September 5, 2014
14-12590, Violation Student Code of Conduct:  At 1:08 AM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a welfare concern.  While en-route to the call, dispatchers notified officers of a possible intoxicated female being assisted to a dorm room.  Upon arrival, an officer was able to locate the female and determined that she was highly intoxicated and did not live at Sam Houston Village.  The female was released to a sober female student and Residence Life Staff was alerted.  Due the female being a minor under the age of 21, a report was completed documenting the incident and a copy  will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for review.

14-12591, Violation Student Code of Conduct:  At 2:09 AM, officers were again dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a highly intoxicated male subject being assisted to his residence.  Officers located the male and he was determined to be under the age of 21, and the female assisting him to his room did not live at the location.   Residence Life staff were contacted and notfied of the incident.  A report documenting the incident was completed and will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for review.  The female was escorted to her residence.


September 4, 2014
14-12519, Possession of Marijuana: At 12:08 AM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to suspicious odor call. Officer spoke with both residents of the dorm room in question and obtained voluntary written consent to search. Subsequently, one resident was taken into custody for the charge of possession of marijuana. An offense report was completed.

14-12536, Suspicious Odor:  At 10:45 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiolgy Center, 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a possible gas leak.  During the investigation, it was determined that there was no gas leak and the incident was referred to the Officer of Risk Management.

14-12549, Assist Outside Agency: At 2:38 PM, an officer met with a complainant at the University Police Department in reference to a reported assault.  Once the location was determined to have occurred at an off campus apartment complex, the Huntville Police Department was contacted and the incident was referred for thier investigation.

14-12585, Medcial Assist:  An officer responded to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) at 10:26 PM to assist with a reported medical call.

14-12426, Violation of Student Code of Conduct: At 12:13 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a suspicious odor call. The University Police Department was contacted by the on-call Resident Advisor about the smell of brunt marijuana emitting from a residence at Bearkat Village. Officer made contact with the resident and was informed that he had smoked marijuana at an unknown location off-campus. The resident gave voluntary consent to search his dorm room, which yielded no contraband being located. An incident report was completed and will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

14-12458, Assisted Outside Agency Warrant Service: At 10:37 AM, an individual was arrested for two outstanding Huntsville Municipal Court warrants while an officer was investigating a parking complaint at the Sam Houston Parking Garage, located at 1730 Avenue I. The individual was transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-12469, Duty Upon Striking: At 2:51 PM, an officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while it was parked in the 2100 block of Avenue J, in a university parking area.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed.

14-12479, Theft: At 4:54 PM, a student reported that their Samsung Galaxy S-3 cellphone and two hundred dollars in US Currency were taken from a dorm room at White Hall, located at 2101 Avenue J. An offense report was completed.

14-12340, Medical: At 7:18 AM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) to assist with a reported medical call.

14-12347, Credit Card Abuse: An officer was dispatched to the CHSS Building (1901 Avenue I) where he met with a University staff member who reported that their department purchasing credit card had fraudulent charges on the account.  Information was obtained and a criminal offense report was completed.

14-12381, Duty Upon Striking: An officer was dispatched 10:20 PM to the 1000 block of 16th Street to meet with a complainant.  Upon arrival, the victim reported that her vehicle was damaged while parked behind Lone Star Hall (900 Block 16th Street) on August 29th by an unknown vehicle.  Information was obtained and a criminal offense report was completed.

14-12416, Violation Of Student Code of Conduct: At 10:22 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Estill Hall, located at 1002 16th Street, in reference to a supervisory alarm call. The officer was able to determined that a smoke detector was triggered when a resident was smoking marijuana inside their dorm room. The officer obtained voluntary consent to search the dorm room in question; however, no contraband was located. A incident report was completed and will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

14-12305 - Duty Upon Striking Unattended Motor Vehicle: At 12:41 PM, an officer noted that a student's vehicle was damaged by an unknown actor vehicle while parked in the Sam Houston Parking Garage (1703 Avenue I).  At the time of this report there was no suspect or witness information.

14-12333 - Violation of Student Code of Conduct:  At 11:01 PM, an officer was dispatched Jackson-Shaver Hall (1201 17th Street) in reference to a suspicious odor report.  During the investigation, the officer determined that the residence and student in question had been in possession of marijuana due to contraband items found in the room.  Information was obtained and a copy of this report will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review since the resident was not on scene.

14-12273, Assist Outside Agency:  At 2:31 AM, a vehicle involved in a disturbance in the City of Huntsville was stopped by a University Police for a traffic offense.  During the traffic stop, the driver was arrested for traffic offenses, a passenger was arrested for Public Intoxication, and a third passenger was arrested for outstanding municipal warrants.

14-12281, Medical Assist: At 3:48 PM, an officer responded to Bowers Field House (620 Bowers Boulevard) to assist with a medical call.

14-12287, Damaged University Property:  At 8:37 PM, an officer observed a damaged handicap parking sign in the 1900 block of Bobby K Marks Drive.  The damage was noted so that repairs could be made.

14-12166, Public Intoxication: At 12:45 AM, while patrolling in the 1500 block of 11th Street, an officer observed and identified a non-university student causing a disturbance in the parking lot near a local business. Upon contact with the individual, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverages emitting from the individual’s person. It was determined the individual was a danger to himself and the public at which point he was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail.  At the jail he was charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

14-12200, Theft: At 11:57 AM, an officer was dispatched the Barnes and Nobles bookstore, located inside the Lowman Student Center as 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “theft” call. Officers made contact with an off-duty, out of county police officer who observed a male subject to leave the bookstore without paying for an item. The individual was identified as a SHSU student and it was later determined that the individual had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for the charge of “Theft”. The individual was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant and transported to the Walker County Jail. 

14-12211, Interference with Duties of Public Servant: At 2:26 PM, officers were dispatched to the Registrar’s Office, located at 1903 University Avenue, in reference to an “Unruly Person”. A former SHSU student met with Registrar staff regarding his enrollment status for the Fall 2014 semester, and during their conversation became very irate and refused to leave the premises when asked. Officers arrived and during the course of the investigation the individual became combative with one of the officers on scene at which time the individual was placed under arrest for “Interference with Duties of Public Servant”.

14-12212, Damage to University Property: At 4:02 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Criminal Justice Center, located at 816 17th Street, in reference to a window that had been damaged. The window had a quarter inch diameter hole and was most likely caused by a lawn mower due to the officer’s findings at the time of the report.

14-12214, Theft:  At 4:34 PM, a SHSU student reported that his wallet was stolen at the Lee Drain Building, located at 1900 Avenue I, after leaving it in an unknown room on an unknown floor. The student was unsure if he left his wallet at the Lee Drain Building or elsewhere at the time of the report.

14-12131, Fire Alarm:  At 4:10 PM, an officer was dispatched to Elliot Hall, located at 1006 17th Street, in reference to active Fire Panel Alarm. Upon arrival, the officer discovered that an unknown person attempted to re-heat food in an aluminum take-out container in the microwave located in the laundry room. This action caused the container to burn triggering the fire alarm. The laundry room was ventilated and there was no further signs of danger to the residents with them being allowed back into the dormitory.

14-12034 - Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle - At 5:28 PM, an officer was dispatched to the P24 parking lot, located in the 1100 block of Bowers Boulevard, where a Sam Houston State University employee reported that between 7:30 AM and 5:20 PM on August 27th, 2014 an unknown vehicle caused minor damage to his vehicle. An offense report was completed.

14-12074 - Possession of Marijuana - At 11:54 PM, an officer was dispatched to the ZTA House, located at 1661 Avenue J, in reference to a suspicious odor report. The officer made contact with the occupants of a dorm room and obtained written consent to search the room.  During the search of the room, th officer located a useable amount of marijuana with one of the occupants claiming ownership of the marijuana. The individual was taken into custody for the offenses of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 18 year-old female student was transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-11937 - Lost Property - At 7:25 PM, an officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall, located at 1008 17th Street in reference to a “Theft” that occurred at the Health and Kinesiology Center (HKC), located at 801 Bowers Boulevard. A student reported placing personal items inside one of the non-lockable storage bins at the HKC. Upon returning to the storage bin after exercising the complainant discovered the items were missing. The officer was able to review the security camera footage and learned the items were not stolen and had been misplaced by the complainant. The Officer took possession of the items and returned them to the complainant. A lost property report was completed.

14-11957 - Assist Outside Agency Warrant Service - At 12:26 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Josey Street for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop investigation, a non-student individual was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Walker County Court at Law for the charge of “Failed to Appear” with the original charge being “Possession of Marijuana.” The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-11788 - Fight in Progress - At 1:43 PM, an officer was dispatched to Lone Star Hall (900 block of Bearkat Boulevard) in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, the officer identifed two female family members involved in a physical altercation.  After determining the primary aggressor, a female was arrested for Assault Family Violence.

14-11789 - Damaged University Property - At 3:50 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Music Building (1700 block Avenue I) in reference to a report of damaged university property.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a student who reported that they were participating in flag drills when a cap from the flag pole came off and struck a glass pane in a door, causing the glass to shatter.

14-11717 - Possession of Marijuana: At 1:23 AM, an officer located a suspicious vehicle parked inside the Ag Complex, located at 440 IH-45, occupied by a non-student. The occupant exhibited signs of intoxication and admitted to being under the influence of marijuana. Additionally, the occupant admitted to having a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a usuable amount of contraband.  Subsequently, the occupant was arrested for the offense of possession of marijuana.

14-11760 - Theft - At 4:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2400 block Montgomery Road) where a student reported that a box of pts and pans were missing after a group assisted her in moving into her residence.  No suspects could be identified and the property was not located.  An offense report was completed.

14-11766 - Motor Vehicle Accident - At 5:46 PM, an officer was advised of a single motor vehicle accident in the area of Avenue M and 17th Street.  The complainant stated that he was distracted by his cell phone, ran through a stop sign, and his vehicle drove into a parking area.  Due to the parking lot entrance and or structure, the vehicle sustained damage.

14-11713 - Assist Outside Agency-HPD: At 6:10 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard to assist the Huntsville Police Department with securing the scene of a Homicide that just occurred. Officer provide assistance with securing the crime scene and canvassing the immediate area which produced a witness to the incident being identified. A report was filed.

14-11639 - Evading Arrest/Detention - While in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue at 1:19 AM, officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the vehicle failed to pull over and began an attempt to evade the offcer.  The officer pusued the vehicle to the 800 block of 15th Street where the driver bailed from the car and a foot pursuit followed.  The driver was subsequently caught by the officer and arrested.

14-11585 - Theft - An officer was dispatched to the Veteran's Resource Center (1922 Avenue J) at 9:07 AM in reference to a fraudulent use of a license plate.  The victim stated that a previous license plate belonging to one of his prior vehicle involved in a collision (vehicle was a total loss) was being used in Florida on their tollway system.  The complainant advised that he was received notices of a balanced owed in Florida.  An offense report was completed.

14-11527: At 8:13 AM, Criminal Trespass Warning Issued - An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a recently terminated Aztec employee refusing to leave the premise. The employee became irate and extremely argumentative with the supervisor after being informed about the termination. The former employee was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for all SHSU property.

14-11495: 9:08 AM, Accident - A University Police Department officer assisted the Huntsville Police Department with a reported accident at the intersection of Sam Houston Avenue and Star Circle.  Upon arrival, it was reported that a Univeristy owned vehicle was involved in an accident with an individual on a bicycle.

1400011290, Criminal Mischief at 9:45 AM, Officer dispatched to the Residence Life Main Office, located at 2133 Avenue I in reference an exterior doorknob being damaged. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 1:46 PM and was carried out by an unidentified male subject. The incident was captured on the surveillance camera system, but at the time of the report Residence Life did not wished to pursue criminal charges. A report was filed for administration purposes.

14-11139: Violation Code of Student Conduct - An officer was flagged down at 10:22 PM in the 1400 block of 19th Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident.  It was reported that one of the vehicles involved in the accident fled the scene.  A Huntville Police Department Officer arrived on scene to investigate the accident.  The University Police Officer followed a fluid train and located the vehicle a short time later.  Subsequently, the vehicle occupants were identified and is believed that alcohol was a factor.  The information was provided to the Huntsville Police Department.

14-11143: Criminal Trespass Warning Issued - A Huntsville Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked opn University Property located in the 600 block of 16th Street at 11:40 PM.  The officer contacted this department and an officer responded to the location.  Upon inquiry, it was determined that both subjects in the vehicle were not affiliated with the University and had extensive criminal histories.  Both were issued criminal trespass warnings for all SHSU property.

14-11096: Attack by Dangerous Dog - At 7:10 PM, an officer was dispatched to Pritchett Field (1721 Avenue O) in reference to a report of a dog bite.  Upon arrival, the officer found an abandoned dog that was tied to the fence.  The complainant reported that the dog had attached and bit their dog and in the process of helping their dog, they were bit.  The dog was transported to the Rita B Huff animal shelter and a report was completed.

14-11097: Medical Assist - A 7:13 PM, an officer responded to Bowers Field House (620 Bowers Boulevard) to assist with a medical call.

14-11008: Criminal Mischief - At 4:49 PM, an officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the 1900 block of University Avenue (parking area).  The victim reported that unknown person damaged their vehicle by scrathing the paint on the driver's side door area.  An offense report was completed.

14-11011: Criminal Mischief - At 7:02 PM, an officer met with a complainant who reported that their vehicle was damaged while parked in the 2000 block of Avenue J (Univeristy parking area).  The officer inspected the vehcile and noted damage to the passenger side of the vehicle that was consistant with "Keying".  An offense report was completed.

14-10872: Suspicious - While on patrol in the 1500 block of Sam Houston Avenue at 12:01 AM, an officer observed furniture at a local business that appeared to match couches that are used to furnish Univeristy Residence Halls.  The furniture displayed property numbers belonging to the Department of Residence Life and were documented.  An investigation is ongoing.

14-10853: An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Sycamore Avenue at 8:23 PM. A computerized inquiry revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Walker County. The driver was arrested and transported to the walker County Jail. 

14-10868: An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Sam Houston Avenue at 11:57 PM. A computerized inquiry revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Huntsville, Texas. The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

August 2, 2014
14-10823: An Officer assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 400 block of IH-45 north. A computerized inquiry revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant from the State of Georgia. After confirmation, the driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-10761: At 9:51 AM, an officer responded to the area of the Visitor's Center (1905 University Avenue) in reference to a report of a disturbance.  Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate the suspect.  After meeting with witnesses, the suspect was identified as female university student.  Information was obtained and a report was completed.  A copy of the report will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

July 30, 2014
14-10668: Assist Outside Agency - At 2:33 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Lucky Food Store, located at 1107 US 190 East, to assist the Walker County Sheriff’s Department with a burglary alarm call. Upon arrival, the Officer discovered the business had been burglarized and secured the scene. The Officer held the scene until the arrival of the Sheriff’s Department Deputy at which time the investigation and scene was turned over to the Deputy. 

July 29, 2014
14-10645: Criminal Trespass Warning Issued - At 12:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Museum grounds, located at 1836 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a suspicious person call. The suspicious person matched the description of a male suspect from a previous theft call at the museum grounds. While en-route to the museum grounds, the Officer located the individual several blocks south of the museum grounds and made contact with individual. During the course of the investigation the Officer learned the individual was a non-student and has an extensive criminal history. The individual was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for all Sam Houston State University Property. 

