Chapter 31 Veterans

Chapter 31 is for Vocational Rehabilitation Students. These students should have the completed VA form 28-1905 (from their Case Manager) sent to the Sam Houston VA Representative.
Requirements and Benefits
The Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program helps veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and keep suitable jobs.
You may qualify for these benefits if you:
- Served on or after September 16, 1940;
- Have service connected disabilities (SCD) rated at least 20 percent disabling by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA);
- Need vocational rehabilitation to overcome an employment limitation.
Services include vocational and personal counseling, education and training, financial aid, job assistance or, if needed, medical and/or dental treatment. Services generally last up to 48 months.
