16-13233, Criminal Mischief, 1:47 PM: An officer was dispatched the Bearkat Plaza area (1800 block of Avenue I) in reference to a report of criminal mischief.  Upon arrival, the officer was directed to a non-student individual who was using chalk to write obscenities on the sidewalk.  The male was informed of University policy and asked to stop using colored chalk to mark up the sidewalk.  Information was obtained from the individual and an incident report was completed documenting the incident.

16-13237, Medical Assist, 3:02 PM: An officer was dispatched to the CHSS Building (1900 Avenue I) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-13249, Criminal Trespass, 5:09 PM: Officers were dispatched to the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to an individual who was trespassing at the location.  Upon arrival, the suspect was located and detained.  It was determined that the individual had been previously issued a criminal trespass warning for creating a disturbance at this location.  Once again, today, the individual was inside the location creating a disturbance.  The male was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Criminal Trespass.

16-13163, Driving While Intoxicated, 12:03 AM: While conducting a traffic stop in the 100 block of IH-45 South, the officer determined that the driver was intoxicated.  The driver was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Driving While Intoxicated.

16-13172, Duty Upon Striking, 5:36 AM: An officer responded to the Agriculture Complex (440 IH-45 South) in reference to a report of damaged property.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a complainant who reported that an unknown person drove a vehicle through a metal fence that enclosed the Agriculture Complex.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed.

16-13185, Criminal Trespass Warning, 12:41 PM:  An officer was dispatched to White Hall (2101 Avenue I) to issue a criminal trespass warning to a student who was being evicted from campus housing due to a policy violation.  The student was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU housing units.

16-13131, Sexual Assault, 1:26 AM: An officer responded to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital in reference to a report of a sexual assault.  The officer met with the victim where the initial information was obtained.  Based on the information obtained from the victim, there is no ongoing threat to the University community.  The incident occurred at Sam Houston Village which is located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue.  An offense report was completed and referred for investigation.

16-13053, Failure to Identify, 12:11 AM: While conducting a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver provided a false identity.  The driver stated that he provided a false identity since he had warrants out for his arrest.  The driver was arrested and charged with Failure to Identify and Possession of Marijuana.

16-13068, Theft, 9:48 AM: An officer met with a complainant from a contracted cleaning service who reported that a set a keys were missing from the work place.  Information was obtained and an incident report was completed.

16-13068, Assault by Threat, 4:23 PM: An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a verbal threat.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who reported she was threatened by another female.  Information was obtained and a criminal offense report was completed.

16-13095, Sexual Assault, 10:34 PM:  An officer was responded to Lone Star Hall (910 Bearkat Boulevard) in reference to a report of sexual misconduct.  An officer arrived and met with the victim where initial information was obtained.  At this time, based on the information provided by the complainant, there is no ongoing threat to the University community.  An offense report was completed and referred for investigation.

16-12970, Duty Upon Striking, 8:49 AM: An officer was dispatched to a university parking area in the 1300 block of 17th Street where the complainant reported that their legally parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle.  The officer noted damage to the left rear portion of the vehicle had damage.  An offense report was completed.

16-12972, Damaged Vehicle, 9:23 AM: An officer responded to the 1000 block of 17th Street where a tree limb had fallen and struck a vehicle while the driver was inside of it. While on seen, it was noted that a bee hive was in the tree and the driver of the vehicle had been stung as well as others who responded to the incident.  A incident report was completed.

16-12988, Credit Card Abuse, 5:35 PM:  An officer met with a complainant at the University Police Department where they reported fraudulent account activity on their Bearkat One Card.  An offense report was completed.

16-12880, Harassment, 8:36 AM:  An officer met with a complainant in the 1600 block of Avenue I in reference to a report of harassment.  The complainant stated that she has received several texts and photos from an ex-boyfriend.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed.  An investigation is ongoing.

16-12884, Motor Vehicle Accident, 9:56 AM:  An officer responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Bearkat Boulevard and Avenue I.  Upon arrival, the officer determined that a University owned golf cart struck a legally parked vehicle.  A crash report was completed.

16-12936, Traffic Arrest, 8:52 PM:  An officer observed a vehicle leave the roadway, drive over a pedestrian sidewalk, and then onto Intramural Field #1.  Upon contact with the driver, it was determined that he was not intoxicated and the driver's actions were deliberate.  Subsequently, the male university student was arrested and charged with a moving violation.

16-12951, Theft, 11:26 PM: An officer took a theft report via telephone where the complainant reported that their cell phone was stolen sometime between 11 AM and 5 PM on this date from the Evans Complex (1901 University Avenue).  An offense report was completed.

16-12847, Theft, 3:35 PM: An officer met with a complainant who reported that his camera equipment was stolen from Art Building D (2025 Sam Houston Avenue) sometime between September 15th and today.  The items were secured in a locker with a padlock.  The complainant stated that upon coming to his locker, he found the padlock unlocked.  An offense report was completed.

16-12781, Drug Offense, 12:16 AM: While conducting a traffic stop in the 500 block of Palm Street, the office determined that the driver and passenger were in possession of contraband.  Both the driver and passenger were issued Class C Misdemeanor citations for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.

16-12786, Drug Offense, 1:42 AM: An officer was dispatched to Spivey House (1925 Avenue I) in reference to a report of a suspicious odor.  Upon arrival, the officer detected the odor of marijuana and located the room in question.  Upon investigation, the officer identified three occupants in the room (one male student, one male and one female non-university student).  During the investigation, it was determined that the male and female (both non-university students) were in possession of contraband.  Both were arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.  It should be noted that both individuals arrested were also issued criminal trespass warnings for all SHSU property.

16-12804, Dispute, 6:34 PM: An officer was dispatched to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) in reference to a dispute between two students regarding personal property.  Prior to the arrival, the students had resolved the situation.  Information was obtained from the students and a incident report was completed.

16-12756, Public Intoxication, 2:22 AM: An officer was flagged down by a taxi service in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue.  The driver reported that a customer who was dropped off at their residence was heavily intoxicated and demanded to be taken to their vehicle parked at another establishment.  After dropping off the rider, the driver noted that they began walking back in the direction of the their vehicle.  The officer located the subject in the 2600 block of Sam Houston Avenue and determined that the male was extremely intoxicated.  The male was arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

16-12778, Drug Offense, 9:33 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  The driver was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.

16-12688, Medical Assist, 11:55 PM:  An officer responded to Lone Star Hall (910 Bearkat Boulevard) in reference to an individual extremely intoxicated.  Officer located the individual, found a sober and responsible individual to care for the intoxicated person.  An incident report was completed and will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-12558, Traffic Arrest, 2:12 AM:  An individual was arrested in the 2400 block of Sam Houston Avenue for a traffic related violation.

16-12618, Theft, 10:24 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that a drawstring back pack was stolen from the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard).  Upon investigation, the officer was able to locate the individual who took the backpack.  While speaking with the individual, it was determined that both the complainant and involved individual had similar backpacks.  The individual accidentally removed the backpack from the cubbyhole area where his backpack was stored and took the wrong one.  All property has been returned to the proper owners and no theft occurred.

16-12499, Stolen Vehicle, 8:08 AM: An officer met with a complainant at the University Police Department who reported that their white 2003 Dodge four door pickup truck was stolen from the P48 Parking Lot (2100 block of Avenue I).  The time frame appears to be between 9:30 AM on September 12th and today at 7:30 AM. The vehicle was entered into the stolen files database and an offense report was completed.

16-12524, Credit Card Abuse, 3:51 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their unattended wallet was found and turned into a lost and found at the CHSS Building (1901 Avenue I).  Upon obtaining the wallet from the lost and found, the victim stated that their driver's license and credit cards were missing. An offense report was completed.

16-12526, Medical Assist, 3:55 PM: An officer was dispatched to Academic Building I (1803 Avenue I) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-12527, Medical Assist, 3:57 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the rear parking lot of Elliott Hall (1006 17th Street) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-12528, Domestic Incident, 4:04 PM:  Officers responded to an assault in progress in the SHSU Police Department parking lot (2424 Sam Houston Avenue).  At this time a male and female were separated and interviewed.  It should be noted that both individuals have no affiliation with SHSU,  It was determined that neither party had assaulted the other; however, during the argument property was damaged.  At the time of the report, neither wished to pursue criminal charges.  The incident occurred at the University Place Apartments located at 2501 Lake Road, and the involved parties advised that they would separate for the night.

16-12532, Duty Upon Striking, 6:06 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Parking Garage (1730 Avenue I) where the complainant reported that their legally parked vehicle was struck and damaged.  The officer noted damage to the left rear quarter panel of the vehicle that appears to have been caused by another vehicle striking it.

16-12472, Domestic, 4:41 PM:  An officer responded to the Bearkat One Officer (1930 University Avenue) where an ongoing dispute between two female students was reported.  The officer met with one of the students involved in the dispute and obtained information regarding the incident.  An incident report was completed and will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

16-12474, Theft, 5:33 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Teacher Education Center (1908 Bobby K Marks Drive) in reference to a reported theft.  Upon arrival, the complainant reported her wallet was stolen from her purse.  Additionally, the complainant further reported that she encountered a male hiding in a closet in the room where her purse had been left unattended.  During the confrontation, the male that she encountered did not pose any danger to her at the time and seemed to have a purported reason for hiding in this closet.  Due to the circumstances, the victim believes that this may have been the time when her wallet was stolen.  The description provided was a black male, approximately 5' 4" in height, and a small build.

16-12367, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 5:02 AM: An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a loud noise complaint.  Upon arrival, the officer determined that two non-student males were in a female's room which is a violation of Residence Life visitation policy.  The two males were both issued criminal trespass warnings for all SHSU property.

16-12383, Medical Assist, 12:29 PM: While providing police services for a fraternity event at 2504 Sam Houston Avenue, emergency medical services were summoned to the scene for a overly intoxicated female.  The female was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

16-12399, AOA-Huntsville Police Department, 11:42 PM:  An officer responded to Huntsville Memorial Hospital to meet with the Huntsville Police Department who reported that a Huntsville High School Student who was reported missing after attending a Huntsville High School Football Game at Bowers Stadium (620 Bowers Boulevard) had been located.  The Huntsville Police Department is conducting an investigation concerning the events of his disappearance after the football game. At this time there is no threat to the University community that has been verified by the reporting of this incident.

16-12335, Damaged University Property, 12:03 PM:  An officer met with a staff member of Residence Life at White Hall (2101 Avenue I) in reference to damage found on a window.  Upon inspection, it appears that something was thrown at the window resulting in the minor damage.  An incident report was completed.

16-12339, Duty Upon Striking, 1:01 PM: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Bearkat Boulevard in reference to a damaged vehicle.  The complainant reported that their legally parked vehicle was struck and damaged by another vehicle.  A large dent was noted on the rear driver's side of the vehicle.  A offense report was completed.

16-12174, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 12:14 PM: An officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall (1008 17th Street) at the requested of the Department of Residence Life.  A student was being removed from the housing unit due to violation of University policy. The female student was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU housing units.

16-12178, Credit Card Abuse, 3:17 PM: An officer met with a University staff member in reference to discovering fraudulent transactions on the Curriculum and Instructions Department credit card.  An offense report was completed.

