Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Program Overview

The demand for skilled nurses is greater than ever. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program prepares students to enter the fast-growing health care field through coursework that is both theoretical and practical in a wide variety of clinical settings. Graduates of the program are prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN provides the professional credentials to practice as an entry-level registered nurse.

Students accepted into the School of Nursing will attend SHSU-The Woodlands Center for all lab and classroom courses. Only pre-nursing classes will be held on SHSU Main Campus in Huntsville, Texas. The SHSU School of Nursing facilities includes increased study space, clinical labs and classrooms, and is located in close proximity of five major healthcare systems; Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, CHI St. Luke’s Health - Lakeside Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital - The Woodlands and M.D. Anderson The Woodlands.