July 26, 2014

14-10513 - An Officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located in the 2400 block of Montgomery Road, in reference to a Violation of Student Code of Conduct report. The complainant, a resident advisor of Bearkat Village, stated that she heard a dog barking inside one of the rooms. The dog was located and the resident of the room was contacted. A report was completed and will be sent to the Department of Residence Life.  

14-10523 - An Officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Theft report. The complainant advised that he parked his bicycle outside the Lowman Student Center around 1:00 PM and when he returned at 5:00 PM it was not there. An offense report was completed.

July 25, 2014
14-10475 - Theft of Property - Officers took report where black male subject stole an iphone4, off of the front desk counter of the Museum (located 1836 Sam Houston Avenue) that belonged to the female employee on duty. Employee discovered that her phone was taken approximately 20 minutes later after watching subject oddly dart out the front door, running away from the Museum. An offense report was completed in reference to this subject.

14-10403 – Violation of Student Code of Conduct – A student at the Health and Kinesiology weight room failed to abide by the gym rules.  When confronted by the staff on scene, the student refused to provide his Bearkat One card and denied the fact that he was not following the rules.  A report was completed and will be sent to the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

14-10257: Assist Other Agency - At 1:39 AM, A university police officer responded to Ray Black Drive to secure passengers of a vehicle while a Huntsville police officer conducted a DWI investigation. A supplemental report was completed.

14-10248 - Public Intoxication - A university police officer located an individual at 6:30 PM in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue who was under the influence of PCP. The subject was arrested for Public Intoxication without incident. 

14-10251: Assist Other Agency - University Officers responded to the 500 block of Palm Street at 10:27 PM and secured evidence at certain locations as Huntsville Officers pursued a vehicle. All evidence was secured until it was retrieved by Huntsville officers.

14-10180: Breach of Computer Security - A complainant met with a University Police Officer at 3380 College Park Drive (The Woodlands Campus) in reference to a report regarding a former employee allegedly accessing a supervisor’s email account without consent in an unknown manner. Information was obtained and an investigation is ongoing.

14-10188: Officers responded to the southeast side of Art Building E at 2:02 PM for a report of graffiti. The word “Star” had been spray painted on the wall to the building. 

14-10195: Officers took a report for a “Violation of Student Code of Conduct” following a report that a student made claims of an intention to “blow up” the Higher One facilities located in Connecticut. Given the association between Higher One and Bearkat One Card Services, a report was filed.  A copy of this report will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

14-10207: A University Officer arrested the driver of a vehicle at 8:52 PM in the 1900 block of Sycamore Avenue for outstanding Walker County warrants as a result of a traffic stop. The vehicle was released to a licensed passenger, and a report was filed.

14-10132 - Credit Card Abuse - An officer met with staff of the Criminal Justice Department (817 17th Street) at 4:09 PM who reported fraudulent charges on the department credit card.  An international purchase for $96.13 was declined and a second charge for $1.65 was initially accepted and then canceled.  A report was filed.

July 16, 2014
14-10035 - Damaged University Property - An officer responded to the 2400 block of Montgomery Raod (Bearkat Village) at 7:44 AM in reference to a university sign being struck and pushed over. Upon arrival, the officer documented the damage and completed a report.

14-10036 - Damaged University Property - At 7:45 AM, an officer responded to Allen House (2002 Avenue I) where the complainant reported hearing a sharp noise and then noticing that their office window was damaged.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed.

14-10041 - Minor Vehicle Accident - At 9:51 AM, an officer responded to the intersection of 17th Street and Avenue J in reference to a single minor motor vehicle incident.  Upon the officer's arrival, the officer located a commericial vehicle that backed over a traffic sign.

14-9959 - Lost Property - International Programs reported their purchasing credit card as being lost. At this time there have been no frauduldent charges on the card.

14-9919 - At 9:58 PM, an Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Sycamore Avenue. A computerized inquiry revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant from Polk County. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

July 10, 2014
14-9715 - At 12:25 AM, while patrolling in the 2200 block of Avenue M, a suspicious vehicle was observed in the Josey Park parking lot. Upon making contact with the occupant and during the investigation one male individual was taken into custody for two outstanding Huntsville Municipal Court warrants. A report was filed.

14-9737 - Medical Assist - At 6:21 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Performing Arts Center, located at 1700 Avenue I, in reference to a Medical Assist call. A non-student female was complaining about being “light headed and jittery.” Walker County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was summoned and transported the female to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

July 8, 2014
14-9638 - At 12:10 AM, an officer was patrolling in the 1600 block of Avenue I when the sounds of fireworks or possible gun fire was heard.  It was determined that the sound was coming from the former Lady Bearkat Softball facility, located at 2300 of Avenue M. Upon investigation, it was determined that several students decided that it was a good idea to discharge fireworks on the softball field. A Violation of Student Code of Conduct report was filed.

14-9639 - At 12:17 AM, an officer observed a male stumbling from one side of the sidewalk to the other in the 1700 block of Sam Houston Avenue. The Officer conducted a pedestrian stop to check the welfare of the individual. The Officer immediately detected an overwhelming odor of alcoholic beverage. Due to the level of intoxication, he was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.  

14-9640 - At 12:58 AM, an officer was dispatched to Cedarwood Apartments to assist an outside agency with a disturbance. The officer assisted in restraining a subject that was resisting. A supplement report was filed. 

14-9657 - At 4:30 PM - Damage to University Property: An officer, while patrolling in the P24 parking lot, located in the 2000 block of Avenue J, noticed a parking lot lamp was damaged. The officer discovered the glass lens cover to the lamp was shattered and several pieces of glass were scattered on the ground near the lamp pole. It is unknown at this time if the damage was caused intentionally or was a matter of equipment failure. A work order was completed along with a report being filed.

14-9659 - 4:37 PM, Minor Accident: An officer was dispatched to a minor vehicle accident at the Teacher Education Center (TEC) parking lot, located at 1908 Bobby K. Marks Drive. Officer spoke with both involved parties and noted that the actor’s vehicle while attempting to back out of a parking space struck another vehicle causing minor damage to the front bumper of the victim’s vehicle. The individuals exchanged insurance information and a report was filed.

14-9654 - 5:15 PM, Damage Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a damaged vehicle call.  The vehicle was parked in the P23 parking lot, located in the 2300 block of Avenue I, and received damage to the passenger’s side window. It appears at this time that the damage was caused by a rock discharged from a SHSU Grounds lawn mower mowing the grassy area near the vehicle’s location. A report was filed.

While conducting a traffic stop on Pleasant Street at 1:55 AM, the officer determined that the driver was intoxicated.  Subsequently, the driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

14-9516, Assist Outside Agency Warrant Arrest: At 1:27 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Lake Road. During the traffic stop, the driver was determined to have an outstanding warrant of arrest.  The individual was arrested for an outstanding Walker County Court at Law Capias Pro-Fine warrant for the original charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

14-9534, Driving While Intoxicated:  At 11:47 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Smither Drive.  During the traffic stop the driver was determined to be intoxicated.  The driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

14-9502, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia & Criminal Trespass Warning Issued - 9:05 PM: An officer located a vehicle inside the SHSU Museum grounds, located at 1836 Sam Houston Avenue after hours. During the investigation, the officer obtained consent to search the vehicle and one non-student male was arrested for the offense of Posseession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Additionally, the male was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property.

14-9400 at 2:00 PM, Credit Card Abuse: Officer was dispatched to a report of a Sam Houston State University Procurement card being utilized by an unknown suspect(s) in Great Britain. The transactions were made via the internet with two of the three transactions not being approved. The procurement card has been cancelled and a report filed.

14-9409 at 5:05 PM, Damage to University Property: While on patrol in the 1600 block of Bobby K. Marks an officer noticed the cement bench located on the east side of Bobby K. Marks was damaged. It’s unknown at this time if the damage was caused intentionally or due to structural failure. A report was filed.

14-9364 – Criminal Mischief - A male student became upset when he was unable to meet with an advisor at the Evans Building.  The student then allegedly went into the hallway, near room #458, and punched a hole in the wall.  Upon arrival, at 1:32 PM, the officer spoke with the student and he denied causing the damage.  An investigation is underway and an offense report was completed.

14-9350 - An officer conducted a traffic stop at Sam Houston Avenue and Josey Street at 10:59 PM, and a computerized inquiry of the driver's name and date of birth revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail. A report was filed.

14-9275 - Graffiti - While on patrol in the 2000 block of Sam Houston Avenue (Art Complex), the officer observed what he believed to be graffiti on the building.  The officer noted the damages to the building and completed an offense report.

14-9276 - Evading - Officers were involved in a foot pursuit following a "fight in progress" call at the Jolly Fox Bar at 12:45 AM. One suspect was caught and placed under arrest. A report was filed.

14-9280 - Courtesy Transport - Officers were asked to assist in transporting a subject under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated by a Texas DPS Trooper. The individual was transported to the jail and supplement report was completed.

14-9174 - Harassment - At 5:01 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Farrington Building, located at 1908 Avenue J, in reference to a Harassment report. Upon arrival, the officer was advised that a student was receiving harassing messages, via Twitter, from a former employee of SHSU. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, she just wants the harassment to stop.

14-9175 - Criminal Mischief - At 5:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report. The officer was advised that while the victim was parked in the P12 parking lot, located in the 1900 Block of Bobby K Marks, an unknown individual cracked the victim’s windshield. The victim wishes to pursue criminal charges and a Criminal Mischief report was filed.

14-9182 - Medical Assist - At 8:29 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Coliseum, located at 1964 Bobby K Marks, to assist with a medical related call.

14-9134 - Harassment - At 8:04 PM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Harassment report.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the harassment has been sporadically on-going for the last several months.  The victim wished to pursue criminal charges and an offense report was completed.  Since the incident involved two university students, information will be shared with the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

14-9077 - At 9:28 AM, an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a Suspicious Incident. The complainant advised that one of the external A/C units had been overturned, and one A/C unit had been moved from its original location. Upon the inspection of the A/C units, it appeared that nothing was missing and both units were working properly. A report was completed noting the complainants concerns.

14-9002 - At 8:18 AM, a tractor trailer making a delivery backed over a stop sign, located at the intersection of Avenue J and 17th Street. An officer responded to the scene, identified the driver and vehicle, and filed a report of damage to university property.

14-9020 - At 9:20 PM, evening shift officers assisted Huntsville City PD in the security of a scene involving an intoxicated driver due to a shortage in city resources at the time. University officers transported two individuals into the city as a courtesy and dropped them at a local eatery. Supplement reports were completed in reference to the incident.

14-8884 - Burglary of a Building - At 10:17 AM, an officer was dispatched to Raven’s Nest Golf Club, located at 457 I-45, in reference to a Burglary of a Building report. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant who reported that beer was stolen from their shed. Information and scene processing was done at the location and an offense report was completed.

14-8875 – Possession of Marijuana - At 11:40 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop
on a vehicle in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue. Upon investigation, the
subject (minor under the age of 21) was found to be in possession of marijuana and in possession of alcohol.  The subject was taking into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail. At the jail the subject was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

14-8815 - Graffiti - At 10:43 AM, an Officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston State University Post Office in reference to a Graffiti report.  Upon arrival, the complainant advised that he believed that sometime during the early morning hours an unknown suspect(s) painted a white mail box with orange graffiti lettering.  The officer documented the information and completed an offense report.

14-8762 - Assist Other Agency/Huntsville Police Department - At 10:34 AM, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Highway 30 West to assist Huntsville PD with a Domestic Dispute.  Officers arrived on scene and secured the welfare of the victim until Huntsville Police Officers arrived on scene to take over the investigation.

14-8633 - Damaged Vehicle - At 5:18PM, an officer was dispatched to the Parking Garage, located at 1730 Avenue I, in reference to a damaged vehicle report. Upon arrival, it was found that the driver of a SHSU golf cart had struck a vehicle while backing. The owner of the truck was contacted and a civil damage forms were exchanged.

14-8562- Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia - At 10:04 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2300 block of Sam Houston Avenue. Upon investigation, the subject was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  The subject was taking into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail and charged with the above offenses.

14-8566 - Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle - At 12:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to P10, located in the 800 block of Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a legall parked and unattended vehicle with damage to the front bumper area of the vehicle.  Upon arrival, the owner was contacted and information was obtained. No suspect information was available and the vehicle had prior damage to the front end of her vehicle. The owner wishes to file criminal charges if a suspect is found.

14-8502 – Criminal Trespass Warning Issued – 12:41 AM – An officer located a white male
outside the Smith Hudson Building while on a foot patrol.  When the officer began speaking with the
subject he became verbally aggressive towards the officer, causing him to request a second officer.  The subject advised the he was currently homeless and that he was simply charging his cell phone and using free Wi-Fi internet.  Due to him being verbally aggressive, his extensive criminal history, and the fact that he is not currently enrolled in class, he was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for all Sam Houston State University property.  He verbally acknowledged the warning but refused to provide his signature.

14-8515 - Assist Other Agency - At 10:52AM, officers responded to a welfare concern on campus in reference to a report from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.  The student was located in class and escorted to the counseling center to receive help after his mother located a suicide note at his residence, located in Montgomery County.

14-8516 - Follow-up Investigation - At 12:02PM, the father of the subject involved in the welfare concern requested assistance in locating his son.  After searching campus, he was located via telephone as being in Willis Texas, headed home.  A supplement report was completed.

14-8536 - Assist Other Agency - At 9:50 PM, an officer was requested to assist a Huntsville Police officer with a “female search.”  The subject had been placed into custody for outstanding warrants and advised the officer that she had marijuana concealed inside her bra.  The University officer arrived and the marijuana was located.  A supplement to Huntsville Police Department’s original case was filed.

14-8452 - At 4:14 AM, an officer performed a welfare check on a vehicle parked on the shoulder of IH45 near the the 118 exit. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and a small amount of marijuana was found. The subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-8478 – Theft – 6:26 PM – A student reported his cell phone as being stolen from Health and Kinesiology Building.  He stated that a known person removed the cell phone from his back pack without his permission while he was playing basketball. The suspect is the victim’s ex-girlfriend with whom he shared a cell phone contract.  Once the two subjects ended the relationship they began having an ongoing argument over the phone and the phone bill.  The suspect advised officers that she had to send the phone back to T-Mobile in order to remove that phone line from the bill.  She was advised by officers that she may not take property from another person and she returned the phone.  The victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges at this time.

14-8434 -  At approximately 8:57 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Army National Guard Center, located at 1901 Veteran’s Boulevard, in reference to a criminal mischief report. The complainant advised the her vehicle was damaged while parked at the University Hotel, at 1:00 AM on June 8,
2014. The complainant stated that two individuals were involved in a physical altercation, and one was shoved into her vehicle causing a large dent in the left rear quarter panel.

14-8405 - At 6:11 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 Block of Sycamore Avenue, a computerized inquiry revealed that the driver had an active warrant out of Walker County. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail. 

14-8422 - At 10:45 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop, located in the 2000 block of Sycamore Avenue, and determined that the passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant from Huntsville Municipal Court. During the search of the subject, the officer located a small amount of marijuana. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail for multiple charges.

14-8329 - Violation of Student Code of Conduct - At 12:07AM, officers responded to Bearkat Village,
located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a Medical Assist report.  While en-route, officers were advised that the subject had smoked marijuana thirty minutes prior to contacting emergency medical services.  At this time the coplainant reported that she was suffering from an adverse effect from the drug.  While speaking with the subject, officers were advised that she did not know who she was with, where she smoked it, or what all was in the marijuana while it was being smoked.  The subject was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further evlaution.