16-12190, Assist Outside Agency, 6:20 PM:  An officer was able to locate a suspect vehicle involved in a report of deadly conduct (a male fired a weapon from his vehicle striking another) near the intersection of Robinson Creek Parkway and the IH-45 West feeder road.  At this time a felony traffic stop was conducted where a male and female were taking into custody.  Upon the arrival of Huntsville officers, the two suspects were transported to the Huntsville Police Department for further investigation.

16-12190, Welfare Concern, 11:16 PM: An officer responded to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) to a report of a student in distress.  Upon arrival and investigation, the student was identified and found not to be in distress.  The student did eventually meet with guardian who advised that they would see to their care.

16-12103, Medical Assist, 12:15 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village parking garage in reference to a report of a unresponsive student.  Upon arrival, the officer located the male passed out by a car surrounded by vomit.  It was determined that the male was intoxicated and was subsequently transported by ambulance to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

16-11970, Fire, 11:06 AM:  Officers were dispatched to the Lee Drain Building (1900 Avenue I) in reference to subjects being stuck in an elevator.  Upon arrival, the officer observed that the building had an active fire alarm for the elevator mechanical room.  Upon checking the door to the elevator room, the officer noted the presence of heavy smoke.  The Huntsville Fire Department was contacted and arrived a short time later.  The individuals on the elevator were removed and the building was evacuated.  The cause of the smoke was due to a fire in the elevator mechanical room on an electrical panel.  The building was vented, and after air quality test the building was reopened for normal operations at 12:30 PM.

16-11999, Public Intoxication, 10:28 PM: An officer observed a male stumbling through the University Police Department parking lot (2424 Sam Houston Avenue), and upon checking his welfare determined that he was intoxicated.  The male was arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor Offense of Public Intoxication.

16-11933, Theft, 5:01 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Rachel Jackson House (1600 Avenue I) where a student reported that they were a victim of a scam.  The student reported that she received a call and the caller identified themselves as being from the Internal Revenue Service.  The student stated that they were duped into giving a thousand dollars to the caller.  An offense report was completed.  It should be noted that the IRS will never contact you by telephone wanting immediate payment.

16-11937, Duty Upon Striking, 6:21 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their legally parked vehicle was struck by another vehicle causing damage to left rear quarter panel.  An offense report was completed.

16-11744, Dispute, 8:25 PM: An officer was dispatched Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a dispute.  Upon arrival, the female complainant reported that she was in a verbal argument with her roommate and did not feel comfortable going back to her residence.  Information was obtained and a incident report was completed.  A copy of this report will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-11687, Duty Upon Striking, 3:16 PM: An officer met with a complainant who reported that their legally parked vehicle was struck while parked in the Sam Houston Village parking garage (1600 Sam Houston Avenue).  The officer noted damage to the vehicle on the driver's side rear bumper area. 16-11697, Drug Offense, 5:47 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Alpha Chi Omega House (1619 Avenue J) in reference to a report of a suspicious odor.  Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that a female university student was in possession of contraband.  Subsequently, the female was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.

16-11640, Possession of Marijuana, 10:51 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of Sam Houston Avenue and Star Circle, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  The driver was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana and the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-11500, Driving While Intoxicated, 2:27 AM: While conducting a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Avenue J, the officer determined that the driver (male university student) was intoxicated.  The driver was arrested and charged for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Driving While Intoxicated.  In addition, two male passengers (both male university students) were also intoxicated.  Both males were arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

16-11519, Duty Upon Striking, 10:11 AM:  An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive (university parking area) in reference to a reported damaged vehicle.  The complainant reported that their parked vehicle was struck causing damage to the left rear quarter panel.  An offense report was completed.

16-11406, Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, 12:13 AM: An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road) in reference to a reported alcohol violation.  Upon arrival, six minor university students were found consuming alcohol and one university student was found to be supplying the alcohol.  Also, this same student was also in possession of contraband.  The six minor students were each issued a citation for the offense of Minor in Consumption of Alcohol.  The one male university student was arrested for the Class A Misdemeanor offense of Contributing Alcohol to a Minor and the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.

16-11418, Assist Outside Agency, 2:55 AM:  An officer responded to the area of 11th Street and Avenue H to help search for a suspect who fled on foot.

16-11435, Theft, 12:20 PM: An officer responded to Academic Building III (1922 Avenue J) in reference to a reported theft.  Upon arrival, an officer met with a university staff member who reported an American flag and a Texas flag were taking from the flag poles outside of the building.  A theft report was completed.

16-11438, Duty Upon Striking, 1:02 PM: An officer met with a complainant in the 600 block of Bearkat Boulevard (university parking area) who reported that his vehicle was struck while parked.  A incident report was completed.

16-11360, Damage to University Property, 5:52 PM: An officer responded to the Evans Complex (1901 University) in reference to a water fountain leaking.  Appropriate departments were notified to fix the situation.  The damage does not appear to be criminal in nature.

16-11385, Dispute, 9:32 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall (1201 17th Street) in reference to a dispute between roommates.  The involved parties were identified and the Department of Residence Life was notified.  An incident report was completed.

16-11169, Duty Upon Striking, 12:50 PM:  An officer responded to the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks to investigate a reported minor motor vehicle accident.

16-11178, Damaged University Property, 3:59 PM: An officer met with a university staff member who reported that they were operating a university owned vehicle in the Houston, Texas area when they struck a height clearance sign causing minor damage to the vehicle.  An incident report was completed documenting the damage.

16-11187, Aggravated Assault, 7:43 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) where the complainants reported that they were approached by a heavy set white male in the 1900 block of University Avenue while playing a phone app (Pokemon Go).  According to the suspects, the white male approached them, without being provoked or asked, and became verbally threatening and produced a knife.  A search of the area was conducted and no suspect could be located that matched the description provided by the complainants.  At this time, based on the information provided, there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the University community.

16-11188, Warrant Service, 8:24 PM: An individual was arrested in the 2400 block of Sam Houston Avenue for outstanding warrants of arrest.

16-11189, Damaged University Property, 9:13 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Music Building (1751 Avenue I) in reference to a large plate glass window being shattered.  Upon investigation, there does not appear to be any indicators of criminal malice.  IT was noted that there is ongoing renovation work in the area and may be a result of accidental damage.

16-11037, Assist Outside Agency, 4:25 PM:  An officer responded to the 2100 block of Avenue O to assist with a reported suspicious person who was walking up to residences and twisting door knobs.  The officer located the suspect, detained the individual, and was later found to be in possession of narcotics.  A supplement report was completed..

16-11043, Damaged University Property, 7:24 PM:  An officer met with a University staff member who reported that a university owned vehicle was damaged in Memphis, Tennessee while a sponsored trip.  The damage was the result of a burglary of a motor vehicle where forced entry was made.  The staff member reported that nothing was stolen from the vehicle.  An offense report was completed in Memphis, Tennessee and an incident was completed noting the damage.

16-10993, Criminal Trespass, 2:54 PM:  An officer was dispatched to a construction site in the 2000 block of Avenue I in reference to a criminal trespass.  The complainant reported that a SHSU ID card was found inside the secured construction site.  At this time nothing was reported missing or damaged.

16-10932, Damaged University Property, 6:11 PM:  An officer responded to the Performing Arts Center (1700 Avenue I) in reference to a water leaking in through the ceiling.  It should be noted that this was determined to be a result of heavy rain that was being experienced throughout the area.

16-10940, Possession of Marijuana, 11:25 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined the the driver and passenger were in possession of contraband.  The driver and passenger were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-10892, Evading, 6:15 PM:  An officer responded to the intersection of Avenue O and 19th Street to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a suspect who was fleeing.  The suspect was caught and arrested behind a residence in the 1900 block of Avenue Q.

16-10893, Assist Outside Agency, 6:23 PM:  An officer responded to a business at 177 IH-45 South in reference to a reported domestic in progress to assist the Huntsville Police Department.  While out at the same call, the officer was also dispatched to a secondary call in reference to children locked inside of a vehicle (not running and windows rolled up in extensive heat).  The officer assisted with both calls.

16-10900, Damaged University Property, 9:51 PM:  An officer responded to the rear of the Lowman Student Center (1800 block of Avenue I) in reference to a minor motor vehicle accident.  A vehicle was backing when the driver failed to notice a university owned van behind him.  The driver struck the university van.  An incident report was completed.

16-10797, Assist Outside Agency, 1:56 AM:  An officer responded to the 100 block of North IH-45 west frontage road to assist the Huntsville Police Department with an assault victim.

16-10829, Suspicious Odor, 11:52 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a report of a suspicious odor.  Upon arrival, the officer located the room in question and began an investigation.  It was determined that three male university students had been smoking marijuana.  There was no usable amount of marijuana in the room; however, the officer was able to locate numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia.  At this no arrest were made, but a report was completed and it was referred to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review for the Violation of the Code of Student Conduct.

16-9957, Duty Upon Striking, 10:27 AM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the area of the 1700 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive.  Information was obtained and a incident report was completed.

16-9963, Suspicious Incident, 4:36 PM:  While responding to a door unlock call, an officer observed smoke emanating from a recycling bin outside of Academic Building IV.  Upon investigation, it appears that a cigarette was disposed of into the recycling bin which ignited materials within, causing them to smolder.  An incident report was completed.

Marks Drive).  The complainant reported that a female was sitting outside of the hotel and there was a smell of contraband material.   Upon arrival, the officer located the female and determined that the individual was wanted on outstanding warrants of arrest.  Furthermore, the female was found to be in possession of contraband.  The female was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and charged with Possession of Marijuana (Class B), Possession of a Controlled Substance (3rd Degree Felony).

16-8722, Damaged Vehicle, 6/21/2016, 10:25AM:  An officer was dispatched to the loading dock area of Old Main Market located at 1003 Bearkat Blvd regarding a university vehicle that backed into a bollard in the loading dock area.  The office noted the observed damaged to the vehicle and documented the information.

16-8701, Public Intoxication, 8:41 PM:  At 8:41 PM, officers were dispatched to the area of the Lowman Student Center located at 1802 Avenue I, in the area commonly known as "the mall", regarding the welfare of a female slumped over the ledge of a raised flower bed.  The officers made contact with the female and determined through behavior and the odor of alcohol on her person, that she was a danger to herself and others.  The female was arrested for Public Intoxication, a Class C Misdemeanor, and subsequent to arrest damaged the inside of the patrol car while en route to the Walker County Jail.  The female was subsequently charged with Criminal Mischief, a Class C Misdemeanor.

16-8698, Assist Other Agency-Warrant Service, 7:09 PM: While conducting a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Sycamore Avenue, an individual was arrested for outstanding warrants.

16-8618, Assist Other Agency-Huntsville PD, 9:51 PM:  Officers responded to the area of Avenue I and Bobby K Marks to assist in a vehicle pursuit initiated by Huntsville PD that continued on foot in the same area. 

16-8608, Sexual Assault, 4:31 PM:  An officer met with a complainant at UPD advising they were sexually assaulted on university property and off campus over separate encounters between June 7th and June 15th.  The suspect and complainant were in a dating relationship and it was determined that there is no extended threat to the campus community.  This case is currently under investigation.

16-8504, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 8:01 PM:  An officer was dispatched to University Police Department where the complainant reported that his vehicle was burglarized in the P14 Bowers Stadium Lot on campus. The complainant reported that between Friday, June 10th at 4:00PM and Monday, June 13th at NOON, the driver side door vent window had been removed from his vehicle without consent. During the officer's investigation, no forced entry into the vehicle was located.  This offense is currently under investigation.

