Teacher assisting student in class

The Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher Certification program at SHSU provides students with comprehensive preparation for teaching secondary FCS courses, entering the AgriLife Extension Service profession, and working in related careers with agencies, businesses, government, and industry.  The combination of undergraduate FCS courses, university core classes, and education courses focus on the knowledge and skills needed for FCS education-related careers.  Professionals in the field impact the lives of individuals and families in many ways on a regular basis.
