ACEN Accreditation
the Board of Regents authorized the Department of Nursing to become an official School of Nursing in the College of Health Sciences.

ACEN Accreditation
In August, 2013, The Department of Nursing became an accredited nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN formerly NLNAC).
Texas Board of Nursing Approval
The Texas Board of Nursing conducted a site visit in March, 2013. Successful outcome with recommendation for full approval.
First Graduating Class
The first graduating class from the School of Nursing consisted of 21 students, December, 2012. Students earned a 95% pass rate on NCLEX.
The Board of Regents authorized the Nursing program to become an official Department of Nursing in the College of Sciences.