16-8494, Assist Other Agency-Warrant Service, 2:20 PM: An individual that presented at the University Police Department was arrested for outstanding municipal warrants with the City of Huntsville.

16-8376, Driving While Intoxicated, 2:10 AM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver was intoxicated.  The driver was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Driving While Intoxicated.

16-8397, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 10:24 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Avenue M, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle in question while also observing drug paraphernalia in plain view within the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor, and was released from the traffic stop without incident.

16-8226, Assault-Family Violence, 2:10 AM:  An officer was dispatched to 716 Old Colony Road (an off campus location) in reference to a reported domestic incident.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the involved parties.  After obtaining information from both individuals, the suspect fled the scene leaving his identifying information with the officer.  A felony warrant will be sought for the suspect in this incident.

16-6938, Assault by Threat, 1:17 PM:  An officer met with a female university student who reported that she received a threatening tweet from another female university student.  The officer determined that an ongoing feud was occurring between the two student who both reside off campus.  An offense report was completed.

16-6953, Robbery, 6:25 PM:  An officer was flagged down in the 1300 block of 17th Street by a female university student who reported that she was the victim of a robbery that had just occurred.  The female reported that while packing her vehicle at Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) she was approached by her ex-girlfriend.  A confrontation then ensued where the victim reported that she was assaulted and the ex-girlfriend stole her cell phone.  It should be noted that this reported incident does not constitute an ongoing threat to the University and appears to be a domestic situation.

16-6800, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, 10:58 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  Subsequently, the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, unlawfully carrying of a weapon, and possession of marijuana.

Marks Drive in reference to report of a suspicious person.  Due to the individuals actions and an extensive criminal history, the male was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

16-6650, Possession of Marijuana, 12:29 AM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Lake Road, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of marijuana.  The driver was arrested and charged with numerous offenses.

16-6675, Fire, 5:17 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road) in reference to a report of smoke coming from a residence and a fire alarm pull station being activated.  Upon arrival, the officer used a fire extinguisher and extinguished the fire in the living room area.  The Huntsville Fire Department also responded to this location.  The fire was caused by a hoverboard that was charging.  No injuries were reported and on minor damage was noted.

16-6684, Unlawful Restraint, 9:04 PM: An officer responded to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a 911 hang up call.  Upon arrival, the officer located the involved parties and determined they were involved in a verbal dispute.  No signs of an altercation or injuries were noted and neither wanted to pursue any type of formal criminal charges.  The incident was document and a copy of the report will be sent to the Dean of Students' Office and the Department of Residence Life for student conduct code violations.

16-6573, AOA-Huntsville Police Department, 12:09 AM:  An officer responded to the Stripes gas station (2530 Sam Houston Avenue) to assist with a welfare concern report.

16-6611, Unlawful Restraint, 3:33 PM: An officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall (1008 17th Street) in reference to a reported assault.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a male resident who was reportedly tied to a chair and threatened with a stun gun.  The officer met with the other actors in this case and obtained information from them as well.  The victim of this alleged offense did not wish to file a formal complaint.  The incident was documented and a copy of the report was sent to the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-6629, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 8:48 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 600 block of Bearkat Boulevard, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  The driver was issued a citation for the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-6517, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 1:40 AM: While conducting a foot patrol inside of Raven Village (2133 Avenue I), an officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana.  Upon investigation of the residence in question, no contraband was found; however, the occupants admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the evening.  Subsequently, three male non-university students were issued criminal trespass warnings for all SHSU property.

16-6426, AOA-Warrant Service, 6:53 PM:  A male was arrested in the 2200 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive for an outstanding warrant of arrest for the offense of theft.

16-6427, Theft, 7:43 PM:  An officer spoke with a male university student who reported that a pair of shoes were stolen from his girlfriend's residence in Raven Village (2133 Avenue I).  The complainant was able to provide possible suspects and an investigation is underway.

16-6249, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 12:23 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Raven Village parking area in the 2100 block of Avenue I where the complainant reported that his vehicle was burglarized. The complainant reported a AR-15 rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun missing along with other component items.  During the officer's investigation, no forced entry into the vehicle was located.

16-6254, Damaged University Property, 4:24 PM:  An officer responded to the SHSU Post Office (1627 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a tree falling and damaging and damaging university property.  The officer arrived and noted the damage.

16-6195, Sexual Assault, 8:33 AM:  An officer responded to Huntsville Memorial Hospital (110 memorial Hospital Drive) in reference to a report of a sexual assault report.  At this time the officer met with a female university student and her friends who reported an incident of sexual assault.  At this time the investigation is ongoing and all relevant parties have been identified.  The initial investigation's information concludes that there is not an ongoing threat to the University campus.

16-6210, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 2:27 PM:   An officer was dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall (1201 17th Street) in reference to a student being evicted from the housing complex.  At this time the student was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU housing facilities on campus.

16-6228, Possession of a Controlled Substance/Marijuana, 9:07 PM:  During a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, an officer arrested two males (both of Houston, Texas) who were determined to be in possession of Ecstasy (MDMA) and marijuana.  Both were taken to the Walker County Jail and booked on the aforementioned offenses.

16-6233, Criminal Trespass Warning, 10:04 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Pritchett Soccer Field (1721 Avenue O) in reference to three suspicious males in all black who were seen running in and out of the restroom facilities.  It should be noted that this field is secured by fence.  While en-route, the dispatcher relayed additional information that these same individuals were now throwing rocks at a vehicle in the 1300 hundred block of 17th Street.  The three males were located and found not to be university students.  At this time all three were issued criminal trespass warnings for all SHSU property.

16-6108, Possession of Marijuana, 12:11 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a report of a suspicious odor.  Upon arrival and investigation, the officer determined that three females in the residence were in possession of contraband.  Subsequently, three females were transported to the Walker County Jail and each were charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.

16-6116, Credit Card Abuse, 8:44 AM:  An officer met with a university staff member who reported discovering fraudulent activity on their department purchasing credit card.  An offense report was completed.

16-6128, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 12:28 PM: While leaving the University Police Department, an officer observed a male walking through the employee parking area looking through and into vehicles.  The male was identified and determined not be affiliated with SHSU.  The male was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

16-6135, Single Motor Vehicle Accident, 2:21 PM:  An officer responded to the 400 block of IH-45 South (Ag Complex) where a single vehicle left the roadway and struck a university fence.  A report was completed.

16-6154, Littering, 5:10 PM:  An officer conducted a traffic stop in the near the intersection of Josey Street and Avenue M.  After issuing the citation and returning to his patrol car to resume patrol duties, the officer observe the female driver discard her citation out of the driver's side window.  The officer conducted a second traffic stop and arrested the driver for the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Littering.

16-6066, Medical Assist, 2:22 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Shot put and Discus Field (530 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to assist with a reported injured student.

16-6069, Public Intoxication, 4:10 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to an intoxicated male in the public hallways of the residential building.  Upon arrival, the officer located the male in question who was high on synthetic marijuana and another prescription medication.  At this time the male university student was arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

16-6026, Sexual Assault, 7:15 PM: An officer met with a female university student who reported that at an unknown date (sometime late March or early April) at an unknown off campus location, she was a victim of unwanted sexual contact by a known male.  At this time information was obtained and an investigation is ongoing.

16-6027, Medical Assist, 7:37 PM: An officer responded to the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-6029, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 9:26 PM: An officer was dispatched to a suspicious person located at Lone Star Hall (910 Bearkat Boulevard).  Upon arrival to the area, the individual could not be located.  As additional information came it, the subject was finally located in the 2100 block of Avenue I.  At this time the male was identified as a non-student.  Due to the circumstances (unauthorized access to a residential facility) and an extensive criminal history, the male was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

16-5592, Assault (Simple), 8:28 AM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that she was assaulted by a former boyfriend on campus during the month of March.  The reported incidents took place in the CHSS Building (1901 Avenue I) and in a university parking area located in the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks.  Information was obtained and an investigation continues.

16-5602, Credit Card Abuse, 12:39 PM: An officer met with a complainant who reported that they lost their debit card and a BearkatOne Card at an off campus location.  On April 10th, the complainant discovered fraudulent charges on the debit card.  An offense report was completed.

16-5541, Possession of Marijuana, 9:57 AM:  While conducting a pedestrian stop on three male university students in the 1400 block of 17th Street, the officer determined that one of the males was in possession of contraband.  The male was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and booked for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana and the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-5553, Credit Card Abuse, 2:46 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the University Theatre Center (1740 Bobby K. Marks Drive) in reference to a credit card abuse report.  The complainant reported finding fraudulent activity on the department's purchasing credit card.  An offense report was completed.

16-5579, Criminal Trespass Warning, 11:38 AM:  While investigating a suspicious person in the Museum Grounds (1836 Sam Houston Avenue), the officer recognized the individual from recent arrests by another agency.  After determining that the male had an extensive criminal history, recent criminal arrest, and was not a student or employed by the University; the male was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

16-5371, Medical Assist, 10:10 AM:  An officer responded to Academic Building IV (1921 Avenue J) to assist with a reported medical call.  A female was subsequently transported to Huntsville Memorial hospital for further treatment.

16-5396, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 10:18 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Museum Grounds (1836 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a reported suspicious person.  Upon locating the female in question, the officer learned that the individual had just been released from the Walker County Jail, was not welcome at the Good Shepard Mission and had an extensive criminal history. Thus, the female was issued a criminal trespass warning for ass SHSU property.

16-5304, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 5:58 AM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 2000 block of Avenue J (P48).  Several items were removed and tool marks were found on the vehicle indicating forced entry.  An offense report was completed.

16-5321, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 11:18 AM: A student reported that his vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 2100 block of Avenue I (university parking area).  The student reported that two rifles were stolen from the vehicle.  It should be noted that the Huntsville Police Department recovered two weapons matching this description on the same date from a nearby apartment complex.  An investigation is ongoing.

16-5225, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 12:46 AM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver (a male university student) was in possession of contraband.  The male was arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-5226, Sexual Assault, 3:02 AM:  An officer responded to an off campus address located in the 2500 block of Robinson Way.  At this time the officer met with the complainant who reported that she was the victim of a sexual assault that occurred at an off campus apartment complex.  After making the initial report, the complainant refused any further assistance at this time.  Additional information regarding services available were provided to the complainant.  An investigation will continue.  Based on the location of the incident and initial information obtained, there does not appear to be an ongoing safety concern to the University.

16-5234, Damaged University Property, 9:40 AM:  An officer was dispatched to the Ag Complex Indoor Arena (440 IH-45 South) in reference to a rear window that was shattered on a university vehicle.  While speaking with the complainant, it is believed that the damage was caused by mowing that was taking place in the area.

16-5248, AOA-Warrant Service, 3:07 AM:  An individual was arrested in the 500 block of Bowers Boulevard for outstanding warrants of arrest.  The individual was transported and booked into the Walker County Jail.

16-5274, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 9:58 PM: An officer was dispatched to a university parking area in the 2000 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive (P18) in reference to a burglarized vehicle.  Upon arrival, an officer met with a male university student who reported finding his backpack on top of another vehicle that was in his unsecured vehicle.  The officer met with a second student who reported items of personal property missing from his vehicle.  An offense report was completed.

16-5196, Damaged University Property, 1:30 PM:  An officer responded to the 1300 block of 17th Street in reference to a minor motor vehicle accident.  A vehicle backing out of a parked space struck a university owned vehicle.  A report was completed.

