Public Information Act and Parents’ Rights
The SHSU Charter School complies with the Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552). This law gives parents and the public the right to access certain school records and information.Your Rights Under the Public Information Act
- You have the right to request access to existing public records maintained by the school.
- Requests must be made in writing and should clearly describe the information you seek.
- The school is not required to create new documents or answer questions under this law.
How to Submit a Request
All Public Information Act requests for SHSU Charter School are processed through Sam Houston State University’s Office of General Counsel. Please use the official SHSU Open Records page to submit your request:
