The Samuel Walker Houston Museum and Cultural Center, which formerly served as a school for Huntsville’s Black youth prior to integration, strives to preserve the history and legacy of its namesake and support his core values and principles by educating, exhibiting and maintaining a facility and environment that serves the community and public.

Raven's Call to Honor Late Bearkats

Sam Houston State University will commemorate the lives of students, faculty, staff and alumni who have passed away between March 1, 2022 and Jan. 31 with the annual Raven’s Call ceremony. The tradition of honoring those gone but not forgotten Bearkats will continue Friday at noon beneath the Ron and Ruth Blatchley Bell Tower.
