICAL PARTY TRAINING

As nascent democracies continue to develop around the world, various groups need help understanding what an independent press is, and how to form transparent relationships with journalists. GCJD is non-partisan and does NOT promote political agendas.

GUEST SPEAKERS/EVENTS

We bring guests from all over the world to Huntsville and The Woodlands campus to enlighten our students, faculty, staff and community. Your support will help us host events to discuss important issues that impact our daily lives.

JOURNALISM EDUCATION

Help GCJD host programs for High School journalism teachers and advisors in the United States who are educating our next generation of journalists.
