The Survey of Assessment Culture has been conducted since 2002 in some format. However, beginning in 2010, a nation-wide, annual survey was developed and refined in following years through pilot studies and continued administrations. Since 2011, the Survey of Assessment Culture has served as a positive influence on the national discussion about the concept of an institutional culture of assessment, what it looks like, why it exists, and how it changes.