16-5219, AOA-Warrant Service, 9:58 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants of arrest.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-5101, Violation Student Conduct Code, 1:08 AM:  An officer responded to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) where Residence Life staff reported finding a heavily intoxicated male in the hallway pass out.  Upon waking the individual, the male began to vomit and then staggered to his room.  The officer located the male in his residence and his sober roommate advised he would take care of him.  An incident report was completed.

16-5106, Violation Student Conduct Code, 2:03 AM:  An officer was dispatched to White Hall (2101 Avenue I) in reference to a reported medical call.  While on scene, it was determined that the minor female was heavily intoxicated.  Emergency medical services were contacted and the student was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

16-5088, Medical Assist, 8:38 PM:  An officer responded to Performing Arts Center to assist with a reported medical call.

16-5091, Public Intoxication, 9:13 PM:  An officer responded to the Good Shepard Mission (1005 Martin Luther King Boulevard) in reference to a intoxicated individual.  Upon arrival, the officer found the individual in question.  The individual was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail for the Class "C" Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

16-4953, Alcohol Violation, 1:17 AM:  While conducting a foot patrol in Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) heard a loud event taking place in a residence.  Due to the time of morning and comments that the officer could hear, contact was made with the resident and occupants in the room.  At this time it was determined that four minors were in possession of alcohol. Each minor was issued a citation for the offense of Minor in Possession.

16-4796, Theft, 11:35 AM:  An officer responded to Academic Building IV (1921 Avenue J) where the complainant reported a number of kitchen related items missing.  An offense report was completed.

16-5023, Contraband Offense, 11:31 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall (1008 17th Street) in reference to a reported suspicious odor.  Upon arrival, the officer located the room in question and identified the resident.  The resident admitted to smoking marijuana and readily provided items of contraband.  At this time no citation was issued; however, a report was completed that will be forwarded to the Residence Life Department and the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

16-4882, Lost Property, 9:36 AM:  An officer me with a staff member with the Veteran Resources Center who reported that while conducting inventory a laptop computer could not be located.  A lost property report was completed at this time.

16-4885, Medical Assist, 9:49 AM:  An officer responded to the CHSS Building (1901 Avenue I) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-4890, Student Conduct Code Violation, 1:06 PM: A male university student became upset with a religious speaker in the Bearkat Plaza Area (1800 - 1900 block of Avenue I).  The student was adamant that the speakers did not belong on campus and took their personal property and assaulted them by throwing water on the speakers.  The speakers did not wish to file charges.  A report was completed and will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

16-4894, Assault, 2:19 PM:  While providing crowd control in the Bearkat Plaza area (1800-1900 block of Avenue I) an officer observed a female commit an assault.  The female was taking into custody and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Assault.

16-4896, Duty Upon Striking, 3:08 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of University Avenue (university parking area) where the complainant reported that her legally parked vehicle was struck while unattended.  Damage was located on the vehicle's front passenger side door.  A offense report was completed.

16-4736, Drugs/Narcotics Violation, 9:47 PM:  An officer was dispatched to a suspicious odor call at Raven Village (2133 Avenue I).  Upon arrival, the officer met with residents of the dorm room in question and determined that a female student was in possession of contraband.  The female was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-4634, Theft, 2:26 PM:  A student reported that a delivered package left at their front door was stolen from their residence in Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road). An offense report was completed.

16-4644, Traffic Arrest, 5:35 PM:  A driver was arrested in the 1600 block of Sam Houston Avenue after it was determined that their driver's license was suspended and the vehicle had no insurance.

16-4607, Motor Vehicle Accident, 4:34 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Bowers Boulevard in reference to a unattended single vehicle accident.  Upon arrival, an officer found a pickup truck that had rolled from a business at the intersection of Bowers Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue into and through two fences and the baseball stadium.  An accident report was completed.

16-4550, Duty Upon Striking, 4:07 PM:  An officer spoke with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in a university lot (600 Bowers Boulevard) during an  entertainment event.  The complainant stated that they did not observe the damage until the following day.  A report was generated.

16-4470, Criminal Mischief, 9:56 AM:  An officer responded to Bowers Field House (620 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to a damaged vending machine.  Upon arrival, the officer met with Vending staff who reported that on of their machines had been damaged that appears consistent with intense shaking.  An incident report was completed and the vending machine was removed from the facility.

16-4486, Theft, 1:57 PM:  An officer met with a University staff member who reported that after conducting their annual inventory, several items were discovered missing from the Mass Communications Department.  An offense report was completed.

16-4508, Traffic Arrest, 7:12 PM:  A driver was arrested during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Sam Houston Avenue after it was determined that the driver did not have a license or insurance for the vehicle.

16-4408, Possession of Marijuana, 12:40 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a report of a suspicious odor.  Upon arrival, the officer determined that a non-student male was in possession of marijuana and other contraband in a residence.  The male was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-4440, Damaged University Property, 4:22 PM:  An officer located a damaged window at the Johnson Coliseum (1964 Bobby K. Marks Drive).  Information was gathered and Physical Plant was contacted.

16-4456, Assault-Family Violence, 9:37 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department where the complainant reported that she was assaulted by her ex-girlfriend in the stadium parking lot (600 block Bowers Boulevard).  Information was obtained and an investigation is ongoing.

16-4384, Duty Upon Striking, 8:20 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the 600 block of Bowers Boulevard (university parking area).  The damage was noted and a report was completed documenting the damage.

16-4404, Possession of Marijuana, 11:20 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Avenue O, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  The driver was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

16-4288, Damaged Vehicle, 3:36 PM:  An officer met with a student at the University Police Department who reported that her windshield was damaged by an unknown object while parked in in the 2100 block of Avenue I (university parking area). The damage appears to have been caused by a rock or some type of ball.

16-4204, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 12:02 AM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, the officer determined that the driver was in possession of contraband.  The driver was issued a Class "C" Misdemeanor citation for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

16-4210, Criminal Mischief, 4:14 AM:  Officer responded to the Small Business Development Center (2405 Avenue I) in reference to an alarm.  It should be noted that Huntsville Police Department had been dispatched to the area of Domino's Pizza in the same business complex in reference to a suspicious person.  Upon arrival, officers found the door to Small Business shattered.  The suspicious person was located and arrested for public intoxication (16-4208).  At this time the individual is a suspect in the shattered glass door.  An investigation is ongoing.

16-4215, Criminal Trespass Warning, 12:10 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Memorial Museum grounds (1836 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to two individuals who were being obscene and inappropriate.  At this time both individuals were issued criminal trespass warnings and escorted off the property.

16-4225, Assault/Simple, 4:42 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Gresham Library (1830 Bobby K. Marks) in reference to a reported assault.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant and the suspect.  At this time the complainant reported that she was assaulted by unwanted contact.  The suspect also asked if he could lick her feet.  The suspect, who was not a student, was issued a criminal trespass for all SHSU property.  The complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

16-4226, Burglary of a Habitation, 5:00 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that their residence in Anne Shaver House (1619 Avenue J) was burglarized.  At this time the complainant reported that their wallet was stolen that contained U.S. Currency, credit cards, and a driver's license.  No forced entry could be located.  An investigation is ongoing.

16-3793, Harassment, 1:34 PM:  An officer met with a complainant at the University Police Department where they reported that they were being harassed by another student on campus.  Information was obtained, a report was completed, and an investigation is ongoing.

16-3823, Theft, 6:41 PM:  An officer met with two complainants who reported that items of personal property were stolen from their residence at Barrett House (2001 Avenue J).  The victims provided suspect information and an investigation is underway.

16-3836, Theft, 10:00 PM:  An officer met with a complainant at the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) who reported that they mistakenly left their phone at the location.  Upon arrival, a search of the area was conducted; however, the phone could not be located.  An offense report was completed.

16-3837, Assault, 10:19 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to two roommates who were having a verbal altercation over each others habits within the shared residence. One of the roommates threatened to hit the other, causing fear. The victim of the threatening assault was relocated to a new residential unit. A citation was issued to the violator.

16-3668, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 9:30 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 11th Street, the officer determined that the occupants in a vehicle were in possession of contraband.  During the officer's investigation, marijuana and two handguns were found in the vehicle.  The driver and front seat passenger were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon.  A third passenger in the vehicle (a minor) was arrested and charged with an alcohol related offense.

16-3591, Motor Vehicle Accident, 11:26 AM:  An officer responded to the Stadium parking lot (600 block Bowers Boulevard) in reference to a subject who struck a parked vehicle after failing to maintain a safe speed. The driver of vehicle sustained minor injuries, but refused transport to local hospital. An accident report was completed.

16-3595, Assist Outside Agency, 12:50 PM:  Officers were dispatched to a domestic in progress at the Encore Apartments (1410 Nottingham) to assist the Huntsville Police Department. Through the course of the investigation it was determined the offense of Assault Bodily Injury-Family Violence occurred and a non-student or resident of the apartment was arrested. A supplement report was filed.

16-3601, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 3:51 PM:  Officer met with complainant at the University Police Department who reported that his vehicle was parked in the P1 Lot (located in the 800 block of Bowers Boulevard) was burglarized.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed.

16-3602, Assist Outside Agency, 2:40 PM:  An officer was requested by a HPD officer to conduct a female search while conducting an investigation stemming from a traffic stop. The female was found to be in possession of marijuana.  A supplement report was completed.

16-3615, Assist Outside Agency, 10:33 PM:  An officer responded to the Walker County Jail to assist the Huntsville Police Department for a driving while intoxicated investigation.

16-3434, Assist Outside Agency, 2:31 AM:  An officer responded to the 1200 block of Sam Houston Avenue as a secondary officer for a Huntsville Police Department officer on a traffic stop. The Huntsville Police Department officer was conducting a "Driving While Intoxicated" investigation with two individuals on scene. At that time a female subject was taken into custody for "Driving While Intoxicated. The UPD officer was requested to assist with operating the intoxilyzer at the Walker County Jail. A report was filed.

16-3480, Welfare Concern, 7:07 PM:  An officer responded to Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road) after friends of a resident reported that he posted social media messages that he was possibly going to harm himself or commit suicide. The student was located after several hours of searching and voluntarily went to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

16-3402, Damaged University Property, 7:57 PM:  An officer met with a complainant who reported that the university vehicle he was driving was struck from behind while traveling on SH 30 West. Both vehicle sustained minor damage and info was exchanged before he traveled to UPD to report the damage. A report for the damage to the university vehicle was completed.

16-3420, Assist Outside Agency, 11:02 PM: During a traffic stop in the 800 block of Bowers Boulevard where the passenger was found to have active warrants of arrest.  The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-3262, Credit Card Abuse, 3:50 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Gresham Library (1830 Bobby K. Marks) in reference to a credit card abuse report.  Upon arrival, the complainant reported that fraudulent charges were discovered on the department's purchasing credit card.  An offense report was completed.

16-3268, Theft, 5:18 PM:  A student reported his secured mountain bike was stolen from the bike rack between Academic Building III and Academic Building IV (1900 block of Avenue J). The student stated he used a blue cable secured with a Master lock, which was also missing.  An offense report was completed.

16-3288, Welfare Concern, 9:40 PM:  An officer officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall (1008 17th Street) to assist with a reported medical call.

