Faculty Mentoring Workshop

Monday, June 3rd, 8am-4pm

Walker County Education Center (near SHSU campus in Huntsville)

We are excited to bring the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research from UW-Madison to campus on Monday, June 3rd, 2024, to provide top-notch mentorship training to SHSU Faculty. The curricula, called Entering Mentoring, is for mentors of research trainees. It was originally developed for mentors across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) disciplines at different career stages, working with undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. Not only will it improve mentorship on campus, this training is also very useful for documenting mentorship ability for NIH, NSF, and other grant applications. We have $200 stipends to provide to faculty that attend the training.
