What is Joint Admission?
Joint Admission is a special alliance between your community college and Sam Houston State University. This partnership was developed to make your transition to SHSU as smooth as possible. You can access many of the resources available to Sam students and receive some Bearkat perks before you actually enroll.
Who is eligible?
Any Blinn, Lee, LSC, Victoria, or Austin Community College student wanting to transfer with 12-17 transferable college level hours with a minimum of a 2.5 gpa or with 18 or more transferable college level hours with a minimum of a 2.0 gpa. You cannot be on suspension from any college or university.
What are the benefits?
- There is no fee to apply but joint admission students will be assessed a $45 enrollment at time of registration.
- Academic advising from both campuses to ensure the most effective and efficient path to graduation.
- A BearkatOne Card ( ID and/or debit card); this card will also give you access to the SHSU library as well as free admission to SHSU sporting events.
- A free SHSU email account that can be used anywhere.
- Easy transferability of courses between the two schools enabling you to be awarded with an Associate's degree even after leaving the community college. Your degree plan and transcript will be automatically updated each semester.
