Director of Leadership Initiatives
Meredith Conrey, Director of Leadership Initiatives, is originally from Houston, and she has over 15 years of experience working in higher education. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication and her master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. Currently, Meredith is a doctoral candidate in the Higher Education Leadership program at SHSU. Prior to working at SHSU, Meredith worked at Texas A&M University in Residence Life, Baylor University in Campus Living & Learning, and she served as an adjunct faculty member at Baylor. Meredith is actively involved in NASPA. She has served as a regional board member, and she co-chaired the 2017 NASPA Region III Summer Symposium. Additionally, Meredith is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. Outside of the office, Meredith enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and traveling.
Associate Director of Leadership Initiatives
Brian Weaver, Associate Director of Leadership Initiatives, is originally from Logansport, Indiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Valparaiso University in 2009 and a master’s degree in Sport Management from Western Illinois University in 2011. Prior to joining Leadership Initiatives, Brian worked in recreational sports at SHSU, Cornell University, and the University of Connecticut. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife Lucy, officiating basketball, going to the movies, and watching just about any sport.
Emily Snider, Program Specialist for Leadership Initiatives, is initially from George West, Texas. She received a bachelor’s degree in Human Geography and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University. Emily began her career shortly after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 2016 by joining the Department of Leadership Initiatives. While not working, Emily enjoys attending concerts with friends and driving to new places in her car, Envy the Edge.
Gabby Sauceda, Program Specialist for Leadership Initiatives, is initially from Angleton, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2018 from Sam Houston State University. In between being a student and joining Leadership Initiatives, Gabby spent a year completing an internship with a local ministry. Outside of the office, Gabby enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending concerts, and cuddling dogs.
