The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) supports and promotes scholarly activity conducted by faculty, staff, and students at Sam Houston State University.  ORSP is organized by five support units that help researchers and scholars promote the success of their scholarship and find external opportunities for funding.  The Proposal Development unit in ORSP assists scholars in efforts to increase the quantity and quality of proposals submitted for external funding.  Staff provide expertise to develop proposals for submission, as well as find funding opportunities, collaborators, and resources of specific interest by the researcher/scholar.  Staff in Proposal Submissions will assist with all aspects of proposal and budget development and oversee the proposal submission process.  The Technology Transfer and Contracts unit of ORSP negotiates contracts with sponsors agreeing to support scholarship, and supports intellectual property (IP) disclosures and assists with the commercialization.  The Research Integrity and Compliance unit within ORSP helps protect scholars and the Sam Houston State University by ensuring that all scholarship is conducted ethically and responsibly thus complying with federal and state laws and regulations.  Finally, the Media and Communications unit is dedicated to all efforts related to developing publicity and visibility for all scholarship.
