Assistant Director - Megan Richardson, MPH, CPH
A native of North Carolina, Megan received her B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Master of Public Health from East Carolina University before moving to Texas to join the Office of Health Promotion team in 2016. As the Assistant Director, Megan works to integrate a culture of health and wellness at SHSU by overseeing educational and programmatic efforts. Health Education Specialist – Brittani Clarkson, MPH, CHES
Brittani Clarkson grew up in San Antonio, TX with her parents and 8 siblings. She received her B.S. in Health Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) her Master of Public Health from Liberty University. Brittani loves to spend her free time traveling, playing with her son, hiking with her husband, or just relaxing on the couch with a good book. Brittani is extremely excited to be part of the Health Promotion team and is looking forward to using her knowledge and experience to better serve and educate the students of SHSU. Health Promotion Specialist - Shannon Kavish, MPH, CPH

Shannon grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with her parents and older brother. She received both her B.S. in Public Health (2016) and Master of Public Health, Epidemiology (2017) from Saint Louis University before moving to Texas in the summer of 2017. As the Health Promotion Specialist, Shannon is looking forward to coordinating a variety of events on the SHSU campus to help promote a healthy lifestyle for all students. Graduate Assistant – Melissa Briones, B.A.
Melissa grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV), a region in Texas separated from Mexico by the Rio Grande River, where she completed a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Texas-RGV. She is a student in the Clinical Psychology M.A. program. Her goals while at SHSU are to promote responsible drinking and bring awareness to students on the immediate effects of drug and alcohol.
