Financial Aid & Scholarships

We are now uploading 2015-16 FAFSAs and accepting TASFA applications for eligible students.  You will be notified of any additional requirements via SHSU e-mail.  If you have applied for admissions and submitted your FAFSA or TASFA at least four (4) business days ago, then you may check your financial aid status on My Sam.

Summer financial aid awards will be available mid-April for students with remaining eligibility for 2014-2015.  You will recieve a notification to your SHSU e-mail account if you are awarded.  Read more here.

SHSU Selected as Terry Foundation School

Incoming freshmen can apply through ScholarX for academic scholarships, as well as, the full ride Terry Foundation Scholarship.  Please visit the SHSU Terry Website for additional information.


New Document Requirement

Incomplete verification packets will NOT be accepted.  This includes, but is not limited to:  forms, tax return transcripts and/or any other requested documents for verification purposes or special circumstances. No exceptions!


IMPORTANT FAFSA updates Due to Regulation Changes

The 2014-2015 FAFSA encourages students and their parents to import tax information from the IRS. The IRS Data Retrieval saves time and eliminates the probability of being chosen for verification. To proceed, you MUST be on an installment plan during the Fall or Spring semesters.  Summer does not have that requirement.

The Net Price Calculator is intended for incoming freshman as a means of estimating the amount of aid they will receive. Actual amounts may vary based on application date and availability of funds.
