Rachel Mary Prather Allen Family and Consumer Sciences Endowed Scholarship — Established by Dr. Mattie Bea Medford in March 2006 in honor of her sister, Rachel Mary Prather Allen, an alumna of the department, who graduated in 1937. Recipients must be a full-time junior, senior or graduate student majoring in one of the programs in Family and Consumer Sciences and demonstrate financial need. GPA requirement 3.0 overall and in their major.

Family and Consumer Sciences Memorial Scholarship — established in July 1975 to enable students to further their education in Family and Consumer Sciences.  Recipients are chosen by the Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarship Selection Committee.  Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester and junior standing.  Recipients must demonstrate good character.

Margie Crawford Hardy Family & Consumer Sciences Scholarship -  Recipient must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good standing; majoring in family and consumer sciences; have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 60 undergraduate hours in the semester the scholarship is to be disbursed.  GPA of 3.00 is required. 

Keener Family Scholarship in Family and Consumer Sciences — established by Tina and David Keener in 2010.  Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in a program with Family and Consumer Sciences with at least 64 hours credit and having a minimum overall GPA of 3.3.

Lynch Family Endowed Scholarship — established in September 1983 by General and Mrs. William R. Lynch, Jr., to provide one or more scholarships to undergraduate students enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester, junior standing, GPA of 3.0 in major and overall, and in good standing at Sam Houston State University furthering their education in Family and Consumer Sciences.  Recipients will be selected by the Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarship Committee.

Lena Campbell Mathis Endowed Scholarship - established June 2017, in memory of Lena Winship (Campbell) Mathis. A recipient must (1) be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a minimum of 6 hours; (2) in good standing and enrolled at Sam Houston State University; (3) have declared a major or minor in Food Science and Nutrition; and (4) have and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students that wish to obtain a teacher certification in secondary education but is not necessary.

Wiley G. and Marian Boyd McDonald Endowed Scholarship  — established by Mr. and Mrs. McDonald as an annual scholarship for selected students from Family and Consumer Sciences and first awarded in the spring 1995.  Students must have completed at least two full years at SHSU; be classified as a junior or senior; be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours per semester; be maintaining satisfactory academic progress according to the normal standards of the University; be a native-born citizen of the United States; and demonstrate the need for financial assistance.

Mattie Bea Prather Medford Family and Consumer Sciences Endowed Scholarship — established by Dr. Eulalia Schmolder and Carl Schmolder in October 1992, in honor of Dr. Mattie Bea Medford, now retired, who enjoyed a long and fruitful career as a Home Economics professor and former department chair at Sam Houston State. This scholarship is designated to deserving students who have met the required criteria and who are enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester as Family and Consumer Sciences majors.  Eulalia Schmolder is also a retired Sam Houston State University faculty member who taught at SHSU for six years, where she was associated with Dr. Medford in the Home Economics Department.  Recipients shall be third-year FCS students who have earned at least a “B” average; citizenship and potential leadership shall be considered in the selection process.

Elmadel Driscoll Robinson Home Economics Scholarship —  established in January 1990 by J.S. Robinson and John Robinson to enable deserving students to attend SHSU as a Family and Consumer Sciences major.  Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester and be a third-year FCS major who has earned at least a 3.0 average; citizenship and potential leadership shall be considered in selection process. 

Fray Stallings Wells Scholarship  —  established in December 1985 by J. Roy Wells in memory of Fray S. Wells for undergraduate students enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences.  A GPA of 2.85 is required.  Awards are made on an annual basis but are renewable.  The selection of the recipient shall be based on character, scholarship, potential in FCS and financial need.   The recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours per semester and a resident of Texas eligible to pay resident tuition.  Priority given to FCS certification majors then Fashion Merchandising majors.