14-8349 - Theft - At 2:15 PM, an officer was dispatched to the Health & Kinesiolgy Building (801 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to a theft report.  Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who reported that his secured locker was found unsecured with missing property.  A report was completed.

14-8351 - Damaged University Property - At 3:06 PM, an officer was dispatched to Adams House (located at 903 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to a damaged window.  Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who reported finding a chiped window with a hole in it.  Officer examined the damage and believes that it may be due to accidental discharge from a mower or another implement used in lawn maintenance.

14-8278 - Assist Other Agency/Warrant Arrest - At 12:06AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Sam Houston Avenue and determined that the driver had outstanding Municipal Court Warrants.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail. 

14-8293 - Burglary of Motor Vehicle - At 11:11AM, an officer was dispatched to the Estill Building, located in the 1900 block of University (P24), in reference to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.  During the investigation, it was determined that the victim’s vehicle was parked in the P24 lot, located in the 2000 block of Avenue J, when the offense occurred.  It should be noted that the only item stolen was her parking permit and the offense occurred two weeks prior to this report being filed.  A non-prosecution form was signed and the report was filed.

14-8210 - 12:21 AM - Fire - A fire alarm was received from White Hall and when Officers
arrived on scene they observed smoke on the first floor of the south side of the building.  Contact was made with the Hall Director to determine if there were any residents in White Hall at the
time.  According to the Hall Director, there were two residents and Officers made sure that those
residents were evacuated.  The Huntsville Fire Department arrived on scene and they determined that the fire was extinguished and did not spread to any other portion of the building.  The cause of the heavy smoke appears to have come from an emergency lighting fixture that caught fire and melted. Physical Plant, Alarm Maintenance, and the University Safety Officer were notified of the
fire and all of them responded to White Hall to assess the situation and make repairs needed for the remainder of the night.

14-8239 - Possessionof Drug Paraphernalia - At 3:18PM, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Sycamore Avenue and determined that an occupant in the vehicle had in his possession a glass pipe.  Upon inspection, the pipe was noted to contain marijuana residue. The individual was issued a Class C Misdemeanor citation for the offesne of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.

14-8112 - 10:02 AM - A student lost consciousness while working out at the Health and Kinesiology Center.  While on scene assisting, the student also complained of severe head pain.  Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported the student to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evalutation.

14-7992 - Assist Other Agency- At 2:51AM, an officer was requested to assist the Huntsville Police Department on an “Alarm” call.  Upon arrival, it was noted that there was forced entry into a business located in the 900 block of US 190. 14-7934 - Public Intoxication - At 2:03AM, officers responded to a Fight in Progress call at the Jolly Fox, located in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue. While on scene, one subject, near the fight, was instructed several times to leave the area and exhibited problems following basic instructions. The subject was taken into custody due to his high level of intoxication and transported to the Walker County Jail.  At the jail he was charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication.

1400007847-Graffiti- At 12:07AM, an officer observed Graffiti on an emergency call box located at Bearkat Village, 2401 Montgomery Road.  No suspect information was available. Photographs were taken and a report was filed.

14-7891 - Warrant Arrest - At 5:25PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Bobby K Marks. A computerized inquiry revealed that the subject had outstanding warrants from the City of Huntsville Municipal Court. The subject was arrested on the warrants and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-7750 – 3:31PM – Theft – A student failed to return a University owned instrument at the end of the semester.  A faculty member reported the instrument stolen after it was found listed for sale on “Ebay”.  A report was filed and an investigation into this matter has begun.

14-7716:  An Officer made a pedestrian stop in the 1500 block of Sam Houston Avenue. A computer inquiry of the individual's name and date of birth revealed that the subject had outstanding municipal warrants out of the City of Huntsville. The subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County jail.

14-7723:  An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 11th Street. During the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle gave consent to search of his vehicle. During the officer's search, he located a white powdery substance and a small amount of marijuana. The subject was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana, and was then transported to the Walker County jail.

14-7657: Evading/Assist Other Agency - At 12:45AM, an officer attempted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Sycamore Avenue.  The driver then attempted to evade by failing to stop, and making several turns through a subsequent neighborhood before pulling over in the 1400 block of Avenue C.  After a computer inquiry into his identification, it was also determined that the subject had several outstanding warrants through Huntsville Municipal Court. The driver was arrested for Evading and the outstanding warrants and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-7681:  Officers were dispatched to the University Club Apartments (a non-campus location) in reference to a Welfare Concern report. The complainant advised he received an email from a student’s mother stating that her daughter may be suicidal. Officers made contact with the female student who advised that she was ok and was not thinking about harming herself. A report was completed and notifications were made.

14-7620: Possession of Marijuana - At 3:15 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2400 block of Sam Houston Avenue. As a result of the stop, the driver was found to be in the possession of marijuana.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-7634 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- At 8:51PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of 11th Street.  As a result of the stop, the driver was found to be in the possession of a drug paraphernalia.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-7468 – Damage to University Property – While patrolling on foot, Officer’s observed several broken windows on the Evans building.  It is unknown how the damage occurred, however, there is a large amount of gravel in the area and it appears that the area was recently mowed.  A report was filed in refernce to the incident.

14-7406, 1:30 a.m., Assist Other Agency (Walker County Sheriff’s Office) – An officer responding
toward the area of a reported burglary in progress with shooting involved which had occurred in Walker County off of US‐190 observed a suspicious vehicle heading westbound. The officer started following the vehicle, and after the vehicle had turned northbound on Geneva Road observed an occupant jump out of the bed of the vehicle and flee into the wooded area east of the roadway. The officer provided a description of the vehicle to other agency units and remained in the area where the subject had fled on foot to assist with scene security. After an extensive search was conducted with the assistance of a tracking dog, the subject was not located in the immediate area and the officer was released from the scene. The missing subject was later located and taken into custody by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office near a church further east on US‐190.

14-7403, 9:29 p.m., Possession of Marijuana – An officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic
violation (running stop sign) in the 600 block of Bowden Road and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. After detecting the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, the officer conducted an investigation and determined that the two female occupants were in possession of marijuana. Both subjects were taken into custody.

14-7315-Assist Other Agency- At 12:33AM, during a traffic stop, an officer was notified that two occupants within the vehicle had outstanding warrants through the Huntsville Municipal Court. Both were arrested for the warrants and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-7180: “Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle”- At approximately 10:44 AM, an officer responded to the Raven Village parking lot, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a vehicle which sustained damage to the front left bumper and front left quarter panel. The victim did not wish to file criminal charges and only wished to file a report for insurance purposes. A report documenting the incident was completed.

14-7090-Criminal Mischief: At 7:35AM, an officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report. Complainant on scene advised that, sometime the previous night, an individual broke the handle on an exit door. After investigation, it was determined that a student that resides in the dorm was impatient and pulled the handle causing damage to the door. The Residence Life Director was notified and has decided to handle the incident administratively.

14-7101-Damaged Vehicle: At 11:24AM, while parked in the P1 parking lot, located in the 800 Block of Bearkat Boulevard, a vehicle sustained damage from flying debris as Grounds workers were weed eating the area. A rock struck the driver’s side window causing it to break. Arrangement have been made, between Grounds and the owner of the vehicle, for repairs. A report was filed.

14-6931- Assault Family Violence- At 2:42AM, officers were dispatched to Houston House, located at 1661 Avenue J, in reference to a Domestic in Progress. Upon arrival, the parties were separated and during the investigation it was found that the roommates have had previous problems that have been documented. Subsequently, one subject was arrested for Assault Family Violence.

14-6978-Assist Other Agency: At 7:50PM, an officer assisted a Huntsville Police Department officer with a vehicle pursuit. A supplement report was completed.

14-6908- Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle- At 4:56PM, an officer was dispatched to P10, the Randel, Vick, and Spivey Houses parking lot, located in the 800 Block of Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle report. Upon arrival, the victim stated
that she parked her vehicle between 7:00AM and returned at 4:50PM to find damage to her vehicle. No suspect information was provided.

14-6833, 2:47 p.m., Theft – Officer was dispatched to the Raven Village Parking Lot, located in the 2100 block of Avenue I, in reference to a “Theft” report. Subject reported that between May 1, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. and May 2, 2014 at 12:00 a.m.; his “Toshiba” lab top was possibly taken from his vehicle by an unknown person. At the time of the report the complainant did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint.

14-6839, 5:05 p.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” call. Upon arrival, the officer met with the on-duty resident advisor and a resident at a dorm room. The resident reported leaving her room at 4:35 p.m. and returned at approximately 5:00 p.m. Upon returning to the room the resident detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the bathroom. At the time of the call no other subjects were on scene and no contraband was found inside the room. Information was gathered to be forwarded to the Residence Life Department and Dean of Student’s Office.

14-6738, 12:00 AM, Assist Outside Agency Huntsville PD: A Huntsville PD officer got into a pursuit near 11th Street and Avenue I and called for assistance. UPD officers were near the area and responded. Once the scene was secure and HPD had the suspect in custody UPD officers returned to the campus to continue their patrols. Both officers filed supplement reports.

14-6681, 2:17 a.m., Public Intoxication – Officer was flagged down in the Small Business Parking Lot, located at 2405 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a male subject passed out inside his vehicle. Upon making contact with the subject, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Due to the subjects level of intoxication the officer felt the individual would pose a danger to himself and/or others if released and was taken into custody. The subject was then transported to the Walker County Jail, booked for “Public Intoxication”, a Class “C” Misdemeanor and remanded into the custody of the jail staff.

14-6691, 10:14 AM, Damage to University Property: A driver damaged the handrail and handicapped parking sign in front of Art Building G with their vehicle by mistake. There were no injuries and an accident report was completed.

14-6696, 12:34 PM, Failure to Stop and Give Information: As one driver was pulling out of the P23 parking lot, another driver was pulling in and there was contact between the two vehicles. The drivers got out to exchange information at which time the driver of the Toyota got back into her vehicle and left the scene. Multiple attempts were made to contact the suspect with no success. A report was completed.

The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and it stopped in the 700 Block of Bowers, in the entrance to Bearkat Village, located at 2400 Montgomery Road. After further investigation, it was discovered that the driver had struck a truck parked in front of the HKC, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard. During the investigation it was also determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-6504 - Criminal Mischief: At 11:23AM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report. The officer was advised that approximately a week ago, the individual noticed someone had written a statement on the back glass of her vehicle in red lipstick while it was parked at Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I. The victim did not want to pursue criminal charges, but the information was documented.

14-6479: "Suspicious Incident" - At 4:15 PM an officer was dispatched to the Counseling Education Center, located at 1932 Bobby K. Marks, in reference to a female subject who had received multiple phone calls the past months. The subject also believed she was being followed and stalked as result of the mysterious phone calls. A report was filed.

14-6486: "Medical Assist" - At 7:29 PM an officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a female subject who had crawled from the residence hall to her vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer located the female and Walker County Emergency Medical Services was contacted, and subsequently transported the female subject to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-6409 1:16 AM, Violation of Student Code of Conduct/MIP: Officer responded to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) where 4 Students were in violation of Student Code of Conduct due to numerous violations. One student was also in possession of alcoholic beverages. The minor was issued a citation for this offense and a report for the violation was completed.

14-6415 @3:32 AM, Domestic Incident/Warrant Service:  Callers at Lonestar Hall (900 block of Bearkat Boulevard) advised two females and a male were fighting outside near the front doors. Communications was able to see the male attempt to carry one of the females and then walk away. Officers arrived at the scene and took the male into custody after warrants were discovered and confirmed through Huntsville. The female signed a non-prosecution request form and did not need medical assistance. The male was taken to jail and a report was completed.

14-6419 11:14 AM, Welfare Concern: A female was walking down the sidewalk in front of White Hall (2000 block Avenue I) and stepped on a broken bottle. The glass went through her shoe and a third party advised a Resident Assistant of the situation. The female declined emergency medcial services.

14-6428 3:07 PM, Medical Assist: A Southeastern Louisiana baseball pitcher went in and out of consciousness after sustaining a severe groin cramp, due to dehydration, while on the mound during the baseball game.  He was escorted off of the field, via SHSU’s John Deer all-terrain vehicle, and met with the Emergency Medical Services personnel, who were awaiting outside of the field gate. He refused transport to the hospital and was remanded into the care of his teammates.

14-6441 9:56 PM, Assault: Officers were disptached to a reported assault which had previously occurred in Building L, of Bearkat Village, located at 2400 Montgomery Road. It was determined another Sam Houston State University student and a previous friend of the victim assaulted her by grabbing her upper arms and throwing her against a door.  The victim refused to file criminal charges. A report was completed and will be forwarded to Residence Life Staff and the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

14-6364 Assist Other Agency- At 2:20AM, officers responded to the Sunrise Apartments, located at 819 15th Street, in reference to a suspect in a possible Aggravated Robbery. Upon arrival, several Huntsville Police officers had the subject in custody. University officers remained on scene to assist with scene security. Supplemental reports were completed.

14-6378 3:30 PM, Criminal Mischief: A truck was found with a broken window in the Raven's Nest Golf Course parking lot. A report was completed in reference to this incident.

14-6396 10:34 PM, AOA Huntsville PD: Huntsville PD requested the assistance of UPD as a backup units in reference to a domestic incident in progress on Avenue R. A UPD officer arrived and assisted in scene security while the HPD officer conducted an investigation.

14-6392 8:58 PM, Traffic: A university police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 17th Street and discovered the driver to have marijuana residue on his shirt. The male admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day, but did not appear impaired at the time of the stop. The male commented that he played football for the University of Texas and the officer contacted the university shortly after the stop.  Information will be submitted to the University of Texas for internal handling and any disciplinary actions.

14-6343 Theft: At 11:55AM, an officer was dispatched to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Building, located at 1901 Avenue I, in reference to a Theft report. Subject advised that he left his wallet at the desk where he was working on a computer within the lab. After he realized he left his wallet, he returned and could not find it. An offense report was completed.

14-6359 Criminal Mischief: At 10:03PM, an officer was dispatched to the Library, located at 1830 Bobby K Marks, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report. Upon arrival, an officer noticed a broken window at the library with an overturned trash container in the vicinity. A Criminal Mischief report was completed.

14-6303, 12:57 p.m., Medical Assist – A student at the Criminal Justice Center (816 17th Street) reported feeling ill and was subsequently transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further assessment by Huntsville/Walker County EMS.

14-6322, 9:50PM, Assault- An officer was dispatched to a “speak with officer” while at the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Class “C” Assault.  The individual stated that while at the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, she was approached by a male that pulled her tube top type style shirt down. Afterwards,
she and the male began to argue, and then were separated by unknown people. The individual did not wish to file criminal charges. A report was completed and will be sent to the Dean of Students Office for Judicial Review.

14-6231, 9:09 a.m., Damaged Vehicle – A grounds maintenance crew member, while working at the University Hotel parking area (1600 block Bobby K Marks Drive), caused damage to a parked vehicle.  While the staff member was using equipment, it threw a piece of debris which in turn struck and shattered the back window of the parked vehicle. The vehicle’s owner was attending a training class at the LEMIT building at the time.

14-6234, 12:30 p.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – A student reported that over a two week time span her Bearkat One card had been fraudulently used at various locations around campus. The student discovered the fraudulent activity when she went to make a purchase and was advised that she lacked sufficient funds to make the purchase. An offense report was taking for further investigation.

