The Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training, and correspondence courses.
You may be an eligible veteran if you have an honorable discharge and meet the requirements:
- Entered active duty for the first time on or after July 1, 1985;
- Had military pay reduced by $100 a month for the first 12 months;
- Served honorably for at least two years.
You may be entitled to receive up to 36 months of education benefits. Generally, benefits are payable for 10 years following your release from active duty.
