Charge
The Provost's initial charge to the committee:
… task force related to the establishment of a center to facilitate academic development of faculty, administrators, staff, and students at Sam Houston State University. The task force will include representatives from each of the five colleges along with two or three at-large representatives.
The overarching goal of the center will be to advance teaching and learning among these various constituencies. I am requesting that the task force study the feasibility of such a center and make recommendations regarding the governance, mission, and strategic goals of the center, as well as implementation strategies and timeline.
PACE
MISSION
The Professional and Academic Center for Excellence (PACE) provides a campus resource for learning and teaching to the university community. By creating, coordinating, and maintaining a variety of materials, programs, and activities, PACE promotes excellence by equipping faculty, administrators, staff, and students with tools designed to enhance their abilities to fulfill their respective roles.
