COHS Summer Camp
2023 COHS Summer Camp
The College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) is pleased to offer its inaugural Health Sciences Summer Camp, a 2-day educational camp for junior and senior high school students interested in health sciences and related fields. Participants will enjoy hands-on and engaging learning experiences, interact with professionals from a variety of disciplines, and spend time with SHSU students. The camp is designed to expose students to a diverse set of professions throughout the health sciences and related fields.
The camp will be offered July 17-18, 2023. Faculty across the four academic units in the SHSU College of Health Sciences (Human Sciences, Kinesiology, Nursing, and Public Health) will lead the academic components of the 2-day summer camp. Students will also tour the campus and experience “college life” through staying in the residence halls, eating on campus, and enjoying some of the social and recreational activities available on campus. During the camp, students will also travel by charter bus to The Woodlands Center campus, which is home to the SHSU School of Nursing.
There is no fee for the SHSU Health Sciences Summer Camp for the inaugural year. All amenities (meals, snacks, housing, transportation, social/recreational activities) are sponsored by the SHSU College of Health Sciences.