14-6235, 12:35 p.m., Crash (Minor) – A university employee, while backing out of a parking space, accidentally struck a parked vehicle at the University Hotel parking lot (1600 block Bobby K Marks Drive) causing minor damage. Coincidentally, the parked vehicle that was struck was the same one that had received damage earlier in the day from flying debris launched during grounds maintenance.

14-6245, 5:11 p.m., Graffiti – Officer discovered graffiti on an air conditioning unit at the ZETA House, located at 1661 Avenue J. An offense report was completed documenting the damage.

14-6264, 9:34 p.m., Assist-Outside-Agency Warrant Service: An officer responded to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a warrant service call. Upon arrival, the officer located an individual who was wanted on two outstanding warrants of arrest.  A male university student was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-6151, 1:03 a.m., Interpersonal Conflict – Officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a subject yelling and pounding on doors on the north side of the building. Upon arrival, it was determined the subject was involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend at his dorm room, located at Gibbs House at 1619 Avenue J. While speaking with both parties involved and a witness it was determined no criminal offense occurred. The subjects were separated for the night to communicate civilly about their relationship issues at a later time.

14-6152, 1:34 a.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan, located at 1008 17th Street, in reference to a “Violation of Student Code of Conduct” report. A resident reported her room-mate arrived at their room, highly intoxicated and alleged the complainant was in possession of her cell phone. The intoxicated subject confronted the complainant with profane language and left the room to contact the resident advisor. During the investigation it was determined the complainant was not in possession of the intoxicated resident’s cell phone, no threats were ever made and the complainant was comfortable with her room-mate returning home. Due to the intoxicated student not needing medical attention, the complainant not feeling threatened, the subject was released and advised to remain in her room.

14-6154, 3:26 a.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village Apartments, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Medical Assist” report. Upon arrival, the officer met with a student and assisted with the medical call.  Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services was summoned and transported the subject to The Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-6190: 4:00PM, Harassment - An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Harassment report. Officer met with the complainant who advised that she received several phone calls andtext messages from an individual identified only as “Michael.”  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed for investigative purposes.

14-6100: On April 21, 2014 at 12:20 AM, officers were dispatched to the Jackson-Shaver housing complex, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” report. Upon arrival, officers located room the odor was emanating from and identified the resident and a visitor in the residence. A consented search of the residence revealed a bottle containing alcohol and marijuana residue. Through investigation it was also determined the visitor of the resident had recently been removed from housing at Jackson-Shaver for a previous drug related charge and had been staying in the resident’s room for a prolonged period of time. The resident was issued a citation for the class “C” misdemeanor offense of “Minor in Possession of Alcohol,” and the visitor was issued a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for Jackson-Shaver Hall.

14-6101: On April 21, 2014 at 12:37 AM, officers were dispatched to Baldwin House, located at 1327 17th Street, in reference to an individual who was acting strangely and possibly suicidal. Upon the officer's arrival, two students admitted to taking illegal narcotic (LSD) and were later voluntarily transported by Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services for evaluation.

14-6103 and 14-6104, 7:39 a.m., Graffiti – Numerous surfaces at Bowers Stadium and the SHSU Baseball/Softball complex were ‘tagged’ with graffiti, apparently overnight between Sunday night and Monday morning. The markings that were made consisted of spray painted words and symbols covering relatively large surface areas. It is believed that several other instances of the same activity occurred during the same course of conduct at locations beyond the SHSU campus, including University Heights Baptist Church and Stewart Elementary School.

14-6122, 1:55 p.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – A resident at Raven Village reported that her roommate has been smoking marijuana in their shared residence.  Information was obtained and a report was completed that will be forwarded to Residence Life staff and the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

14-6144, 10:25 p.m., Harassment – Officer was dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to a “Harassment” report. A female student reported she was receiving threats from another female student since February 2014.  Due to the threats, the complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint for “Assault: by Threat.” After the initial report, the officer was dispatched back to the incident location in reference a group of individuals knocking on the complaint’s boyfriend’s door. Further information was obtained from the other subjects involved and the crowd was dispersed.  Subsequent to the second call, the officer was then dispatched to the complainants’ room at Belvin-Buchanan Hall, located at 1008 17th Street, in reference to two of the subjects from earlier knocking on her door still attempting to contact her. Additionally, the complainant received information from a friend that several subjects involved were posting mocking posts on “Twitter” in reference to the police being contacted. Additional information was documented due to the subject not feeling safe on campus.

140-6147, 10:59 p.m., Burglary of Residence - A resident at the ZETA House (located at 1661 Avenue J) reported between Friday, April 18, 2014 and Sunday, April 20, 2014 an unknown person(s) entered her secured dorm room and removed an Apple IPAD-2 without her consent. There were no signs of forced entry with the incident occurring over the Easter Break holiday.

14-6148, 11:12 p.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to Lone Star Hall, located at 910 Bearkat Boulevard, in reference to assisting with a medical call.

April 18, 2014
14-5999: At 12:20 AM, officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Welfare Concern report. While en-route, officers were advised that several females were escorting a male subject, who appeared extremely intoxicated, that was unable to stand unassisted. Upon arrival, Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services was summoned to the scene and the male subject was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

April 17, 2014
14-5941: At 3:05 AM, officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village parking garage, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report. Upon arrival, officers met with the witnesses who observed a male who damaged a vehicle. Officers attempted to speak with the suspect, but were unable to make contact. The victim was notified, but declined prosecution. A report was completed in reference to the incident and will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review.

14-5984: At 10:02PM, while assisting Huntsville Police Officers with crowd control at a pool party located at the Connection Apartments, located at 2537 Pine Shadows, officers observed a male subject engaged in a verbal altercation with a female at the corner of Normal Park and Chimney Rock. Upon further investigation, the male subject was found to be extremely intoxicated. He was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Walker County Jail, located at 751 FM 2821.

April 16, 2014
14-5894: 3:48 , Damaged Vehicle – While a garage patron was attempting to exit through the Avenue I side of the Sam Houston Parking Garage, the cross arm lowered unexpectedly and caused minor damage to the front bumper of the subject’s vehicle. The subject was driving a Ford F-250, and it is believed that a sensor problem was created due to the height of the vehicle’s body from the ground. An officer responded to the scene and took a report.

April 15, 2014
14-5835: At 3:40PM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village parking garage, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a damaged vehicle report. No suspect information was available at the time of the report. Photographs were taken and a report was completed.

14-5844: At 7:41PM, an officer was dispatched to the Library, located at 1830 Bobby K Marks, in reference to a Theft report. Upon arrival, the officer was advised that after the victim plugged his IPhone 5 into the charge station inside the computer lab, he left the area and went to the restroom. After returning to the lab, he continued working on a computer that was not facing the charge station. Upon returning to retrieve his phone, the complainant found that the phone was gone. No suspect information was available at the time of report.

14-5894: At 9:15PM, an officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a Medical Assist report. Emergency medical services responded and transported the subject to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-5783 at 5:16 PM, Theft – A student reported an unknown person(s) took his cellphone without his consent, while at the Health and Kinesiology Center (HKC) (located at 801 Bowers Boulevard) on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. The complaint waited to report the incident until establishing the cellphone had not been turned over to the lost and found at the HKC.

April 13, 2014
14-5732: At 3:26 PM, an officer was requested by the Huntsville/Walker County Communications Center to assist several Huntsville Police Officers locate a prowling suspect in the Villas of Sycamore, located at 1615 Sycamore Avenue. Prior to the officer’s arrival, the suspect damaged the rear glass door of the victim’s apartment, but did not make entry. The University Police Officer located the suspect’s vehicle and later observed the individual running away from the scene. The officer, along several Huntsville Police Officers, gave chase to the suspect and later located him. The suspect, who is not a Sam Houston State University student, was charged with “Public Intoxication” and transported to the Walker County Jail.

April 12, 2014
14-5720: At 9:34 PM, Officers responded to a “Domestic-in progress” at Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I. Upon the officer’s arrival it was determined a physical and verbal altercation between both roommates, who were also brothers, had occurred. Both individuals were charged with the class “C” misdemeanor offense of “Assault-Family Violence.”

14-5695: At 3:01AM, an officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Theft” report.  Upon arrival and after further investigation, the “Theft” was unfounded, however, in the course of the investigation, it was
officer discovered that an “Assault Family Violence” had occurred. Furthermore, the actor, a non-student, was found to be residing on-campus with the victim, a Violation of Student Code of Conduct. The non-student was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted from the dormitory. A Non-Prosecution form was signed by the complainant regarding the Assault.

14-5678: At 12:18PM, An officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to Burglary of Motor Vehicle report. Upon arrival the officer was advised that an unknown individual possibly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed cash from the inside of her of her purse.

April 10, 2014
14-5656 At 4:58 PM, An officer was dispatched to Houston House, located at 1661 Avenue J, in reference to an Alcohol Violation.  During, during the course of the investigation, the officer learned that the roommates could not resolve on-going problems between each other. Residence Life staff was alerted to the situation and a report was going to be forwarded to Residence Life Staff. An
Interpersonal Conflict/Violation of Student Code of Conduct/Criminal Trespass Warning report was completed.

14-5666 At 10:39 PM, An officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2101 Avenue I, in reference to a Welfare Concern/Attempted Suicide report. Upon arrival, a female student was laying in the grass outside the southeast corner of the housing complex. The student had cuts on her wrists on both arms. She was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-5667 At 10:44 PM, Officers were dispatched to the Jackson-Shaver parking lot, located in the 1300 block of 17th Street, in reference to a Welfare Concern/Suicidal Subject. While en-route, officers were advised that the subject was locked inside his vehicle with a knife to his throat, threatening to commit suicide. Officers were able to convince the subject, a non-student, to allow officers access inside the vehicle. The subject was detained and transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

April 9, 2014
14-5586, 11:02 a.m., Theft – Officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “Theft” report. An employee with Aramark reported three “Samsung” Galaxy 2 tablets were taken from a desk in an office, between April 7, 2014 in the afternoon and April 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The employee signed a “Prosecution” form expressing they wished to file a formal criminal complaint.

14-5595, 2:19 p.m., Terroristic Threat – An officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “Terroristic Threat” report. A student reported she received threatening messages from a friend of her roommate through a social media network, “Instagram.” According to the complainant, the messages did not make her feel comfortable being in her apartment nor being on campus. The student signed a “Prosecution” form expressing she wished to file a formal criminal complaint. A report was completed and will be sent to the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review as well.

April 8, 2014
14-5516 At 5:47PM, An officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a Suspicious Odor call. Upon arrival, the officers detected the smell of burnt marijuana and after speaking with the complainant, learned that the suspect had left the area prior to officer’s arrival. A report for Violation of Student Code of Conduct was completed and sent to the Dean of Student’s office and to Residence Life.

14-5563 At 11:49PM: After completing a traffic stop, an officer was flagged down at Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a Theft of Service. The officer was advised by a pizza delivery driver that after delivering a pizza to a dorm room, the suspect took the pizza, closed the door and failed to pay for it. After numerous attempts were made to contact the suspect, the roommate of the individual paid for the purchase. After officers had left the area, the suspect replied via telephone to UPD about the incident. After meeting with him, he stated that he thought the driver “gave” him the pizza, since he did not have change for a $50.00. A Violation of Student Code of Conduct report was filed.

April 7, 2014
14-5248 at 2:00 PM, Duty on Striking Unattended Vehicle, A student reported she parked her vehicle in the Estill parking lot, located at 1500 University Avenue on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 8:00PM. Upon returning to her vehicle on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 6:00 PM, she discovered scratches on the front bumper and grill caused by an unknown actor vehicle. At the time of the report there was no actor vehicle or witness information.

14-5436 at 6:58 PM, Violation of Student Code of Conduct, A student reported that while at the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, he was approached by an ex-boyfriend who made comments about being in possession of a video of the complainant engaging in sexual acts. While conducting the investigation, it was determined that no such video existed of the complainant.  Due to the nature of the incident and the complainant felling “tormented” by his ex-boyfriend a report was completed and it will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' office for Judicial Review.

14-5463 at 11:31 PM, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Officer made contact with an illegally parked vehicle in the North Sorority Hill Drive, located in the 1600 of Avenue I. The vehicle was found to be occupied by one male student.   Upon contact, the officer detected the overwhelming odor of brunt marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia items. The student was issued a citation and released on scene.

April 6, 2014,
14-5392: “Assault Bodily Injury - Family Violence,” At 2:56 AM an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village West, located 2400 Montgomery Road, in reference to a domestic incident that had just occurred. Upon the officer’s arrival, the suspect, who was later determined not to be a Sam Houston student, had fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim’s stated the suspect punched, kicked and hit them causing them pain and making them feel threatened for their safety.

14-5394: Driving While Intoxicated >=.15 BAC; At approximately 4:29 AM, an officer heard a loud squeal from a vehicle that sounded like it was attempting to stop quickly at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Sam Houston Avenue. Shortly after the long squeal, a loud crash was heard and another tire squeal followed. The officer attempted to locate the vehicle that was involved in the potential accident. The officer observed a cross walk sign on the southeast corner of the Montgomery Road and Sam Houston Avenue knocked down. Several bystanders noted the vehicle’s description and direction of travel. The officer located the vehicle and later conducted a traffic stop. It was determined through investigation that the driver was intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content higher than .15. The driver was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Walker County Jail.

14-5401 Welfare Concern 9:00 PM: A female student reported her friend has admitted to being in a potentially violent domestic relationship, but would not reveal any identities. The complainant assured the officer that the female was not in any imminent danger and wished only to seek preliminary advice on options available to her and her friend. A report was taken and multiple types of assistance options were provided.

April 5, 2014
14-5340 (@1:57 AM) Welfare Concern: University dispatchers observed a female being carried by two people from an elevator in Raven Village to a dorm room. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a female intoxicated and unresponsive in her room. Emergency medical services responded and the female became conscious enough to request transport to the hospital for treatment.

14-5346 (@4:36 AM) Medical Assist: A resident in Lone Star Hall, located at 901 Bearkat Boulevard, reported feeling ill. Officers responded to the location and assisted emergency medical services.  The student was subsequently transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-5358: Assist Outside Agency - Walker County Sheriff’s Department; At 9:30 am, A Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy requested immediate assistance soon after he had advised being out on a black male subject who was standing in the middle of the roadway, located at FM 2821 and FM 247. The combative subject had been placed into custody with the help of other assisting officers who had arrived on scene. The university police officer assisted with placing the subject in “The Wrap” body restraint system before he was transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-5316 (@6:35 PM)-Assist Other Agency Warrant Service: An officer, while conducting a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Sam Houston Avenue, identified the driver and was advised he had multiple active warrants through Huntsville Municipal Court. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-5248, 9:39 AM, Violation of Student Code of Conduct – An pfficer was dispatched to Academic Building IV, located at 1921 Avenue J, in reference to a student refusing to leave a professor’s office. The officer learned that on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the same student had been requested to leave said professor’s classroom due to being disruptive and questioning the professor’s teaching methods.  The student was escorted to the Dean of Student’s Office so the situation could be held administratively. A report was filed and referred to the Dean of Students Office.

14-5251, 10:38 AM, Criminal Trespass Warring Issued – An officer was dispatched to South Paw dining facility, located at 2008 Avenue J, in reference to Civil Standby. Upon arrival, the officer was notified by the manager of Aramark Food Services that an employee was being terminated and wished the Officer to remain on scene for safety reasons. After the employee was terminated he requested to speak with the officer about the situation. During their conversation the Officer noted several statements of concern made by the recently terminated employee. Due to the statements made to the officer and the individual not being a current student, staff or faculty member and no longer being an employee of Aramark who is a contract company of Sam Houston State University, said individual was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for all Sam Houston State University property.

