The minor in Sports Media will enhance your preparation for careers that involve media production or sports administration, and for graduate programs in digital media or sports management. The program offers a flexible array of courses that develop critical understanding combined with technical skills in broadcasting and journalism. In advanced courses, you will gain experience broadcasting or writing about Bearkat sports on campus. For careers that range from coaching to highlight editor in television, and from youth minister to online journalism, the sports media minor will develop your expertise in the way that sports are organized and shared today.

Mass Communication majors will not be allowed to count courses required for their concentration toward the minor in Sports Media. Prescribed electives for the minor should be taken instead to meet the 18 credit hour total. Mass Communication majors will be permitted to count concentration electives toward the minor.