February 29, 2016
16-3166, Violation - Student Conduct Code, 12:04 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a "suspicious odor" report that became a "Violation of Student Code of Conduct" report. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with one of the residents and detected the faint odor of marijuana inside the apartment. The officer then requested, and was granted, consent to search the apartment. No contraband was discovered during the search; however, the resident admitted to having smoked marijuana in the apartment earlier that evening. A report was filed and will be sent to the Residence Life Department and the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

16-3175, Duty Upon Striking, 9:10 AM: At approximately 6:40 AM, an unknown driver of an 18-wheeler struck the Sam Houston Parking Garage information sign during an attempt to make a two-point turn in the 1700 block of Avenue I. The driver failed to leave information and/or notify the owner of the damaged property. Video evidence was documented of the incident.

16-3204, Suspicious Incident, 4:12 PM:  An officer responded to Spivey House, located at 1925 Avenue I, in reference to a suspicious incident. The officer met with the complainants who advised that today that they exited their dorm room to take trash to the common trash receptacle and locked their door on the way out.  Upon return, their door was unlocked.  Upon inspection of their room, items in the room were moved from the location she left them. The information was documented.

16-3132, Traffic Arrest, 3:23 PM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Avenue J, the officer determined that the driver had a suspended license and no insurance on the vehicle.  The driver was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and booked for multiple traffic offenses.

16-3136, Theft, 6:24 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Sigma Chi House (216 FM 980) in reference to a reported theft.  Upon arrival, the complainant reported that their "Sigma Chi" letters had been stolen and burned.  An investigation is ongoing.

16-3144, Welfare Concern, 7:23 PM:  Officer were dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a student in distress.  The student voluntarily went to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluations.

16-3151, Medical, 10:20 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) to assist with a reported medical call.

16-3068, Violation - Code of Student Conduct, 3:10 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Spivey House, located at 1925 Avenue I, in reference to a "welfare concern" that became a "Violation of Student Conduct" report. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a intoxicated student who advised that he was under the legal drinking age. As the student was already back in his residence and did not appear to be a danger to himself or others, he was remained into the care of a friend for the remainder of the evening. A report was filed that will be sent to the Residence Life Department and the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

16-2996, Criminal Mischief, 7:37 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Raven Nest Golf Course (located at 457 IH-45N) in reference to a damaged window.  Upon arrival, the officer found where someone intentionally removed a window screen and broke out the window.  It appears that there was an attempt to burglarize the building.  Upon investigation, it was determined that nothing appeared to be missing at this time.  A criminal mischief offense report was completed.

16-3042, Theft, 8:00 PM:  An officer responded to the Johnson Coliseum (1964 Bobby K. Marks Drive) in reference to a reported theft of property.  A complainant reported that their wallet was stolen after being left unattended at a concession stand.

16-2877, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, 12:01 AM:  While conducting a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue for an equipment violation, it was determined that the vehicle was reported stolen.  Subsequently, two males (out of Houston, Texas) were arrested for multiple offenses.  In addition, a female student (girlfriend of one of the males) was arrested during the investigation for Interfering with the Duties of a Peace Officer.  All were transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-2892, Criminal Trespass, 1:19 PM:  Officers were dispatched to the Gresham Library (1830 Bobby K. Marks) in reference to a fight in progress.  Upon arrival, the officer located the involved individuals.  After sorting out the dispute, a male non-student was determined to have an active Criminal Trespass Warning for all Sam Houston State University Property. The male was then arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail where he was charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Criminal Trespass.  Neither party wished to pursue any formal charges for the assault.

16-2898, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 2:53 PM: An officer responded to the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive in reference to a suspicious male. While en-route, a Huntsville Police Officer advised a black male wearing black pants and a white hoodie was seen looking into vehicles and overall acting suspicious. The Officer advised he saw him walking southbound on Bobby K. Marks.  Upon arrival to the area, the officer located the male. After a brief discussion, the individual was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

Sexual Assault by Campus Security Authority (CSA):  On February 23, 2016, our department was notified by a CSA that they received a report from a female student that they were sexually assaulted on campus in a parking lot near White Hall (2101 Avenue I) approximately two weeks ago.  At this time the CSA advised that the victim did not want any interaction with law enforcement and wished to remain anonymous.  At this time there is no date of incident, no time frame, no exact location, and no suspect information.  If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact the University Police Department at 936-294-1800 and ask to speak with Detective Brown.  Tips can also be made to Walker County Crime

16-2850, Duty Upon Striking, 11:21 AM:  An officer was dispatched to a university parking area in the 2100 block of Avenue I (P22) in reference to a damaged vehicle.  The complainant reported that their vehicle was struck between 7:30 AM and 11 AM causing a large dent to the rear passenger side bumper. No suspect information available at time of report and subject declined prosecution.

16-2854, Disorderly Conduct, 1:44 PM:  An officer was dispatched to the Lee Drain Building (1900 Avenue I) in reference to a report of disorderly conduct.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who reported that while using a men's restroom in the building, another male in the restroom was looking through a hole in the partition at him.  When the complainant confronted the male watching him, the male quickly put toilet paper back into the hole and hurriedly left.  The complainant followed and detained the male until officers arrived.  At this time the male student student was subsequently issued a Class "C" Misdemeanor citation for Disorderly Conduct.

16-2855, Damaged Vehicle, 2:23 PM:  An officer was dispatched to a university parking lot in the 2100 block of Avenue I (P23) in reference to a damaged vehicle.  Upon arrival, the officer observed that a tree branch had fallen and landed on his vehicle causing cracks on his windshield.  The incident was documented.

16-2868, Harassment, 7:43 PM:  An officer met with a complainant at the University Police Department in reference to receiving harassing text messages.  Information was obtained from the complainant; however, at this time the complainant did not wish to pursue a formal criminal complaint.

16-2771, Criminal Trespass, 9:55 AM:  An officer was dispatched to Estill Hall (1002 16th Street) in reference to a male being uncooperative with Residence Life staff.  At this time the officer met with a male non SHSU student and he was issued a criminal trespass warning for all of residence life property.  This warning was issued after reportedly being uncooperative with resident advisors during a overnight visit with his girlfriend, an all female residential unit, and since he was not a student at the University with legitimate business.

16-2731, Assist Outside Agency, 2:13 PM: An officer responded to Cedarwood Apartments complex, located at 2201 Bobby K. Marks Drive, to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a "Fight in Progress." Upon arrival, the officer identified the primary aggressor and determined that an active arrest warrant was issued by the Huntsville Municipal Court. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-2742, Criminal Trespass, 7:00 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) in reference to a criminal trespass in progress report.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a female University student who had been issued a criminal trespass warning, prior to arrest date, related to a narcotics possession case.  The female was arrested and charged with the Class "B" Misdemeanor offense of Criminal Trespass.

16-2709, Possession of Marijuana, 9:40 PM:  An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (located at 2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a suspicious odor report. During the investigation, a student was found to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several containers of alcohol. The student was taken into custody and charged with the Class "B" Misdemeanor Offense of "Possession of Marijuana" and was issued a Huntsville Municipal Court Citation (Instanter) for the Class "C" Misdemeanor Charges of "Possession of Drug Paraphernalia" and "Minor in Possession of Alcohol". The student was transferred to the Walker County Jail and remanded to the custody of the jail staff. A report was filed.

February 18, 2016
16-2558, 4:15 PM, Interpersonal Conflict:  An officer met with the complainant who reported an ongoing dispute between herself and her roommate (both reside in Elliott Hall (1002 16th Street). She advised since September her roommate has been taking clothing and other personal items without her permission and wearing them. Most items were eventually returned; however, the complainant reported two bottles of perfume were completely used up. At this time the complainant will have a new housing assignment on Monday, February 22. An incident report was completed for documentation purposes.

16-2488, 12:46 PM, Assist Outside Agency/HPD: An officer was in the area of the Family Dollar, located at 1520 11th Street, when he overheard the Walker County Communications Center relay information in reference to a subject of interest in the parking lot. The UPD officer assisted the Huntsville Police Department and Walker County Sheriff’s Department in detaining a black male matching the description of an individual reported burglarizing vehicles in the area. After the UPD officer detained the suspect in wrist restraints, he was released to the Huntsville Police Department’s custody.

16-2503 Evading and 16-2504 Assist Outside Agency/Warrant Service, 4:36 PM: Officers overheard radio transmissions involving the Walker County Sheriff’s Department in pursuit of a motorcycle traveling southbound on State Highway 19 entering the Huntsville city limits. The Walker County Sheriff’s Department recognized the driver as an individual with several active arrest warrants. At that time the Walker County Sheriff’s Department lost sight of the motorcycle and disengaged from the pursuit. The UPD units responded to the State Highway 75 and State Highway 19 area to assist. Moments later the UPD officers observed the motorcycle in question on State Highway 19 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver disregarded by increasing his speeds evading the officers.

Officers continued with the pursuit onto the I-45 Northbound feeder road from State Highway 19 at high rates of speed. During the course of the pursuit the motorcycle collided with a vehicle attempting to turn into the Exxon Station, located at 558 Interstate 45 South. Officers were then able to take the driver into custody. A computerized inquiry into the subject’s state identification card revealed two felony arrest warrants issued by the Walker County District Court: for “Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=4G<200G, a Second Degree Felony and “Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, a Third Degree Felony. The subject was transported to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital by the Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services for medical treatment. Upon completion of receiving the necessary treatment, the individual was transported to the Walker County Jail, booked on the aforementioned arrest warrants and charged with “Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle with Previous Convictions, a Third Degree Felony. 16-2431-Theft (MC): At 2:38 PM, an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village parking lot 20, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a theft report. The complainant advised between February 11th and February 14th her front license plate was removed from her vehicle without her consent. The license plate was entered as stolen and the complainant was provided with information about obtaining replacement plates. A report was filed.

15-19357, Criminal Trespass: At 2:20 PM, an officer made contact with a subject that had an active arrest warrant issued by this department via telephone. The Officer made arrangements with the subject to meet and turn himself in. Officers later met the subject at the Health & Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, and took him into custody for the outstanding warrant without incident. The subject was transported and booked into the Walker County Jail.

16-2372-Assault Family Violence (MC): At 10:45 AM, an officer dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue in reference to a complainant wishing to make an assault report involving a former SHSU roommate. The complainant advised that her ex-roommate made threatening comments on the social network media “Twitter” about causing her bodily harm. The threatening comments were made a few weeks prior to this report, with the complainant wanting to pursue a formal criminal complaint filed at this time. Due to personal differences and on-going problems, Residence Life has already separated both parties by relocating one of the involved parties to a different housing unit on campus. A report was filed.

16-2374, Damage to University Property: At 3:34 PM, An officer was dispatched to the P33 parking lot, located at 1600 Avenue I, in reference to a SHSU vehicle that sustained damage from a tire rupturing while being operated. At the time of the report the driver was not identified due to not being on scene and the damage being called in by the service shop. The damage was documented and a report filed.

16-2375, Theft: At 4:27 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Farrington Building, located at 1908 Avenue J, in reference to a theft of a cellular phone. The complainant advised that while tutoring students in room number 104, between 3:00 PM and 3:45 PM, she left her phone on a table. When the complainant went to retrieve the phone it was discovered missing. The complainant was not able to provide the serial number and was not able to track the phone’s location due to having the service deactivated through the service provider prior to making the report. Additionally, the complainant signed a non-prosecution form in regards to not seeking criminal charges.

