As an educator or other career professional who works with individuals with disabilities, you make a difference every day. Yet, you want to accomplish more by furthering your own education. At Sam Houston State University (SHSU), we have been preparing people to be teacher leaders since 1879.
SHSU has two options for you to further your education in the area of special education transition.
The knowledge and skills gained from these programs will allow you to:
Research, implement, and analyze evidence-based practices and predictors for positive, post-school outcomes
Use valid, reliable, and culturally-relevant transition assessment practices to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning and progress toward postsecondary goals
Use supervisory skills, such as mentoring, conflict resolution, and coordination of transition personnel, services, and programs to support improvement and compliance
