Silke Bugge, M.Ed.

Silke Bugge graduated from the Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany with a master degree to teach German language and literature and English as a foreign language. The focus of her master thesis was on how to define and teach world literature in the public school system. She taught German language /literature and English in the public school system in Berlin, Germany from 1989 – 2000. Her teaching included learners on all levels as well as bilingual immersion.

Through an exchange program for teachers between Berlin (Senatsverwaltung) and the Aldine school district, Silke Bugge began to work in the public school in system in Houston in 2000. She worked for the Aldine School District until 2014. She taught English to second language learners.

Throughout her teaching career Silke Bugge continued to teach German to native speakers as well as speakers with different language backgrounds. She taught German at the German Institute for the South West and is also currently teaching at the German Saturday School Houston. She started to work as a pool lecturer for German at SHSU in the fall semester of 2016.