16-2390, Interpersonal Conflict: At 7:34 PM, officers were dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to two residents who had been in a verbal altercation.  The verbal argument took place when one of the individuals was visiting the other involved parties’ roommate. It was determined no criminal offense occurred. A report was filed and will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-2393, AOA Huntsville Police Department: At 8:08 PM, an officer responded to the MS Express Convenience Store, located at 2812 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to assisting an HPD Officer who was not answering his radio to check his welfare. Upon arrival, the officer discovered that the HPD officer was on the ground with a Hispanic male subject who was already in hand restraints. The officer assisted the HPD Officer with securing the suspect and remained on scene until additional HPD Officers could arrive.

16-2349, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 10:04 PM, an officer was dispatched to the area of Old Main Market, located at 1003 Bearkat Boulevard, in reference to a "criminal trespass warning" report. Officers were originally dispatched to the area to assist with the Huntsville Police department in reference to a 911 call. During the investigation, it was determined that the call was the result of an argument between a male and female student. It was determined that the female student lived at Sam Houston Village and the male student lived off campus. The male student was then issued a "Criminal Trespass Warning" for Sam Houston Village. A report was filed.

16-2295: AOA-Warrant Service: At 12:25 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the Baker Motel parking lot, located at 2406 Sam Houston Avenue. During the traffic investigation, a computerized inquiry revealed that the driver of the vehicle had active warrants out of the Huntsville Municipal Court. The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail. A report was filed.

16-02307, Duty Upon Striking: At 2:16 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Raven Village parking area, located in the 2100 block of Avenue I, in reference to a “Duty upon Striking” report. According to the complainant, he last saw his vehicle undamaged when he left it in the parking lot on Thursday at approximately 4:00 AM. When the complainant returned to his vehicle at approximately 2:00 AM on Friday, he observed the new damage to his vehicle. The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information at this time. A report was filed.

16-2317, Minor in Possession: at 8:57 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to an "Alcohol Violation." During the investigation, several underage students admitted to have been drinking alcohol earlier that evening. One student was found to be possession of the remaining alcohol and received a citation for the Class "C" Misdemeanor charge of "Minor in Possession." A report was filed.

16-2234, 1:07 AM, Driving While Intoxicated: An officer conducted a traffic stop at Arby’s which is located at 1504 11th Street. The officer determined that the driver was intoxicated, took a male non-student subject into custody and transported him to the Walker County Jail. At the jail, the subject was charged with “Driving While Intoxicated”, a class “B” Misdemeanor offense.

16-2261, Credit/Debit Card Abuse: At 2:37 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1806 Avenue J, where the complainant advised that she found multiple fraudulent charges on her assigned University Procurement Card. The complainant was unable to provide any suspect information. An offense report was filed.

16-2168, 8:14 AM, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Village Parking Garage, (P42) located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to an “Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle” report. A student reported that he was contacted by the Conroe Police Department on February 11, 2016 at 2:30 AM in reference to recovering his vehicle on Interstate 45. The complainant stated his vehicle was removed from the Sam Houston Village Parking Garage without his consent sometime after February 9, 2016 at Noon. At that time the subject expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-2184, 2:34 PM, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Minor in Possession of Alcohol: An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” call. Upon arrival, the officer responded to a room where the odor of burnt marijuana could be detected emanating from within. At this time the officer made contact with a resident and a student inside the room. During the investigation it was determined the resident was a minor (under 21), was in possession of drug paraphernalia and alcohol. Therefore, the resident was issued citations for “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia” and “Minor in Possession of Alcohol”; both Class “C” Misdemeanor offenses.

16-2190, 3:54 PM, Burglary of Motor Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to the Jackson Shaver (P44) parking lot, located at 1300 17th Street, in reference to a “Burglary of Motor Vehicle” report. A student reported that his vehicle was broken into between February 10, 2016 at 10:30 PM and February 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM. The complainant reported a pair of sunglasses and a jacket were removed without his consent. Additionally, damages to the exterior and interior of the vehicle were observed. At this time the subject expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-2192, 4:11 PM, Burglary of Motor Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Burglary of Motor Vehicle” report. Officer spoke with a student via telephone in reference to his vehicle being broken into while parked in the Jackson Shaver (P44) parking lot, located at 1300 17th Street. The complainant reported the incident occurred between February 10, 2016 at 4:00 PM and February 11, 2016 at 4:00 PM. According to the subject multiple times were removed from the vehicle without his consent. Additionally, the complainant reported his driver’s side door handle was broken to gain access to the vehicle. At that time the victim indicated he wished to file a formal criminal complaint. A report was filed.

16-2062, 3:57 PM, Criminal Mischief: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “criminal mischief” report. A student reported that their vehicle was damaged between January 30, 2016 and February 5, 2016 while parked in the Estill Dorm parking lot (P39), located at 1002 Bearkat Boulevard. When asked, the complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-2064, 4:11 PM, Theft: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “theft” report. A student reported her green fanny pack was taken on February 6, 2016 while attending an event at the Old Main Pit, located at 1009 17th Street. The student stated she left the fanny pack unattended to take photographs. In addition to the fanny pack the student reported her BearkatOne card, Texas driver’s license and U. S. Currency were taken. When asked, the complainant expressed she did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Non-Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-2069 (16-1977 Duty Upon Striking), 6:32 PM, Follow-Up Investigation: An officer met with a suspect at the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a prior “Duty Upon Striking” report to obtain their side of the incident. Further information was collected for the detective investigating the case. A supplemental report was filed.

16-1955, 10:20 AM, Violation of Student Code of Conduct: An officer was dispatched to Anne Shaver House, located at 1619 Avenue J, in reference to a “suspicious odor” call. Residence Life staff reported detecting the odor of marijuana inside the dorm room. Officer made contact with residents of the dorm room in question and one resident was determined to be the source due to smoking marijuana.  It should be noted that no contraband was found during the investigation. A report was filed.

16-1977, 3:35 PM, Duty Upon Striking: An officer was dispatched to the P12 parking lot, located at 1900 Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a “duty upon striking” report. A student reported that his vehicle was damaged between 9:45 AM and 3:30 PM while parked at the aforementioned location. The complainant provided information of a possible suspect vehicle that caused the damages and was observed by a witness. When asked, the complainant expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “prosecution request form.” A report was filed.

16-1994, 7:24 PM, Assault: An officer was dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to an “assault” report. The officer met with a resident who received unwanted contact from another resident over the victim taking the actors chair in the break room. When asked, the victim expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint. The actor was issued a citation for “Assault: By Contact”, a Class “C” Misdemeanor offense then released. A report was filed.

16-1918, Violation of Student Code of Conduct: At 1:22 AM, an officer was dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall (1201 17th Street) in reference to a "welfare concern" report.  Upon arrival, an officer met with a resident adviser in reference to an intoxicated male who was now in his room.  Upon locating the male, the officer determined that the male was very intoxicated and under the age of 21.  After reviewing the situation, the officer left the male in the care of friends.  A copy of this report will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-1929, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 4:33 PM, an officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to issuing a student a “criminal trespass warning” for all of resident life property. The student was issued the warning at the request of the resident advisor on scene after the student had been evicted from student housing. A report was filed.

16-1932, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 6:07 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Estill Hall, located at 1002 16th Street, in reference to issuing a student a “criminal trespass warning” for all of resident life property. The student was issued the warning at the request of the resident advisor on scene after the student had been evicted from student housing. A report was filed.

16-1938, Possession of Marijuana: At 10:16 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the HEB parking lot, located at 2304 Sam Houston Avenue, on a green Honda 2-door. During the traffic stop, the driver was discovered to be in possession of marijuana and arrested. An offense report was completed.

16-1870, Criminal Trespass: At 9:59 AM, While patrolling near Estill Hall, located at 1002 16th Street, an officer observed a male subject who was known to have an active criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property. The subject was arrested and a report was filed.

16-1873, Sexual Assault: at 11:12 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Huntsville Police Department, located at 1220 11th Street, in reference to assisting the Huntsville Police Department with a sexual assault reported by a Sam Houston State University student. During the investigation, it was discovered that the sexual assault happened in Houston, Texas and the student was referred to the Houston Police Department. The Student was given a “victims assistance” packet and a CSA report was filed.

16-1876, Minor in Possession of Alcohol: At 12:22 PM, while conducting a foot patrol of Shenanigans, located at 1548 11th Street, an officer was alerted by the bar staff of a minor in possession of alcohol. The minor was arrested and a report was filed.

16-1906, Possession of Marijuana: At 9:26 PM, an officer observed a vehicle parked in a handicap space in the Bearkat Village parking lot, located at 2401 Montgomery Road. While checking the vehicle for the proper handicap permit, the officer observed smoke emanating from the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana. During the investigation, a student was found to be in possession of marijuana. The student was arrested and a report was filed.

16-1815, Stalking, 11:16 AM: A female subject advised that a known male subject has been following her around campus and attempting to contact her. He wrote her a letter advising that if she did not talk to him that he would make sure that her career is ended. An offense report was filed an investigation is ongoing.

16-1824, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued, 2:37 PM: After an eviction by Residence Life staff, a Criminal Trespass Warning was issued to a student at Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road) for all of the Sam Houston State University residential units. A report was filed.

16-1855, Violation of Student Code of Conduct, 11:09 PM: One fraternity took the wooden letters of another fraternity from the central campus area (1800 block of Avenue I). The complainant knew who took the letters and provided subsequent suspect information. The suspect was contacted by UPD and the letters were returned, but were damaged. The parties agreed to resolve the incident civilly. New letters will be constructed by the responsible parties. A report was completed noting the conduct and will be submitted to the Dean of Students' Office for review.

16-1735, 11:41 AM, Assault: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to an “assault” report. A student reported on February 2, 2016 while in the parking lot of her off campus apartment complex at the Vineyard Apartments, located at 2615 El Toro, she was approached by a suspicious male subject. At that time the victim stated she was walking her dog between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM when the male subject asked suspicious and personal questions making her feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the male suspect made some rude comments then inappropriately touched the victim. Furthermore, the victim expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-1764, 6:21 PM, Assist Outside Agency/HPD: An Officer responded as a secondary unit with the Huntsville Police Department on a traffic stop in the 600 block of Palm Street. The investigation resulted in an arrest for “Driving While Intoxicated” and a drug offense by the Huntsville Police Department. A report was filed.

16-1766, 7:42 PM, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: An officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a resident being evicted from on campus housing. The student was issued a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all SHSU residence halls and escorted from the dorm. A report was filed.

16-1772, 9:25 PM, Assist Outside Agency/Warrant Service: An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Sam Houston Avenue. At that time a computerized inquiry into the drivers’ Texas driver’s license revealed two arrest warrants issued by the Huntsville Municipal Court for “Speeding” and “Violate Promise to Appear”; both Class “C” Misdemeanor offenses. The subject was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the aforementioned warrants. A report was filed.

16-1801, 2:38 AM, Assist Outside Agency/HPD: An officer was dispatched to the Walker County Jail, located at 655 FM 2821 West, to assist the Huntsville Police Department with operating the Intoxilyzer 5000.

16-1714, 10:44 PM, Possession of Marijuana: An officer was conducting a foot patrol in the P10 parking lot, located at 800 Bowers Boulevard, when the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The officer made contact with a female student occupying a nearby vehicle. While speaking with this student, the officer could detect the odor of burnt marijuana emanating stronger from within the vehicle. It was determined that the individual was in possession of marijuana. At that time the subject was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and charged with “Possession of Marijuana < 2oz”, a Class “B” Misdemeanor offense. An offense report was filed.

