Apply for Admission
To apply, submit the following materials:
- Graduate Admissions Application (submitted online through ApplyTexas)
- Application Fee
- An official transcript from your baccalaureate
- Additional documentation as required for your specific program. See our Degree Programs to determine if any additional documentation is required for your program of interest.
- After your application is received, you may upload your supplemental materials online at the SHSU Self Service Center. It may take up to 48 hours for your application information to become visible on your account.

The Office of Admissions – Graduate Programs has application deadlines of August 1 for Fall, December 1 for Spring, and May 15 for Summer. All applicants should view their program of interest for program specific deadlines.
Check Your Application Status Online
You can check your application status and upload outstanding supplemental materials online. If you haven't already, create an account at the SHSU Self Service Center. It may take up to 48 hours for your application information to become visible on your account. You may also contact the Office of Admissions for assistance with your application.

Financial Aid Option
Financial assistance is available to graduate students, in the form of scholarships, assistantships, and loans. Visit the Financial Aid Office website for resources and instructions on how to obtain financial assistance at Sam Houston State University.
