Each participant in the Leadership Academy will need a senior leader coach to mentor them through the program. The coach is an individual that will push the participant and is key to the leader development process. Each participant will have the opportunity to identify the coach of their preference or the participant has the option to have a senior leader coach recommended to them if they prefer.
The senior leader coach position will demand some time. The participant will meet with their coach at least twice a month. The program administrators may also request the coaches to participate in one monthly meeting to provide feedback on the continuous improvement of the program.
The coach characteristics include someone that makes a commitment to the participant, is prepared for each engagement, makes a difference and allows the participant to realize their potential. The coach comes to the table open-minded to learn new ideas, is an engaged listener, and walks the leader development journey with the participant.