16-1605, 12:51 AM:  An officer responded to the area of the Arbors Apartments Complex (555 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to two suspicious males walking through the parking lot looking into vehicles.  The officer located two males, matching the description provided, attempting to leave the parking lot area.  Upon investigation, it was determined that the individuals were in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Two individuals were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and an offense report was completed.

16-1620, 9:30 AM, Theft: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “theft” report. A student reported his wallet was taken from his back pack while at the Intramural Field #2, located at 1800 Bobby K. Marks Drive. According to the complainant, the incident occurred on February 1, 2016 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The subject expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-1628, 12:40 PM, Criminal Trespass: Officers were dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2400 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Criminal Trespass” in progress report. A student with an active “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all SHSU residence halls was reported by Residence Life Staff to be at Bearkat Village. Upon the officer’s arrival, the subject in question was located and taken into custody for violation of the confirmed active “Criminal Trespass Warning.” The subject was transported to the Walker County Jail and charged with “Criminal Trespass”, a Class “B” Misdemeanor offense. Additionally, the subject was issued a current “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all Residence Life halls. A report was filed.

16-1635, 3:03 PM, Credit/Debit Card Abuse: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report. A student reported her wallet was taken from her back pack on February 1, 2016 between 8:50 AM and 12:10 PM while on campus. The complainant was notified later that day by Residence Life that her wallet was turned into them. Upon retrieving her wallet she observed her debit card and several gift cards were missing. According to the complainant her debit card was used to make several unauthorized transactions. When asked, the subject expressed she didn’t wish to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Non-Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-1486, Public Intoxication: At 1:33 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Jolly Fox parking lot, located at 2504 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to assisting the Huntsville Police Department with an intoxicated subject. During the investigation, the officer determined that the subject was a danger to himself and/or others and arrested the individual for the Class “C” Misdemeanor charge of “Public Intoxication.” A report was filed.

16-1441, Assist Outside Agency–Huntsville Police Department: At 2:56 AM, an officer responded to the area of University Club Apartments, located at 2435 Montgomery Road, in reference to assisting the Huntsville Police Department with a vehicle pursuit and subsequent foot pursuit. During the search, it was discovered that the vehicle originally used by the suspect had been reported stolen out of this agency. The vehicle was taken to the “City Service Center” for further investigation and removed from the TCIC/NCIC database. A report was filed.

16-1451, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 11:10 AM, an officer was dispatched to Jackson Shaver Hall, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to issuing a student a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all of resident life property. A report was filed.

16-1455, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 1:27 PM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to issuing a student a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all of resident life property. A report was filed.

16-1456, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 2:12 PM, an officer was dispatched to Houston House, located at 1661 Avenue J, in reference to issuing a student a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all of resident life property. A report was filed.

16-1457, Theft of Property: At 3:14 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “Theft of Property” report that occurred on Sunday January 17, 2016 between 5-7 PM. According to the complainant, she stored her IPad and her purse in a cubby in the main workout room to go work out. When she returned for her property, she discovered that her IPad was missing. A report was filed.

16-1476, Driving While License Suspended: At 9:41 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a black SUV in the Exxon Parking lot, located at 901 11th Street. At this time the officer discovered that the driver's license was suspended and there was no insurance on the vehicle. The Driver was arrested and charged with the Class "B" Misdemeanor Offense of "Driving While License Suspended with Previous Convictions without Proof of Financial Responsibility." 16-1407, 2:42 AM, Assist Outside Agency-HPD: An officer responded to the Walker County Jail, located at 655 FM 2821 West, to assist the Huntsville Police Department with operating the Intoxilyzer 5000. A report was filed.

16-1417, Possession of Marijuana: at 10:42 AM, an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2400 Montgomery Road, in reference to a report of a “suspicious odor.” A student was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested. An offense report was filed.

16-1422, Fire: At 3:33 PM, an officer was dispatched to Academic Building IV, located at 1921 Avenue J, in reference to a fire. The officer observed a contained fire near the east side of the Olson Auditorium (in a landscape area) that appeared to have been started by a discarded cigarette. The fire was extinguished and a report was filed.

16-1430, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 7:55 PM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to issuing two students a “criminal trespass warning” for all of resident life property. A report was filed.

16-1431, Suspicious Incident: at 8:48 PM, an officer was dispatched to speak with a complainant about an incident that occurred across the street from Pritchitt Field, located at 1721 Avenue O. According to the complainant, she observed an unknown male open the door of a white van and reveal himself naked to the public. A report was filed.

16-1434, Assist Outside Agency–Walker County Sheriffs Department: At 10:29 PM, an officer assisted the Walker County Sheriff’s Department with a vehicle pursuit and subsequent foot pursuit on Kalyn Road, located on US 190 East. A report was filed.

16-1440, Damage to University Property: At 1:36 AM, an officer was dispatched to Jackson Shaver Hall, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to a “suspicious odor” and smoke in the lobby. It was determined that an AC motor burned up causing the smoke and the odor. A report was filed.

16-1261, 9:12 AM, Criminal Mischief: An officer was dispatched to the P14 (Bowers Stadium) parking lot, located at 600 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “criminal mischief” report. A student reported the driver side rear tire of her rental vehicle was slashed on January 26, 2016 between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. This incident appears to be linked to a similar incident the complainant was involved in at her off campus residence. A report was filed.

16-1262, 9:46 AM, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: An officer was dispatched to Lone Star Hall, located at 910 Bearkat Boulevard, in reference to a “criminal trespass warning” call. The officer met with Residence Life staff who were needing a criminal trespass warning issued to a resident being evicted from on campus housing. The student was issued the warning for all on campus housing and escorted off the premises. A report was filed.

16-1289, 3:50 PM, Possession of Marijuana / Assist Outside Agency-Warrant Service: An officer responded to the Arbors Apartments, located at 555 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “suspicious odor” call. It should be noted this officer is a courtesy officer for this apartment complex and responded after receiving information of possible narcotic activity. Upon arrival to the apartment in question, the officer detected the overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from within the residence. The officer made contact with the occupants of the apartment and a resident admitted to being in possession of marijuana. Additionally, a computerized inquiry into the subjects Texas identification card revealed an active warrant issued by Garza County for “Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility”, a Third Degree Felony. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail. At the jail, the individual was booked on the warrant and charged with “Possession of Marijuana<2oz”, a Class “B” Misdemeanor. An offense report was completed.

16-1290, 4:09 PM, Welfare Concern: Officers were dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “welfare concern” report. The University Police Department dispatch received several erratic phone calls from a male subject during the course of 24 hours with the most recent being able to determine the subject was on campus. Officers located the individual in question in the area of the LSC and Sam Houston Parking Garage. During the investigation, it was determined the subject was in need of a psychiatric evaluation and was escorted to the Counseling Center. At that time it was determined the individual needed to be transported by the Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation. A report was filed.

16-1200, 10:11 AM, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: An officer was dispatched to Gibbs House, located at 1619 Avenue J, in reference to a resident being evicted from housing. The subject was issued a “criminal trespass warning” for all residence halls on campus and escorted off the premises. A report was filed.

16-1222, 3:31 PM, Missing Person: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “welfare concern” report.  A resident of Estill Hall, located at 1002 16th Street, was reported as a welfare concern due to the inability of being able to contact them. During the investigation, the individual was located and confirmed her welfare was fine. A report was filed.

16-1144, Damage to University Property: At 3:33 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum, located at 1964 Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a window being damaged. The investigating officer found the second window pane for Gate 14 to have a crack extending the entire width of the glass. At the time of the report its unknown how the window received the damage. Coliseum staff has submitted a work order to have the window repaired.

16-1167, Burglary of Motor Vehicle: At 8:47 PM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department to meet with a complainant about a burglary of motor vehicle that occurred in the P18 parking lot, located at 2000 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive. A SHSU Student advised his black/red/grey backpack containing numerous miscellaneous items was taken from the vehicle on this date between 6:10 PM and 8:00 PM. There were no distinct signs of forced entry other than markings around the driver’s side door lock. An offense report was completed.

16-1173, Possession of Marijuana & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: At 10:00 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive. During the traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded 0.11 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia items. Subsequently, A SHSU student was arrested for the above mentioned charges. An offense report was completed.

16-1176, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: At 11:01 PM, officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to the odor of marijuana emitting from a dorm room. Officers made contact with the two assigned residents of the dorm room and their two guest. Officers were denied consent to search the dorm room.  At this time a search warrant was obtained for the residence. A search of the dorm room yielded numerous drug paraphernalia items with one resident of the dorm room being taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia. All four occupants are SHSU students and live on campus in residence halls. An offense report was completed.

January 24, 2016
16-1068, Aggravated Robbery: At 3:01 PM, A SHSU student reported he was robbed at gunpoint in the Raven Village Dormitory parking lot, located in the 2100 block of Avenue I. The victim stated that he met with a black make individual in the parking lot to sell him a cellphone. The transaction occurred inside the victim’s vehicle with the black male suspect pulling a handgun on the victim. An additional black male approached the victim on the driver’s side of his vehicle and also pointed a handgun at the victim. The suspects removed money, jewelry and cellphone from the victim. The complainant was able to recover his jewelry and cellphone from the suspects by asking for it back. During the investigation the victim was not very forthcoming with information about the incident. In addition, during the investigation officers could smell the distinct odor of marijuana in the victim's residence.  After completing the initial investigation, officers attempted to investigate the suspicious odor.  At this time, due to other priority calls, a search warrant could not be obtained.  An offense report was completed and an investigation continues. It should be noted that after reviewing all relevant information at the time of this report, a determination was made that there was no immediate threat to the University community.

16-1070, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 3:24 PM, an officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to issuing a SHSU student a criminal trespass warning for all Residence Life facilities. The student had been evicted from the residential unit with the warning being issued upon the request of Residence Life. A report was filed.

16-1072,Criminal Trespass Warning Issued: At 3:39 PM, an officer  was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2400 Montgomery Road, in reference to issuing two SHSU students criminal trespass warnings for all Residence Life facilities. The students had been evicted from the dormitory with the warning being issued upon the request of Residence Life. A report was filed.

16-1075, Welfare Concern: At 4:02 PM, officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue in reference to a resident making statements about causing bodily harm to herself. The Officers made contact with the person of concern and did not notice any visible signs of injury. The student voluntarily went to Huntsville Memorial Hospital emergency room for medical evaluation. The SHSU Crisis Team Counselor and Dean of Students' was contacted and made aware of the situation. A report was filed.

16-1114, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: At 11:43 PM, while conducting a traffic stop in the 800 block of Bowers Boulevard, an officer discovered one of the passengers to be in possession of a spice grinder containing marijuana residue. The passenger with the spice grinder was issued a citation for the Class “C” Misdemeanor offense of “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia” and released. The spice grinder was taken back to the University Police Department and entered as evidence. An offense report was filed.

16-1036, Assist Outside Agency – Warrant Service – 6:15 PM: While conducting a traffic stop in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot, located at 2421 Sam Houston Avenue, the officer discovered that the driver had multiple outstanding warrants out of Harris County. The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-1042, Theft of Property, 8:41 PM: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department in reference to a “Theft of Property” report that occurred in the Dan Rather Communications Building, located at 1804 Avenue J. The student advised that he believes his cell phone fell out of his pocket while he was walking in one of the hallways of the building. When the student returned to look for the phone, it was no longer in the building. A report was filed.