14-5252, 10:52 AM, Graffiti - An officer was notified while on scene of a Civil Standby at South Paw dining facility, located at 2008 Avenue J, of Graffiti inside the women’s restroom. Officer was advised between Friday, March 21, 2014 and Friday, March 28, 2014 an unknown person wrote an unreadable phone number in black permanent marker on the wall inside the women’s restroom.

14-5155: At 11:26 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Sam Houston Parking Garage, located at 1730 Avenue I, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle report. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that while parked in the garage an unknown suspect caused damage to her vehicle. No suspect information was given.

14-5055, 6:26 AM, Assist Outside Agency/Warrant Service – Officer initiated a traffic stop at the P17 parking lot, located in the 2000 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive. A computerized inquiry into the driver’s Texas driver’s license revealed two outstanding arrest warrant issued out of the Huntsville Municipal Court for “Speeding” and “Failure to Appear”; both Class “C” Misdemeanor offenses. The driver was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the aforementioned warrants.

14-5119: At 10:26PM, an officer was dispatched to Randel House, located at 824 20th Street, in reference to a Harassment report. Upon arrival, he met with an identified a female student that stated she had received disturbing phone calls from an unknown individual on at least four occasions.

14-4973:  "Medical Assist" - At 1:48 AM an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village East, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, to assist with a medical call.  The patient was voluntarily transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital via Huntsville/ Walker County Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

140-4976:  “Medical Assist” – At 5:17 AM an officer was dispatched to the Texas Department of
Criminal Justice dorms in the Sam Houston Criminal Justice Center, located at 816 17th Street, in
reference to assisting with a medical call. The patient was voluntarily transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital via Huntsville/ Walker County Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

14-4987, 10:18 AM, Theft >20k<100k – An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village building “L”, located at 2400 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Stolen Vehicle”. The complainant stated that her beige 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, 67H-JJ9, was last seen on the 19th or 20th of March at approximately 11:30 PM. The complainant and her father contacted numerous wrecker companies, and when they were unable to locate it, reported it stolen to the University Police Department. At the time of this theft, the vehicle was not drivable due to a bad alternator. The complainant stated that the vehicle had aftermarket headlights and an “SHSU DAD” sticker on the back window. A report was filed.

14-4937:  "Public Intoxication" - At 2:14 AM an officer observed a female subject walking west bound from the Jolly Fox Night Club and Bar, located at 2504 Sam Houston Avenue, through the Sam Houston University Police parking lot.  Moments later, the female subject turned around and continued to walk east bound back towards the Jolly Fox.  The female subject appeared to be looking for someone, therefore the officer approached her to possibly assist.  As the officer approached, he detected the odor of alcohol  emanating from the female subject's breath and person.  The female subject was intoxicated and did not remember how to return back to her apartment.  The officer determined the female subject was a danger to herself or others if released and therefore arrested her for Public Intoxication.  A report was filed.

March 29, 2014

14-4893: An officer was dispatched to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) at 1:22 AM in reference to a report of an alcohol violation.  Upon arrival, the officer identified three individuals under the age of 21 who were in possession of alcohol.  All three were issued a Class C Misdemeanor citation for the offense of Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

14-4907:  "Medical Assist" - At 3:35 PM an officer was dispatched to Pritchett Field, located at 1721 Avenue O, in reference to an eighteen year old male subject who was reported injured.  The patient was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital via Huntsville/ Walker County Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

March 28, 2014
14-4824: At 3:35AM, officers were dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation report. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a female student’s purse had been stolen after an unknown suspect walked into her residence and removed it without her consent. The suspect, which was under surveillance by the Huntsville Police Department,
was seen running from the area and was detained. The suspect was taken into custody by Huntsville Police Department.  It should be noted that the suspect had committed other burglaries in the area. A Criminal Trespass Warning was issued to the suspect for all of Sam Houston State University Property.

14-4841, 12:58 PM, Sexual Assault – Officers were dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133
Avenue I, in reference to a “Sexual Assault” report.  Officers met with a resident who reported she believed that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown person.  The female reported that the incident occurred on the evening of  March 27, 2014.  At this time, based on the information provided, it is unknown where the assault may have taking place.  Furthermore, based on the information provided, there is not a continued or ongoing threat to the University community.

14-4845, 4:22 PM, Lost Property – Officer was dispatched to the University Police Department in
reference to a “Lost Property” report.  A student reported he lost his wallet while at the Health
and Kinesiology Center between March 27, 2014 and March 28, 2014. According to the complainant his Texas identification card, social security card and Chase Bank debit card were all inside the
wallet.  A report was filed.

14-4788, 6:30 p.m., Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle - A student parked his vehicle in the Parking Garage, located at 1730 Avenue I, on this date between 1:30 p.m. and 6;30 p.m.  When he returned to his vehicle, he found that an unknown suspect had struck his vehicle, causing damage to the right rear quarter panel. The suspect fled without leaving any required information, and there were no known witnesses. During the investigation the Officer was able to identify the actor in this incident. The complainant did not wish to file criminal charges since the actor was willing to pay for the damage. A report was filed.

14-4792, 7:41 p.m., Criminal Mischief – A student reported her vehicle had been damaged, while parked in the Sam Houston Village Dormitory parking garage, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue by an unknown suspect(s). The vehicle was parked in the parking garage between the dates of Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. The damage
was caused to the driver’s side front door, with the word “HI” scratched into the paint. A report was filed and was forward to CID for further investigation.

March 26, 2014

14-4683: At 4:34AM, an officer observed a vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Avenue J with its lights on.  A this time the officer made contact on the vehicle check on the welfare of the occupants.  While identifying the occupants the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle.  When asked, the driver admitted to smoking marijuana, having a smoking pipe and marijuana inside the vehicle.  Upon conclusion of a search of the vehicle, a marijuana pipe with residue and two clear pieces of plastic containing marijuana were located.  The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail.  It was determined the driver was not a student or faculty and was also issued a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all university property.  The passenger was identified as a student and released on scene.  A report was filed.

14-4718: At 8:22PM, an officer was dispatched to the Coliseum, located at 1964 Bobby K Marks, for a Medical Assist report.  Upon arrival, the female subject had apparently experienced a medical condition after consuming alcohol and using marijuana. The female was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital by Walker County Emergency Medical Services for further evaluation.

14-4726: At 9:30PM, an officer was alerted during his patrol of the area in P12, the Coliseum parking lot located in the 1900 block of Bobby K Marks, to a suspicious individual sitting in a vehicle. After making contact with the individual, he was found to be in possession of Marijuana. The subject was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and charged with the above offense.

14-4729: At 9:48PM, during an event at the Coliseum, located at 1964 Bobby K. Marks, an officer was alerted to an individual smoking Marijuana. The male subject was arrested, transported to the Walker County Jail, and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

March 25, 2014

14-4654: At 8:56PM, officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a disturbance.  Upon arrival, an officer located the male subject involved and other arriving officers responded to the original location of the disturbance.  After conferring with both parties, it was found that the original argument began at Raven Village, located at 2101 Avenue I, over a relationship.  The argument continued as the female tried to leave the parking lot.  After finally leaving, the female returned to her dormitory and shortly after the male showed up.  At her residence, the highly distraught male became violent and struck a cabinet inside her residence breaking it.  The male subject was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail.

14-4658: At 9:39PM, An officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall, located at 1008 17th Street, in reference to a Theft report.  Upon arrival, the female victim stated that an unknown individual removed a pair of jeans from a dryer in the laundry room, without her consent.  A report was filed.

March 24, 2014

14-4569, 10:24 a.m., Harassment – Two university employees with a history of personal conflict were involved in a ‘road rage’ incident last Thursday, March 20th, on State Highway 19 north of Huntsville.  One of the parties involved wished to have the incident documented.  A report was filed and the incident is being investigated.

14-4580, 1:56 p.m., Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle – A student parked her vehicle in the P-1 lot, located in the 800 block of Bearkat Blvd, at about 12:00 p.m. this date and left it there locked and unattended.  When she returned at about 1:30 p.m. she found that an unknown suspect had struck her vehicle, causing damage to the left back quarter.  The suspect fled without leaving any required information, and there were no known witnesses.  A report was filed.

14-4593, 7:05 p.m., Assault-Possession of Marijuana – Officers dispatched to Crawford House, located at 1317 17th Street, in reference to reports of a domestic in progress report.  Officers arrived on scene and made contact with both involved parties, one student and one a non-student.  During the course of the investigation officers learned that the non-student had been residing inside Crawford House for the past semester with the current assigned resident.  The victim reported a verbal altercation occurred over messages posted on a social media website, which led to a physical altercation between both parties.  One individual was placed under arrest for assault family violence due to both parties being involved in a dating relationship.  While on scene Officers discovered a baggie containing marijuana inside the dorm room,  which led to an additional arrest for the charge of possession of marijuana less than two ounces. A report was filed.      

14-4603, 11:05 p.m., An officer was dispatched to the Library Parking Lot, located at 1830 Bobby K Marks, in reference to a Stolen Vehicle (Theft) report.  While en-route, another officer stated that he witnessed a vehicle leave the parking lot about 45minutes prior to it being reported as stolen.  An attempt to locate was broadcast to all surrounding agencies.  The Conroe, Texas office of the Texas Highway Patrol located the vehicle and upon attempting the traffic stop, engaged in a pursuit by vehicle, then a short foot pursuit.  Both suspects were caught, identified and are currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest. March 23, 2014
14-4541 (@1:44 PM): Harassment: Two students who reside off campus engaged in threatening behavior towards each other. A harassment report was completed and forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for review.

14-4550 (@ 10:52 PM): Welfare Concern: A student allegedly took a handful of nonprescription pills. The student was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital by Walker County EMS for further evaluation. A report was filed.

14-4551 (@ 9:53 PM): Assist Other Agency: Officer checked by with a Huntsville Police Department officer calling for any available assistance due to a brief pursuit.  The officer arrived and provided scene security. A report was filed.

14-4552 (@ 11:43 PM): Criminal Trespass Warning: A student and a non-student engaged in a disruptive civil dispute outside of Belvin Hall (1000 block 17th Street). Officers responded to the scene and issued the non-student a Criminal Trespass Warning for campus. A report was filed.

March 22, 2014
14-4534 (@1:47 AM): Officers were dispatched to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue), in reference to a suspicious odor and minor in possession of alcohol report. Officers arrived and found a resident in possession of alcohol while being underage. A citation was issued and no evidence of narcotics was found.

14-4535 (@2:48 AM): Huntsville PD requested a SHSU UPD officer respond to the Woodcreek Apartments due to there being no city officers available. There was a report of a possible Aggravated Assault with the victim reporting the incident at the Walker County Jail.  The victim reported that the attacker left saying he was going to get a gun. Officers cleared the apartment of possible threats and Huntsville PD officers arrived to process the scene while university officers returned to the area of the university.

14-4537 (@4:42 AM): A university student reported seeing two males looking inside vehicles in the Jackson Shaver lots (1300 block of 17th Street) and moving towards the Sam Houston Village Parking Garage area. University officers arrived on scene and found the two males looking around vehicles in the SHV Garage. The males were from Houston, with one being a former student. They were both issued Criminal Trespass Warnings and released from the scene finding no evidence of any burglaries having occurred.

March 21, 2014
14-4406, 2:35 AM, Assist Outside Agency- Officers responded to the area of Montgomery Road and Sam Houston Avenue as a Huntsville Police Department officer had a vehicle ignore a traffic stop attempt.  The vehicle proceeded from Montgomery Road southbound onto Sam Houston Avenue to Old Houston Road, then through the parking lot at MS Express.  The Huntsville Police Department eventually took the suspect into custody. Assist Other Agency reports and accompanying supplements were completed.

14-4425 At 2:46PM, an officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of Bobby K Marks, P18, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle report.  The complainant stated that their vehicle was damaged by an unknown person/vehicle while parked in the parking lot.  No suspect information was available.  A report was filed.

14-04471 At 1:04AM, while on patrol, an officer observed Graffiti inside the bathrooms near the Tennis Courts behind Raven Village, located at 2125 Avenue I.  No suspect information is available.  A report was filed.

March 20, 2014

14-4359, 2:10 p.m., Welfare Concern – Residence Life personnel, while speaking with a student recently evicted from an on-campus residence facility, heard the student make a suicidal comment.  They passed the information on to SHSU PD.  During the investigation, contact was made with the student and his mother, both of whom confirmed the statement having been made.  Offers to make contact with emergency responders in their area (out of town) were made but were declined, with the mother stating that the student was not in need of such services and was only upset over recent events, including being evicted from campus housing.  A report was made, and information regarding the event was shared with the Dean of Students Office, Residence Life, and Counseling Services.

14-4362, 2:35 p.m., Theft – A student called to report that his bicycle had been stolen over spring break.  He advised that it had been left outside of the Estill Building, but he was unsure whether or not it had been locked.  A report was filed.

14-4373, 7:41 PM, Medical Assist- An Officer was patrolling in the 1900 block of Avenue O, Pritchett Field, as he noticed a male laying on the ground in a driveway.  The officer responded to the location and quickly notified dispatch that Emergency Medical Services were needed as the male was unresponsive and appeared to be having a seizure.  The subject was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

14-4306, 6:26 p.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to Gibbs Ranch, located at 1127 State Highway 75 North, in reference to a “Medical Assist” report.  A student participating in a rodeo event fell off a bull.  The Walker County Emergency Medical Services was summoned and transported the individual to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

March 18, 2014
14-4181, 12:33 a.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer conducted a traffic stop at Sam Houston Avenue and El Torro.  While speaking with the driver the officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from within the vehicle.  The officer observed marijuana residue on the driver’s clothing.  Upon conclusion of a search of the vehicle no contraband was located and further marijuana residue was observed throughout the vehicle.  Two additional students were identified and all subjects information was gather for an administrative report.  A report was filed.

1400004206, 12:38 p.m., Duty upon Striking – A student parked her vehicle in a marked space in the P-1 lot at about 8:00 a.m. and left it there unattended.  When she returned at about 12:00 p.m. she found that an unknown suspect had struck her vehicle, causing damage to the front left quarter.  The suspect fled without leaving information as required, and there were no witnesses.  A report was filed.

14-4208, 2:12 p.m., Crash (Minor) – Two students maneuvering in the P-7 parking lot (1700 block of Bobby K Marks Drive), one backing and one moving forward, collided at very low speed, causing slight damage to both vehicles.  Each was provided with a Civil Damage Information Exchange form.

14-4213, 3:15 p.m., Burglary of Habitation – A resident of the Alpha Delta Pi house (1640 Avenue I) last saw her IPad3, valued at $400.00, lying on a desk in her room before she left for spring break.  She could not find it upon her return on Sunday, 03-16-2014, and after an extensive search determined that it had been taken from her room during her absence.  A report was filed.

14-4235, 7:28 p.m., Crash (Minor ) - A student parked his vehicle in a parking space in the 1100 block of 16th Street (Bearkat Boulevard) and inadvertently opened his driver’s side door into the approaching motorist lane of travel. A vehicle traveling westbound in the 1100 block of 16th Street struck the driver’s door causing damage to both vehicles.  Both involved parties wished to exchange information and were provide Civil Damage forms.  A report was filed.