16-1045, Criminal Trespass Warning, 8:50 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a "Criminal Trespass Warning" report. 16-963, Credit/Debit Card Abuse, 3:59 PM: An officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report. An employee advised that they found fraudulent transactions on one of the University’s purchasing credit card.  A report was filed.

16-863, 10:55 AM, Motor Vehicle Theft: An officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a “motor vehicle theft” report. A resident reported that his vehicle was taken from the Raven Village parking lot (2100 block of Avenue I) between January 20, 2016 at 10:00 PM and January 21, 2016 at 8:30 AM. An offense report was completed and the vehicle was entered into the state's stolen files database.

16-869, 12:20 PM, Theft: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “theft” report. A student reported that his laptop was taken from a classroom in the Lee Drain Building, located at 1900 Avenue I. The subject reported the laptop was taken on January 19, 2016 between 11:00 AM and 12:45 PM. The student expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and an offense report was filed.

16-878, 1:28 PM, Assist Outside Agency/HPD: An officer was dispatched to the Arbors Apartments, located at 555 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to narcotic information connected with a recent case. The investigation yielded possible further evidence for the investigation of the case.

16-879, 1:52 PM, Assist Outside Agency-Warrant Service: An officer was dispatched to the P26 (Administration) parking lot, located at 1900 University Avenue, in reference to a minor vehicle crash report. During the investigation, a computerized inquiry into a female's Texas driver’s license revealed two active warrants issued by the Huntsville Municipal Court. The subject was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the warrants. A report was filed.

16-801, 10:14 AM, Found Property: An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Found Property” report. An employee with Aztec cleaning services reported finding a small plastic baggie containing marijuana while picking up trash on the grounds. The baggie was collected so it could be properly disposed of.

16-805, 11:09 AM, Welfare Concern: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “welfare concern” report. A student reported that her ex-boyfriend was making suicidal comments, none appearing to be recent but was concerned for his welfare. A report was filed.

16-812, 1:03 PM, Theft: An Officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “theft” report. A student reported her bicycle was taken from a bike rack by Elliot Hall, located at 1006 17th Street. The bicycle was reported being taken between December 12, 2015 and January 12, 2016. When asked, the complainant did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint and only wished to have the incident documented.

16-818, 2:57 PM, Assist Outside Agency-Warrant Service: An officer conducted a traffic stop at 1615 Sycamore Avenue. During the traffic stop, a inquiry into the driver’s Texas driver’s license revealed an active arrest warrant issued by Brazos County. The subject was taken into custody on the confirmed warrant and transported to the Walker County Jail. A report was filed.

16-837, 10:53 PM, Delivery of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: While conducting a close patrol at the Arbors Apartments, located at 555 Bowers Boulevard, an officer detected the odor of marijuana and determined it was emanating from a vehicle. The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, observed smoke bellow from within the vehicle and detected a strong odor of marijuana. It was determined the occupants of the vehicle were in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The officer observed the marijuana was packaged consistent with the intention to deliver for individual sell. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail. A male non-student and female student were charged with “Delivery of Marijuana > 1/4oz<=5lbs”, a State Jail Felony. Additionally, the male subject was issued an instanter citation for “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia”, a Class “C” Misdemeanor offense.

16-724, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, 2:27 AM:  Two subjects were discovered smoking marijuana in a vehicle in a university parking lot in the 2100 block of Avenue I. Both subjects were arrested. One of the subjects had cocaine concealed on their person and it was discovered during the thorough search at the jail.

16-737, 10:33 AM, Lost Property: An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Lost Property” report. An international student reported that her Netherlands driver’s license is missing and most likely lost it between December 19, 2015 and December 20, 2015. The student reported she left her driver’s license in her off campus apartment at the end of the fall 2015 semester, left to go home and could not locate it upon returning for school. A report was filed.

16-750, 2:13 PM, Theft: An officer was dispatched to the Jackson-Shaver #2 parking lot (P44), located at 1300 17th Street, in reference to a “Theft” report. A student reported that his drop hitch, trailer ball and pin lock were missing from his pick-up. The subject advised the items were taken between January 18, 2016 at 9:00 PM and January 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM. At that time the individual expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” A report was filed.

16-762, 4:56 PM, Medical Assist: An officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, to assist with a medical related issue.

16-776, 7:50 PM, Possession of Inhalant Paraphernalia Deliver/Sell/Possession of Marijuana/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” call. Upon the officers arrival, the odor of marijuana could be detected emitting from the apartment in question. After making contact at the apartment it was determined that the resident was in possession of an inhalant with the intent to deliver and/or sell, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The resident was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail.

16-784, 11:35 PM, Assist Outside Agency-Warrant Service: An officer conducted a traffic stop at the Exxon, located at 558 IH 45 South. A computerized inquiry into the driver’s Texas driver’s license revealed an active arrest warrant issued by the Huntsville Municipal Court. The subject was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the aforementioned warrant. A report was filed.

A computerized inquiry into the Texas driver’s license revealed an active warrant issued out of Montgomery County. 16-545, 9:13 PM, Possession of Marijuana – A student was found to be in possession of marijuana in a residence hall. An offense report was filed.

16-551, 10:04 PM, Possession of Dangerous Drug / Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Minor in Possession-Alcohol: An officer was dispatched to Gibbs House, located at 1619 Avenue J, in reference to a “suspicious odor” call. A resident was found to be in possession of a prescription medication, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The resident, who was a minor, was also found to be in possession of alcohol. The subject was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County jail and booked on the aforementioned offenses. An offense report was filed.

16-552, 10:14 PM, Traffic Arrest: An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of University Avenue and took the driver into custody for a traffic offense. The subject was transported to the Walker County Jail. An offense report was filed.

16-553, 10:18 PM, Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Violation of Student Code of Conduct: An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “suspicious odor” call. Officers detected an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from an apartment. Officers then made contact with the occupants of the apartment where the resident and other occupants admitted to smoking marijuana. It was determined the resident was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Three other students on scene who admitted to smoking the marijuana as well were found to be in violation of the student code of conduct. The resident was transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the offenses of “Possession of Marijuana” and “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.” An offense report was filed.

16-431,Traffic Arrest/AOA Warrant Service: At 2:40 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Sam Houston Avenue which led to the driver being taken into custody for two outstanding Huntsville Municipal Court arrest warrants and for a traffic offense of “No Insurance.” Additionally, the passenger of the vehicle was taken into custody for an outstanding Huntsville Municipal Court arrest warrant. 16-395, Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle: At 12:38 PM, an officer was dispatched to the P23 parking lot, located in the 2100 block of Avenue I, in reference to a 2001 Ford 4 door passenger car being damaged by an unknown actor vehicle. The incident occurred between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM. The actor vehicle is believed to be a 2005-2009 Toyota Corolla from evidence collected at the scene.

16-408, Possession of Marijuana: At 5:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a “suspicious odor” call reported by the on-duty resident advisor. Officers made contact with three occupants inside the dorm room where the smell of marijuana was emitting from. During the investigation, the officers obtained voluntary consent to search with the resident of the room who voluntarily surrendered 0.53 Ounces of marijuana. Additionally, the resident was found to be in possession of a pistol pellet gun that was taken upon the consent of the resident for safekeeping and for violating residence life policy. The resident of the dorm room was taken
into custody for possession of marijuana (MB). The other two occupants were allowed to leave the scene and return to their respective dormitories on campus. An offense report was completed.

January 11, 2016
16-352, Assault Family Violence: At 5:50 PM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department in reference to a SHSU student who was assaulted by an ex-girlfriend off campus. The incident occurred while both individuals were traveling in the complainant’s vehicle on the west service road in area Target, located at 259 IH-45 South. The complainant traveled to the University
Police Department with the suspect still in the vehicle to make a formal report. Upon arrival at the University Police Department (2424 Sam Houston Avenue) the suspect fled on foot before officers could make contact with either of the involved parties. The surrounding area was searched with the suspect not being located. An offense report was completed.

16-358, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Minor in Possession-Alcohol: At 9:23 PM, an officer was dispatched to Estill Hall, located at 1002 16th Street, in reference to “suspicious odor” call reported by the on-duty resident adviser. Officers detected the odor of marijuana emitting from a dorm room inside the residence hall on the 2nd floor. Officers made contact with one of the residents of the dorm room and obtained verbal consent to search the room. The search yielded marijuana, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and several alcoholic beverages. The resident (an 18 year-old female) claimed ownership of all the above mentioned items at which point the resident was taken into custody. The resident was charged with Possession of Marijuana (MB), Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1>=4G<200G (F2), Possession of  Drug Paraphernalia (MC) and Minor in Possession-Alcohol (MC). An offense report was completed.

16-321,Driving While License Invalid & Public Intoxication: At 9:35 PM, officers responded to the area of Zach’s Bar & Grill, located at 2707 Sam Houston Avenue, to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a “domestic in progress” call. Prior to the UPD officers’ arrival, an on scene HPD officer advised the suspect was fleeing the establishment in a silver Ford pickup. SHSU PD officers observed the suspect vehicle fleeing the location and conducted a traffic stop on said vehicle in the 2400 block of Montgomery Road. During HPD’s investigation at Zach’s Bar & Grill it was determined an offense had not occurred at that location. While conducting the traffic stop investigation, UPD officers discovered the driver of the silver Ford was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. The driver was taken into custody for the Class “C” Misdemeanor offense of “Driving While License Invalid.” The passenger of the silver Ford was found to be intoxicated and determined to be a danger to himself or others if released. Subsequently, the passenger was arrested for the Class “C” Misdemeanor offense of “Public Intoxication.” An arrest offense report was filed.

16-267, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued & Assist Outside Agency Warrant Service:  At 11:37 AM, officers were dispatched to a welfare concern in the 800 block of Bowers Boulevard regarding a male individual that was walking in the area, but having difficulty maintaining balance. Upon the officer's arrival, it was determined that the subject had several active warrants with the Huntsville Municipal Court. The subject was also issued a criminal trespass warning for Sam Houston State University. A report was filed.

16-271,  Domestic Incident:  At 2:40 PM, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress in the lobby of Estill Hall, located at 1002 Bearkat Boulevard, regarding a physical altercation between a father and daughter. Witnesses reported that the father dragging the female into the residence hall and physically assaulting her. Upon officer's arrival it was determined no criminal offense took place and subjects were both peaceful. An incident report was filed.

16-206, 9:04 PM, Theft: An officer was dispatched to the Coliseum, located at 1964 Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a “Theft” report. A basketball coach from a visiting team here for a game reported that his “Apple” iPhone 6 Plus was taken from his suitcase that was in a locker room between 6:45 PM and 8:30 PM. The complainant expressed he wished to file a formal criminal complaint and signed a “Prosecution Form.” An offense report was completed.

16-162, Traffic Arrest: At 4:59 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Lake Road which lead to the driver being taken into custody for driving on a license that was invalid/suspended and no insurance. A report was completed.

16-115, Credit/Debit Card Abuse: At 3:51 PM, A SHSU student reported discovering numerous fraudulent transactions made on their credit card at several different locations outside of Huntsville, Texas. Information was gathered with an offense report was completed.

16-096, Possession of Marijuana (MB): At 11:21 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Montgomery Road for a traffic violation.  During the traffic stop, a female was arrested for possession of marijuana. A offense report was completed.

16-038, 10:08 PM - Traffic Arrest: Subsequent to a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle held twelve active suspensions on their driver license and had no insurance. The driver was arrested and a report was completed.