14-4232/14-4243 /14-4244, 6:30 p.m., Burglary of Habitation – Residents of the Zeta House (1661 Avenue J) reported that during the spring break session, several items were taken for three different dorm rooms. Several pieces of jewelry were taken from two of the rooms, along with prescription medicine being taken from the other. The officer spoke with all available residents at the time of the report and ascertained that only the three mentioned dorm rooms were involved in the incident.  Three separate cases numbers were generated for statistical purposes.  A report was filed.

March 17, 2014

14-4121, 8:47 a.m., Assist Other Agency (Huntsville Fire Department) – HFD officials requested that SHSU PD send an officer to the former location of Janes’ Asphalt Paving, 615 16th Street, after determining that personnel with Janes’ Asphalt Paving were conducting an illegal burn at that location.  A permit had been obtained to burn brush, but the material being burned consisted of multiple items left over from demolition.  Paving personnel on scene agreed to extinguish the fire by smothering it with dirt, using a backhoe.  A report was filed.

14-4150, 6:49 p.m., Theft – Officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “Theft” report.  A student reported his wallet was taken from a restroom between 6:15 PM and 6:35 PM, today.  The subject located his wallet during a secondary check of the restroom with HKC staff.  Upon checking the wallet the individual observed between $150 and $200 in United States currency was removed.  A report was filed.

March 16, 2014

14-4055 Graffiti at 12:13 PM:  While on patrol in the 500 block of Bowers Boulevard, an officer observed a university parking lot sign with graffiti on it.  A report was completed documenting the incident.

14-4056 Assist Outside Agency:  Officer responded to the intersection of Montgomery Road and IH-45 Feeder Road at 12:23 AM in reference to a Huntsville Police Department officer requesting assistance.  Upon arrival, the officer assisted with the traffic stop and a report was completed.

14-4058 Assist Outside Agency:  Officers responded to the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue at the request of the Huntsville Police Department at 1:57 AM.

14-4066 Burglary of a Habitation (@1:32 PM): A Hall Director discovered an opened window to a Bearkat Village (2400 block of Montgomery Road) residence over the spring break period. She re-secured the window and room and emailed the tenant of room of the incident. Upon the student's return to the dorm room, she discovered that her laptop computer was missing.

March 11, 2014

14-3871, At 10:42AM, An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, in reference to a Stalking report.  Upon arrival, he met with the victim that stated she had received suspicious letters in her office at the CJ Center, located at 816 17th Street.  The suspicious letters were very disturbing to her and her neighbor in an adjacent office, who also received a suspicious letter. A report was filed.

14-3891, At 10:54PM, An officer was dispatched to the University police Department, in reference to a Harassment report.  Upon arrival, he was advised that the victim had received harassing phone calls, while out of state for spring break.  The known subject was stating to the victim that she “needed to be prepared to fight”.  This was previously reported to the Walker County Sheriff’s Department for a different incident that occurred at the Walker County Fairgrounds. The victim was advised to contact UPD upon return to Huntsville to fill out additional paperwork.  A report was filed.

14-3826, 7:44 a.m., Burglary of a Vehicle –  Officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Burglary of a Motor Vehicle” report.  A student reported that between 8:00 p.m. Sunday night, 03-09-2014 and 7:40 a.m. Monday morning, 03-10-2014, an unknown suspect ripped open a hole in the plastic window of his soft-top Jeep to gain access to the interior of the vehicle, then took possession of and fled with a duffle bag containing primarily clothing valued at over $700.00.  A report was filed.

14-3839, 5:00 p.m., Graffiti- Officer while on patrol at the Sam Houston Parking Garage, located at 1730 Avenue I, discovered graffiti.  Officer observed an incident where an unknown person(s) utilized orange spray paint on the wall of the fifth level (top) and southwest corner stairwell on lever four of the parking garage.  The paint appeared recently done and was dry to the touch with the estimated time frame being Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. to Monday, March 10, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.  A report was filed.  

14-3843, 9:21 p.m., Assist Outside Agency – Officer responded to the area of Avenue S and 19th Street to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a foot pursuit.  A Huntsville Police Department officer was engaged in a foot pursuit with a theft suspect from Wal-Mart.  Upon the UPD officer’s arrival, several HPD officers were able to secure the suspect without his assistance.  A report was filed.

14-3854, 11:48 p.m., Evading – Officer detected the odor of marijuana and observed a suspicious black male subject walking southbound in the 1700 block of Avenue O.  Officer stopped his patrol vehicle to check on the subject.  At that time the individual walked up to the officers patrol vehicle and voluntarily gave the officer his Texas identification card.  The officer exited his patrol vehicle, instructed the subject to go to the front of his patrol vehicle and inquired to if he was smoking marijuana.  Next, the subject immediately evaded on foot and after a brief foot pursuit ran into a wooded area located just northeast of the incident location.  Subsequent to an extensive search of the area, with the assistance of the Huntsville Police Department the subject was not located.  Due to knowing the identity of the suspect an arrest warrant for “Evading”, a Class “A” Misdemeanor will be sought.  A report was filed.

March 7, 2014
At 8:08 AM, an officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2401 Montgomery Road) in reference to a domestic dispute.  Officer met with the complainant (a male not university student) who reported that he was having an argument with a girlfriend who resided on campus.  Since the male was not a student and due to an extensive criminal history, he was issued a criminal trespass warning for all SHSU property (14-3725).

At 10:33 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Estill Building (1903 University Avenue) in reference to a credit card abuse report.  Upon arrival, the complainant reported finding fraudulent activity on their department purchasing credit card.  A report was completed (14-3730).

March 6 ,2014

14-3670, 12:07 a.m.,  Criminal Mischief – Officer was dispatched to the P7 parking lot, located in the 1700 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a “Criminal Mischief” report.  A student reported her vehicle was keyed while parked at the aforementioned location between 10:50 AM and 12:00 PM today.  When asked, the subject stated she and a male subject were both awaiting for a parking space to become available.  The complainant was able to occupy the space prior to the male subject.  At that time the male subject yelled at the complainant and stated he was going to remember her vehicle.  Due to the altercation the complainant suspected the male individual of causing the damage.  The complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-3684, 6:14 p.m., Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Officer was dispatched to Jackson Shaver, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to a “Suspicious Incident” report.  Upon arrival, two resident advisors reported observing a homemade bong in a dorm room during a safety check.  The officer then made contact with the student in the room in question.  During the investigation it was determined by the officer the bong had marijuana residue.  Subsequently, the student was cited for “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia” and released.  A report was filed.

14-3595, 12:01 p.m., Welfare Concern – The Huntsville/Walker County Combined Communications Center contacted SHSU PD based on receipt of a call from an anonymous person calling from the state of Maine who reported that a Facebook friend had reported to her a conversation she had had with a friend who happened to be a student at SHSU.  The account related to us was that the student, in this reported conversation on Facebook, had made statements indicating that she was contemplating harming herself.  The investigating officer was unable to locate or make contact with the student; however, he was able to speak with an out-of-state relative and conduct an examination of the student’s room, finding nothing out of order or indicating any harmful intent.  At the time of the report being filed, additional attempts at locating and/or contacting the student were still being made.

14-3595, 10:16PM, Officer responded to the residence of the previous Welfare Concern, located at 2400 Montgomery Road, to Follow-Up.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the female student who family members were concerned about.  The investigating officer determined that the student was not a danger to their self, had made plans to seek counseling, and had invited a friend (also a student) to stay with her for the night.  All parties were identified and were advised that if she felt she needed additional assistance to contact this department. A report was filed.

March 4, 2014

14-3535, 12:56 p.m., Terroristic Threat – An unknown suspect called the main campus telephone exchange and reported the presence of a bomb in the Lee Drain Building (1900 Avenue I).  Numerous agencies and personnel responded and the building was evacuated, then searched for the presence of a bomb by K-9 teams trained in detection of explosives.  No bombs were located, and the building was cleared for the resumption of normal use at about 4:00 p.m.  A report for the third degree Felony offense of Terroristic Threat was filed.

14-3540, 2:46PM, An officer was dispatched to Undergraduate Admissions, located at 1903 University Avenue, in reference to a Suspicious Incident.  Complainant advised that they had received a suspicious envelope, through the US Postal Service, containing various perplexing items.  The officer investigated and discovered that the individual resides out of state and has a possible mental illness. Contact was made with law enforcement in that area to assure the individual has no violent tendencies and is not considered a threat. No actual threats were made in any of the documents contained within the envelope.  A report was filed.

14-3485, 3:24 p.m., Duty Upon Striking Unattended Vehicle – A student came by the office to report that on Friday, February 28, 2014, at about 9:45 a.m., she parked her vehicle in the P-23 lot (2100 block of Avenue I) and left it there unattended.  When she returned about an hour later, she discovered that an unknown suspect had struck the front of her vehicle, causing damage, then left without providing information required by law.  There were no witnesses and no known suspect information at the time the report was filed.

Damage to University Property -14-3403 (9:26 AM):  Officer responded to the Music/Fine Arts building (1751 Avenue I) in reference to a Conroe ISD bus scrapping the exterior corner of the building.  Minor damage was sustained to both the building and bus.  A report was filed.

Criminal Trespass Warning Issued- 14-3440 (1:07 AM):  Officers responded to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to a suspicious male attempting to gain entry into the dorm.  Upon identification of the suspicious person it was determined he was not a student of Sam Houston State University.  Due to the suspicious nature of the individual and his extensive criminal history he was issued a criminal trespass warning for all of Sam Houston State University property.  A report was filed.

February 28, 2014

14-3390 (@2:17 pm): A university officer was dispatched to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (1900 block Avenue I) in reference to multiple fraudulent charges to a university issued credit card. The charges were small in dollar amount and was cancelled after the charges were discovered.

14-3392 (at 3:17 PM):  An officer with the Lone Star College Police Department provided information to officers at the Woodlands Campus (3380 College Park) in reference to a welfare concern on their campus.  Information was obtained and a report was completed.

14-3397 (@8:54 pm): A university officer was dispatched to Jackson Shaver (1201 17th Street) where a student reported the theft of his wallet and phone from the HKC (801 Bowers Boulevard) earlier in the evening while playing basketball. After reviewing surveillance footage a suspect was located and a follow up will be conducted with the HKC to discover his identity using his “swipe” info upon entry to the facility.

14-3398 (@9:11 pm): A university officer discovered suspicious activity associated with the smoking of marijuana while in Jackson Shaver (1201 17th Street) on the way to an unrelated incident. Upon further investigation a resident was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and one of his guests was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Two other guests were included in the report, but not charged with anything. All four students involved are students at SHSU.

February 27, 2014

14-3310, 8:24 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – A Project Coordinator for the Office of Research and Special Programs reported that on February 25, 2014, two separate fraudulent charges were made to their department purchasing card, which was secured in a locked desk drawer at the time.  A report was filed.

14-3321, 12:31 p.m., Lost Property – A student reported that she lost her wallet, which contained $300 in cash, at the LSC (1802 Avenue I) on February 4, 2014.  The student reported that she was attending a pageant at that location and had secured her wallet inside a zip-loc style bag, which she then placed inside a cardboard box.  She believes that the cardboard box was discarded along with several others at the conclusion of the pageant.  A report was filed.

14-3328, 1:00 p.m., Damage to University Property – A student leaving the lower level gate at the Sam Houston Parking Garage (1700 block of Avenue I) turned too sharply and struck a brick façade with her vehicle, causing damage to both.  A report was filed.

14-3334, 2:18 p.m., Interpersonal Conflict – A student reported that her former roommate, which whom she had experienced conflict on several occasions last semester, may have recently had the complainant’s vehicle towed from a local apartment complex as a means of retaliation for a perceived slight in the past.  The complainant desired a report so that the matter could be reviewed by the Dean of Students Office.  A report was filed.

14-3171, 10:56 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to the Estill Building, located at 1903 University Avenue, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  The secretary for Undergraduate Admissions report (4) four unauthorized transactions were charged to their department purchase card between February 22, 2014 and February 23, 2014.  Additionally, the complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-3176, 11:54 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to the University Hotel, located at 1604 Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  The reservation coordinator reported (3) unauthorized transactions were charged to their department purchase card on February 24, 2014.  Additionally, the complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-3185, 4:19 p.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to the Health Center, located at 1528 Avenue J, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  The administrative secretary reported (4) four unauthorized transactions were charged to their department purchase card between February 24, 2014 and February 25, 2014.  At the time of the report it was unknown if the department wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-3199, 8:19 p.m., Assault by Contact – Officer was dispatched to the P12 Parking Lot, located in the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to an "Assault” report.  Upon arrival, the officer met with a student who stated she was involved in an incident over a parking space at approximately 6:30 PM.  According to the subject she was standing in a parking space saving it for one of her friends.  A male subject then attempted to park in the parking space and a verbal confrontation ensued.  Subsequently, the complainant refused to vacate the parking space, the male subject continued to position his vehicle further into the parking space eventually making contact with the complainant.  Additionally, the student advised she was struck at both of her knees, did not feel any pain and did not think she was injured.  Furthermore, the complainant refused any medical treatment and expressed she did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

February 24, 2014

14-3100, 10:41 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to ABI, located at 1803 Avenue I, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  The Information Technology Administrative Coordinator reported (4) four unauthorized transactions on their department purchase card.  Additionally, the complainant expressed they wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-3138, 10:22 p.m., Possession of Controlled Substance - Officers checked out with a stranded motorist near the intersection of Eastham Lane and Normal Park Drive.  After speaking with the occupant, some investigation, a consensual search discovered contraband which resulted in charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspect admitted to having marijuana in her undergarment prior to being transported to the jail.  That evidence was removed by female jail staff.  The suspect was also found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a separate possession of marijuana charge from this agency.  A report was filed.

14-3076 at 8:24 pm: A student approached a University Police Officer and reported he lost his wallet. The student was not able to give any specific details about where the property was lost, but a report was completed.

14-3028 at 4:36 PM: A UPD officer responded to Wal-Mart (141 IH-45 South) for a theft in progress.  The officer was in the area of location while his vehicle was being serviced in the 3000 block of Highway 30.  Upon his arrival, employees directed the officer to individuals who were concealing store items without purchase. The officer helped in securing the scene until Huntsville Police Department officers arrived and were able to take the suspects into custody.

14-2976 At 10:04AM, an officer was dispatched to Recreational Sports, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a Credit/Debit Card Abuse report.  The complainant reported fraudulent charges on a SHSU procurement card were found on their account.  A report was filed.

14-2983 At 1:41PM, officer was dispatched to the Health Center, located at 1528 Avenue J, in reference to a Terroristic Threat report.  Complainant reported that an unruly student was on location and began to make threats towards a staff member. A report was filed.

February 20, 2014
14-2903: At 2:12PM, an officer was dispatched to White Hall, located at 800 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a Harassment report. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend, non-student, had been very possessive and had attempted to contact her several times since their break up in October 2013.  Recently, she had observed him sitting in the parking lot at White hall.  The complainant stated that she no longer wished to have contact with him.  The complainant further stated that they had been involved in a sexual relationship that ended in January 2014.  The suspect was contacted and advised that she did not wish to have any further contact, he stated he understood.  A non-prosecution form was signed. A report was filed.

February 19, 2014
14-2820: At 7:08AM, an officer was dispatched to the TRIES building, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Graffiti report.  Subjects reported graffiti was noticed starting Friday, 2/14/2014.  No suspect information was reported.  Report was filed.

14-2869: At 9:00PM, an officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a Harassment report.  Subject advised that yesterday she began receiving calls and texts from an unknown phone number.  No suspect information was given.  Report was filed.

14-2876: At 11:08PM, an officer was dispatched to the CHSS building, located at 1901 Avenue I, in reference to an Assault.  Subject advised that while in the computer lab, a former friend’s girlfriend began arguing with him.  She in turn contacted her boyfriend who came to the lab and confronted the complainant.  During the argument, both parties pushed each other.  The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.  Other party involved was not located.  Report was filed.

February 18, 2014

14-2749: At 10:20AM, an officer was dispatched to the counseling center, located at 1916 Avenue J, in reference to a welfare concern.  Officer transported a student the hospital for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

14-2750: At 10:34AM, an officer was dispatched to the parking garage, located at 1730 Avenue I, in reference to an Interpersonal Conflict.  Subjects were apparently arguing over entrance to the parking garage. 

14-2760: At 1:57PM, an officer was dispatched to the P23 parking lot, located in the 2100 block of Avenue J, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking Report.  Subject was left a note informing of a possible suspect who hit her vehicle and drove away. 

14-2767: At 5:02PM, an officer was dispatched to the P6 parking lot, located in the 1700 block of Bobby K Marks, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking Report.  Subject observed a vehicle strike her vehicle from across the parking lot. The suspect vehicle was not able to be found due to limited information.

14-2771: At 6:02PM, while on patrol in the 2400 block of Montgomery Road, an officer witnessed a white female staggering through the adjacent parking lot belonging to University Club Apartments.  A few minutes later the officer heard a large commotion involving a verbal disturbance, then observed the female staggering and cursing. Due to the possible danger to herself and others, she was taken into custody for Public Intoxication.

14-2693, 10:40 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to the Residence Life Department, located at 910 Bearkat Boulevard, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  The Residence Life Director reported (4) four unauthorized transactions were made on the department purchase card between February 16th and February 17th.  Additionally, the complainant expressed she wished to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-2658: (12:07 AM) Walker County Communications aired an attempt to locate for a stolen Toyota Camry out of Louisiana. UPD officers located the vehicle traveling through Huntsville on I-45 and performed a traffic stop on it in the 500 block of IH-45 North. A large bag, approximately a ¼ pound, of marijuana was located in the vehicle. The driver was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and both occupants were charged with the offense of Possession of Marijuana.

February 15, 2014

14-2626: (1:25 AM) An officer dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to RA with suspicions concerning underage drinking in a room. Multiple bottles of alcohol were found in the room and two minors cited after admitting to drinking during the night in the room. A report was completed and will be forwarded to the Department of Residence Life and the Dean of Students' Office for Judicial Review.

February 14, 2014

14-2600: (8:25 AM) A projector was found to be missing, possibly stolen, from AB1, located at 1803 Avenue I. The theft may have occurred during the winter break. Equipment missing was entered into a stolen files database and a report was completed.

1400002614: (4:10 PM) An officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to suspicious odor. Officer on scene found residue of marijuana, but not a usable amount of contraband.  A Violation of Student Code of Conduct report was completed and will be forwarded to the Dean of Students Office and the Department of Residence Life.

February 13, 2014

14-2511, 7:04 a.m., Damage to University Property – Officer responded to the Baseball/Softball Complex, located at 530 Bowers Boulevard, to work security at a softball game.  The officer’s vehicle was parked on the west side of the baseball side of the complex.  Upon conclusion of the game the officer discovered the windshield of his patrol vehicle sustained damage possibly from a baseball scrimmage at the baseball field.  The damage to the patrol vehicle consisted of the windshield being cracked on the driver’s side with the impact point being on the top.  A report was filed.

14-2550, 8:33 p.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “Medical Assist” report.  The Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services was summoned and transported the subject to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

14-2417 - At 8:41AM, an officer was dispatched to Enrollment Management, located at 1903 University Avenue, in reference to a Credit/Debit Card abuse report.  Complainant advised two fraudulent charges were made with a University Procurement Card.  A report was filed.

14-2426 - At 2:00PM, an officer was dispatched to P23, located in the 2100 block of Avenue I, in reference to a Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle report.  Complainant advised that an unknown subject struck her vehicle causing damage to the front driver’s side quarter panel.  No witnesses were located and no suspect information was given.  A report was filed.

14-2433 - At 4:01PM, an officer responded to the Arbors Apartments, located at 555 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a report of criminal mischief.

14-2351, 3:24 a.m., Damage to University Property – Officer observed a handicap sign was damaged in the P24 Parking Lot (near South Paw Dining) in the 2000 block of Avenue J.  During the investigation the officer noted the sign was bent at a ninety degree angle at the base of the pole.  At the time of the report no suspect information was available.  A report was filed.

14-2391 - At 6:18PM, an officer was dispatched to the 1600 Block of Avenue I in reference to a “Lost Property” report.  Female student reported that she misplaced her wallet somewhere in the area of sorority hill.  Report was filed.

February 10, 2014
14-2284, 9:05 a.m., Duty Upon Striking – Officer was dispatched to the P12 Parking Lot, located in the 1900 block of Bobby K. Marks Drive, in reference to a “Duty Upon Striking” report.  A subject reported his vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked in the aforementioned location.  During the investigation the complainant provided a note with suspect information.  A report was filed.

14-2285, 9:12 a.m., Criminal Trespass – Officer was dispatched to the Criminal Justice Center, located at 816 17th Street, in reference to a disruptive student.  A professor reported a student was being disruptive, not following directions and refusing to leave.  Upon arrival, officers were directed to the student in question.  While speaking with the individual he was being uncooperative and would not follow directions from officers while being escorted from class.  Due to the subjects noncompliance he was physically escorted out of the building by the officers and taken into custody.  During this process the individual continued to physically resist the officer’s commands.  While being searched the subject was verbally aggressive and abusive towards the officers.  The subject was transported to the Walker County Jail.  At the jail, the individual was charged with “Criminal Trespass”, “Resist Arrest/Transport/Search” and remanded into the custody of the jail staff.  A report was filed.

14-2290, 10:15 a.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Medical Assist” report.  While speaking with the complainant the incident location was determined to the Lee Drain Building, located at 1900 Avenue I.  The subject stated while attempting to enter the building through an automatic handicap door it closed unexpectedly causing her rolling bag to become trapped.  While attempting to free the bag the individual stated she injured herself.  Medical treatment from the Huntsville/Walker County Emergency Medical Services was refused due to the complainant wishing to seek treatment on her own.  The officer responded to the incident location, determined the door was functioning normally and transported the object in question to the office of the Director of Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management.  A report was filed.

14-2294, 12:37 p.m., Harassment – Officer was dispatched to the Lowman Student Center, located at 1802 Avenue I, in reference to a “Harassment” report.  A student reported she was being stalked by her ex-boyfriend who was not a student.  Additionally, the complainant stated he was sending her unwanted text messages.  When asked, the subject did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

February 8, 2014

Theft (14-2206): At 11:45 AM, an officer responded to a reported theft of earrings from a residence at Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road .  At approximately 4:45 PM the victim contacted the University Police Department stating her earrings were returned.  A report was completed.

Violation of Student Code of Conduct (14-2226): At approximately 8:12 PM, an officer was patrolling the Raven Village parking lot (2100 block of Avenue I) when he observed two individuals exit a vehicle and walk into the residence hall.  As the individuals passed the officer in his patrol vehicle, the officer detected an odor or burnt marijuana emanating from their persons.  Officers searched the individual’s room and vehicle and did not locate any contraband.  The individual’s stated they had just finished smoking marijuana in the vehicle.  A “Violation of Student Code of Conduct” report was completed.

February 7, 2014

14-2129, 1:53 a.m., Graffiti – Officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a “Graffiti” report.  While en-route, the University Police dispatcher advised graffiti was reported on a door in the northwest corner of the garage.  Upon arrival, the officer observed graffiti on a door to an electrical room consisting of the letters “POC” and two other unreadable designs applied in red indelible marker paint.  The graffiti appeared to be old and linked with a series of other graffiti reports that started in October 2013.  Upon conclusion of a search of the area no other graffiti was located.  A report was filed.

14-2141, 10:15 a.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to the Smith-Hutson Building, located at 1821 Avenue I, to assist with a medical related call.  

14-2152, 3:06 p.m., Possession of Marijuana – Officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” report.  The on-duty resident advisor reported detecting the odor of marijuana in a resident’s room.  At that time the officer met with the resident in question who voluntarily directed the officer to marijuana in the room.  Additionally, a multicolored glass pipe was located as well.  The resident was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail.  At the jail, the subject was booked for “Possession of Marijuana” and remanded into the custody of the jail staff.                                                                                               

14-2159, 6:47 p.m., Possession of Marijuana – Officer was dispatched to Jackson Shaver, located at 1201 17th Street, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” report.  Upon arrival, the officer met with the on-duty resident advisor who observed a plastic baggie containing marijuana remnants and residue in a resident’s room.  The resident in question was escorted back to the room by the resident advisor to meet with the officer.  Upon conclusion of a search of the room no other contraband was found.  The marijuana remnants and residue was minimal with no useable amount.  A report was filed.

14-2094, 3:24 p.m., Duty Upon Striking – Officer was dispatched to the P37 parking lot, located in the 1100 block of Bearkat Boulevard, in reference to a “Duty Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle” report.  An Aramark employee reported between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM today an unknown person damaged her vehicle while parked in the aforementioned parking lot.  According to the complainant, another Aramark employee witnessed a brown truck cause the damage.  A report was filed.

February 4, 2014

14-2008, 5:22 p.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was flagged down reference a civil issue at The Woodlands Campus, located at 3380 College Park Drive.  A student reported her vehicle was damaged due to another student opening their vehicle door into her vehicle.  During the investigation the complainant was uncooperative and eventually decided to document the incident.  The officer had both parties involved complete and exchange “Civil Damage” forms.  A report was filed.

14-2020, 10:04 p.m., Damage to University Property – Officers responded to a “Damage to University Property” report at the Center for Biological Field Studies, located at 1866 Fish Hatchery Road.  The Walker County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop a vehicle that resulted in a vehicle pursuit ending up at the above location. During the pursuit the subject drove through a closed gate at the entrance damaging it.  The subject advised the Walker County Communications Center she was suicidal, wasn’t going to stop and had a handgun.  The Walker County Sheriff’s Department took the subject into custody after the Huntsville Police Department negotiated with her to exit her vehicle.  UPD officer documented the damages to University property.  A report was filed.

14-1894 - 10:00 AM: A University Police Officer assisted the Huntsville Police Department on Josey Street where an arrest was made.  A supplement report was completed.

14-1884 - 12:10 AM: Officers were dispatched to the CFS Building (1003 Bowers Boulevard) in reference to a couple arguing. Upon arrival, officers determined a minor assault occurred between a dating couple.  At this time the male was arrested for Class “C” Misdemeanor offense of Assault Family Violence and cited for Public Intoxication.

February 1, 2014
14-1874 - 10:01 PM: Officers were dispatched to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) in reference to a reported alcohol violation. Upon arrival, officers determined that minors were in possession of alcohol.  These individuals were each issued a Class C Misdemeanor citation for the offense of Minor in Possession of Alcohol.  In addition, the resident of the room in question was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. This student was arrested for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana.  The minors were released on scene.

January 30, 2014
14-1696 At 4:46PM, An officer was dispatched to the 20th Street parking lot, located in the 2000 block of Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a Criminal Mischief report.  Upon arrival, the officer noticed a long freshly “keyed” mark along the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle.  The victim stated that the only person that may be angry with her was an unknown female that she exchanged words with over a parking spot earlier that day. A report was filed.

14-1718 At 9:53PM, Officers assisted the Huntsville Police Department while on a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Sycamore.  Huntsville Police needed an officer to stand-by with the passenger of the vehicle while they conducted Field Sobriety Tests on the driver.  Officers remained on scene until another HPD Officer arrived. Supplemental reports were completed.

14-1747 At 12:44AM, Officers responded to the area that the Huntsville Police Department had an individual attempting to evade on a motorcycle.   Due to the ever changing directions in the Avenues and close proximity to several university owned properties, officers headed that direction to assist. The driver of the motorcycle came to stop at 19th Street and Normal Park.  The subject was arrested for outstanding warrants and Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.  Supplemental reports were completed.

January 29, 2014

14-1603 - 11:32 AM, An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village, located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a suspicious odor call.  Resident adviser stated that while conducting rounds she detected the smell of burnt marijuana coming from a room.  Upon contact with the resident, consent was given to search the room.  Search did not yield any illegal substances.  It should be noted that the resident stated that he had smoked marijuana in his room prior to their arrival.  Report was filed.

14-1544, 12:06 a.m., Assist Outside Agency/Huntsville Police Department – Officer assisted the Huntsville Police Department at the Encore Apartments, located at 1410 Nottingham, in reference to a “Fight in Progress.”  The officer was a secondary unit on scene as the Huntsville Police Department conducted their investigation.  A report was filed.

January 27, 2014

14-1520, 5:31 p.m., Theft – Officer was dispatched to Raven Village, located at 2133 Avenue I, in reference to a “Theft” report.  A resident reported a white “Nike” soft shell jacket was taken from his laundry on January 26, 2014 between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.  At the time of the report the complainant did not wish to file a formal criminal complaint.  A report was filed.

14-1523, 5:50 p.m., Lost Property – Officer was dispatched to the P24 Parking Lot, located in the 2000 block of Avenue J, in reference to a “Lost Property” report.  A student reported she lost her car keys.  The officer checked several buildings with the individual but was unable to locate the keys.  A report was filed.                                         

14-1533, 9:38 p.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a “Medical Assist” report.  A student reported an injury was sustained while playing basketball.  The Huntsville/Walker Emergency Medical Services was summoned and transported the individual to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.  A report was filed.

January 26, 2014

14-1455, 5:58 PM - Officers from UPD responded to a request for assistance from DPS Highway Patrol. On arrival at the 118 mile marker on IH-45, officers assisted with security on scene and transported involved persons to the Huntsville Police Department.

14-1469, 10:30 PM - A UPD officer discovered fresh graffiti on the top and fourth levels of the Parking Garage, located at1730 Avenue I . The graffiti was a set of unknown words in light blue paint. The scene was documented and an offense report was completed.

14-1422, At 12:52 AM, a UPD officer assisted HPD in locating a vehicle reported to be driving erratically. A supplement report was filed after evidence was located of a crash and later the vehicle was found by HPD.

January 25, 2014
An officer was dispatched to the 1300 17th Street at 12:12 AM, in reference to suspicious odor.  Upon arrival, the officer located the individual associated with the report and began his investigation.  The minor male student reported that he just finished smoking marijuana.  Further investigation revealed that the male was also in possession of alcohol.  The male was issued a Class C Misdemeanor citation for the offense of Minor in Possession of Alcohol (14-1302).

While at Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston Avenue) at 1:57 AM, an officer wrote 12 Class C Misdemeanor citations to university students who were found to be in possession of alcohol while attending a dorm part (14-1350).

14-1403, 10:06 PM, “Suspicious Incident” - A report was taken at Anne Shaver House (located at 1619 Avenue J) after a female resident reported a black sedan driving slowly near her and staring while she walked to the PAC for an event. The female got to the PAC and the vehicle disappeared. It could not be located and there was no evidence that the vehicle intended to cause any alarm to the female. The incident was documented.

January 23, 2014

14-1274, 9:09 AM, An Officer was dispatched to the Smith Hutson Building, located at 1821 Avenue I, in reference to a Credit/Debit Card abuse report.  Upon arrival the Officer was advised that two fraudulent charges were made using the SHSU department credit card.  Report was filed.

January 22, 2014

14-1221, 9:40 a.m., Credit/Debit Card Abuse – Officer was dispatched to ABIV, located at 1921 Avenue J, in reference to a “Credit/Debit Card Abuse” report.  A staff member in the Career Services Department reported several unauthorized transactions on their department purchase card.  A report was filed.

14-1235, 3:56 p.m., Assist Outside Agency/Warrant Service – Officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (East), located at 2401 Montgomery Road, in reference to a “Suspicious Person” report.  While en-route, the University Police dispatcher advised two black males were reported looking in vehicles.  Upon arrival, the officer located and identified two subjects matching the description.  Both subjects stated they were attempting to sell music compact discs to students and were also on campus visiting a girlfriend as well.  A computerized inquiry into one of the individual’s Texas driver’s license revealed an active arrest warrant issued by the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.  The wanted person was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the aforementioned warrant.  Due to the totality of the circumstances both subjects were issued a “Criminal Trespass Warning” for all of Sam Houston State University property.  The second subject was released.  A report was filed.

14-1252, 9:56 p.m., Assist Outside Agency/Warrant Service – Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Sam Houston Avenue.  While attempting to identify the occupants of the vehicle it was determined the passenger gave the driver her Texas driver’s license for identification purposes.  A computerized inquiry into the driver’s real name and date of birth revealed two active arrest warrants issued by the Huntsville Municipal Court.  The individual was taken into custody for the warrant.  While the officer was speaking with the passenger a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from her breath.  Due to that subject’s state of intoxication the officer felt she would pose a danger to herself or others if released and was taken into custody as well.  Both individuals were transported to the Walker County Jail, booked and remanded into the custody of the jail staff.  A report was filed.

14-1256, 10:45 p.m., Suspicious Odor – Officer was dispatched to the Farrington Building, located at 1908 Avenue J, in reference to a “Suspicious Odor” call.  Custodian staff on scene reported the odor of natural gas on the first floor.  Upon arrival, the officer detected a gas odor consistent with the heater running.  The Huntsville Fire Department was summoned to the scene to confirm there was no actual natural gas leak.  Upon conclusion of their investigation it was determined to be caused by the heater.  A secondary check of the building later in the shift confirmed this finding with no change.  Due to the circumstances the safety officer was notified upon the initial response to the scene.

14-1259, 11:39 p.m., Public Intoxication – Officer was flagged down in the 2500 block of Sam Houston Avenue, by a Hispanic male subject running northbound and stumbling in the road.  The individual stated he was being chased by subjects and needed help.  While speaking with the subject he was acting very paranoid and nervous.  Additionally, the officer observed the subjects eyes to be dilated, glassy and bloodshot; consistent with possibly on a narcotic.  Furthermore, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the individuals breath.  When asked, the subject stated he ingested “coke” earlier in the night and could not describe who he was being chased by.  The subject stated he first had five beers, then only two brews, then only water.  Due to the subject’s state the officer felt he would pose a danger to himself or others if released.  The individual was taken into custody, transported to the Walker County Jail and remanded into the custody of the jail staff.  A report was filed.

January 21, 2014

14-1190, 1:59 PM - A Theft was reported from the HKC, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard.  The theft occurred on January 20, 2014 around 9 PM from the cubbies located outside the Racquetball courts.  Subject advised the cubby was left unsecure and his cell phone was stolen.  A report was filed.

14-1193, 2:52 PM - Officer responded to an Assist Outside Agency request.  A law enforcement agency was transporting a female suspect who “stabbed” the officer during transport.  The suspect  briefly escaped custody from the transporting officer.  After locating the suspect, A UPD officer provided assistance in securing the suspect to safely complete the transport.  A report was filed.

 14-1201, 4:30 PM - A Burglary of Habitation was reported at Jackson-Shaver Hall, 1201 17th Street.  Subject advised that his TV was removed from his dorm room on December 12, 2013.  Subject advised that an ongoing problem with his suite-mate and believe that his suite-mate has the TV.  The Subject further advised that mutual friends stated that the suite-mate is in possession of the TV and will only return it if the subject meets him “face to face” to “settle” a previous problem. A report was filed and an investigation continues.

January 19, 2014

14-1031, 1:23 PM - Damaged University Property - An officer was dispatched to the Lee Drain Building (located at 1900 Avenue I) in reference to a hot water valve in the janitor closet sink on the third floor, that was left slightly open with the hose carrying over into a mop bucket. The slow trickle of water overflowed from the mop bucket and dripped through the ceilings of the 2nd and 1st floor ceilings. Janitors were called for floor mop. The only speculated damage is the few water soaked square ceiling tiles located on the 2nd and 1st floor ceilings.

An officer responded to Raven Village (2133 Avenue I) at 10:06 AM to assist with a reported medical call (14-946).

14-943 - Criminal Trespass - At 5:30 AM, an officer was dispatched to the Steamboat House in the Sam Houston Museum Grounds (1836 Sam Houston Avenue) in reference to an alarm.  Upon arrival, the officer noticed two broken windows and heard hurried footsteps.  Due to the small size of the windows and the rustling of the leaves officers began to search the exterior of the building and surrounding grounds.  Additional officers responded and began searching the museum grounds.    While processing the scene and after the arrival of museum staff, officers entered the building. During a search of the building, officers located one female inside.  The female was arrested for Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief due to damages to the interior and exterior of the building. 

January 17, 2014

AT 12:49 AM, an officer observed a male who was crying and stumbling in the 2000 block of Bobby K. Mark Drive.  Upon checking his welfare, the officer determined that the male was very intoxicated.  The male was arrested and charged with the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Public Intoxication (14-856).

Officer were dispatched to Jackson-Shaver Hall (1201 17th Street) at 3:00 AM in reference to a report of public lewdness.  A male and female were observed engaged in a consensual sexual act in a public hallway.  The male and female were identified and a report was completed.  The incident will be forwarded to the Dean of Students' Office for judicial review (14-863).

An officer was dispatched to Lone Star Hall (910 Bearkat) at 3:04 AM to assist with a reported medical call.  Upon arrival, officers located a female university student who was heavily intoxicated.  The female was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, by ambulance, for further evaluation (14-864).

14-890 - 5:16 PM, Possession of Marijuana - An officer was dispatched to Bearkat Village (2400 Montgomery Road) in reference to a Suspicious Odor call. Upon arrival, the officer located a strong odor of Marijuana at a residence.  After making contact with the occupants of the room, voluntary consent was given for a search.  During the search, Marijuana and paraphernalia was located.  One non-student male was arrested for drug offense and was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning.  A Report was filed.

14-936 - 1:28 AM, Officers responded to Sam Houston Village (1600 Sam Houston) after dispatch observed a highly intoxicated subject being carried through the halls.  Upon arrival, it was determined that emergency medical services was needed due to the subject being unconscious.  The subject’s girlfriend (non-student) was also highly intoxicated and was arrested for Public Intoxication.  It should be noted that the girlfriend was very uncooperative giving officers several false names and dates of birth.  It should be noted that she was also charged with Failure to Identify.

January 15, 2014

14-729, 11:33 AM - An officer was dispatched to the University Police Department regarding a Theft report.  The complainant reported that the theft occurred in the Library on Monday, January 13, 2014.  The complainant advised that he left his wallet unattended on a desk while going to look at a book.  An offense report was filed.

January 14, 2014

14-667, 10:00 a.m., Theft – A student reported that upon returning from the break, several personal items had been stolen from her dormitory.  She contacted her previous roommate that advised she may have taken certain items by mistake when she packed to go home.  The roommate stated she would reimburse her for items that were removed.  It should be noted the victim does not wish to pursue criminal charges for the Theft offense.  Report was filed.

14-673, 1:02 p.m., Theft – An employee at the Dan Rather Communications Building reported that $500 worth of coffee and $50 worth of Advil had been stolen.  The employee could not state exactly how much of both items had been stolen, she could only advise an approximation due to the last ordered inventory being in August.  Report was filed.

AT 3:59 PM, officers from UPD responded to the Motel 6 to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a criminal investigation.  A supplement report was created (14-570).

January 13, 2014
14-606, 11:15 a.m., Burglary of Habitation – Officer was dispatched to the Sigma Sigma Sigma House, located at 1660A Avenue I, in reference to a “Suspicious Incident” report.  A resident reported her dorm key was taken from her room on January 12, 2013 between 3:00 PM and 11:30 PM.  According to another resident a black male was observed going into the complainants’ room taking the key between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.  The black male was described as a lighter skinned black male, clean shaven, short hair, wearing a grey hoodie, dark jeans and in his twenties.  Additionally, the subject was reported returning at 11:30 PM stating the complainant sent him to get some medication but the witness could not locate the medication.  Furthermore, both subjects stated they did not know the male individual.  A report was filed.

January 11, 2014
An officer responded to US 190 (near the intersection of Highway 19) at 12:15 AM to assist with a traffic stop involving a possible intoxicated driver.   The officer responded due the number of occupants located in the vehicle (14-494).

While conducting a traffic stop in the parking lot of the  Teacher Education Center (1908 Bobby K. Marks Drive) at 3:39 PM, the officer determined that the driver (a female university student) was in possession of contraband.  The female was arrested and charged with the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Marijuana and the Class C Misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (14-534).

January 9, 2014
An officer responded to the 1000 block of Avenue H at 10:02 PM to assist the Huntsville Police Department with traffic control while an investigation was completed (14-371).

While in the 2500 block of Lake Road at 4:52 AM, officer observed damage to glass doors of a local business.  The Huntsville Police Department was contacted and an officer arrived to complete the burglary report (14-392).

An officer was dispatched to Belvin-Buchanan Hall (1008 17th Street) at 10:07 PM in reference to graffiti found on a concrete planter.  Information was obtained and an offense report was completed (14-418).

January 7, 2014
An officer responded to the 1800 block of Fish Hatchery Road at 12:21 AM to assist the Walker County Sheriff's Office with a welfare concern report of a child (14-291).

At 2:54 PM, an officer met with a complainant who reported that their department purchasing credit card had fraudulent charges on the account.  An offense report was filed in reference to this report (14-310).

While conducting a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Sam Houston Avenue at 11:31 AM, the officer determined that the driver was wanted on two outstanding warrants of arrest.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Walker County Jail (14-205).

At 7:00 AM, officers responded to the 200 block of Evergreen to assist the Huntsville Police Department with a reported shooting (14-110).

January 1, 2014
An officer was dispatched to White Hall (2101 Avenue I) at 3:30 PM in reference to a report of vandalism.  Upon arrival, officer met with complainant who reported that an unknown person(s) removed the front cover on two fire extinguisher cabinets causing damage to the cabinet.  An offense report was completed (14-20).

1400011139, 10:22 p.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was flagged down in reference to an accident in the 1400 block of 19th Street that the Huntsville Police Department was dispatched to where one vehicle left the scene. After the arrival of the Huntsville Police Department, the officer then assisted with checking the area for the suspect vehicle. While checking the area, the officer observed a trail of fluid at the intersection of 15th Street and Avenue Q. At that time the officer followed the trail to the Connection Apartments, located at 2537 Pine Shadows Drive, where the suspect vehicle was located with extensive front end damage. Initially contact could not be made with the occupants of the vehicle. The subjects then later contacted the University Police Department and officers met with them to complete the investigation. It was determined both of the subjects were intoxicated from consuming alcoholic beverages earlier in the night. Information was obtained for an administrative report and the Huntsville Police Department cited the driver for "Fail to Stop and Give Information", a Class "C" Misdemeanor. A report was filed.1400011143, 11:40 p.m. Criminal Trespass Warning Issued – A Huntsville Police Department officer observed a suspicious vehicle enter the old Jane’s Asphalt, located at 615 16th Street. At that time the officer alerted the University Police Department officers of the situation. A computerized inquiry into the occupant’s Texas driver’s licenses revealed that both had a "Criminal History." Both subjects were issued a "Criminal Trespass Warning" by the University Police Department officer for all of Sam Houston State University property. A report was filed.

1400011495, 9:08 a.m., Accident/AutoPed – Officer assisted the Huntsville Police Department with an accident investigation at Star Circle. A University vehicle struck a bicyclist that was crossing Star Circle. A report was filed.

1400011760 @ 4:09 PM Officers were dispatched to Bearkat Village where a student reported missing boxes of pots and pans after a group assisted her in moving into her dormitory. No suspects could be identified and the property was not located. A report was filed.1400011766 @ 5:46 PM officers were advised by a male that on August 21st he was involved in a single car crash that caused no damaged to university property, but substantial damage to the vehicle he was driving. The driver stated he was distracted by his phone, ran through the stop sign at Avenue M and 17th Street heading southbound, and damaged his vehicle by the force of the car hitting down on the parking lot. A report was filed. No further information.

1400012273 @2:31 AM: A vehicle involved in a city disturbance was stopped by university police for a traffic offense. The driver was arrested for the traffic offense, a passenger for Public Intoxication, and the other was found to have open municipal warrants.

1400012536, 10:45 a.m., Suspicious Odor – Officer was dispatched to the Health and Kinesiology Center, located at 801 Bowers Boulevard, in reference to a possible gas leak. A faculty member reported feeling ill on September 3, 2014 and on September 4, 2014 believing to be caused by a gas leak inside a room. During the investigation it was determined that no gas leak was present and no other harmful factors were detected. A report was filed.1400012549, 2:38 p.m., Assist Outside Agency/Huntsville Police Department – Officer was dispatched to the University Police Department, located at 2424 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to an assault that occurred at the University House Apartments, located at 1300 Smither Drive. Due to the offense location being off campus the complainant was referred to the Huntsville Police Department. However, a University Police officer responded to the Huntsville Police Department to provide the student with their student rights. A report was filed.1400012585, 10:26 p.m., Medical Assist – Officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a student that fell inside an uncovered storm drain. The parent of the victim contacted the University Police Department stating her son was already seeking medical treatment. The officer met with the victim at the scene, documented the scene and injury of the student. At that time, the Safety Officer and Physical Plant was contacted about the situation. Physical Plant responded to block off the area of the uncovered storm drain. A report was filed.1400012590, 1:08 a.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a "Welfare Concern." While en-route, the University Police dispatcher stated they observed via security cameras a highly intoxicated female subject being assisted into the dorm. Officer made contact with the subjects at a dorm room, determined the intoxicated female student was a minor and did not live at the dorm. Additionally, it was learned the subjects left a party at a local apartment complex where the female subject consumed alcoholic beverages. The female subject was released to her sober room-mate and Residence Life was notified of the situation. A report was filed.1400012591, 2:09 a.m., Violation of Student Code of Conduct – Officer was dispatched to Sam Houston Village, located at 1600 Sam Houston Avenue, in reference to a "Welfare Concern." While en-route, the University Police dispatcher advised they observed via security cameras a highly intoxicated male subject being assisted to his dorm room by a female subject. Officer responded and made contact with the subjects at the male’s dorm room. During the investigation it was determined both subjects were minors and the female did not live at the dorm. Additionally, the male subjected stated he consumed alcoholic beverages earlier in the night at a local fraternity house party and felt pressured by the fraternity to "fit in" by consuming alcoholic beverages. The male subject was released at his residence due to being conscious, alert and the female was escorted out of the dorm. A report was filed.
