Shuangyue "Shaun" Zhang, Ph.D.

Shaun Zhang was born and grew up in China. After receiving a B.A. and an M.A. in English, he moved to the United States to study communication in 1999. He joined the Communication Studies faculty in August 2005 after he obtained his Ph.D. from Ohio State University.

Shaun's research interests are in the area of interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and computer-mediated communication. His articles have appeared in Communication Monographs, Communication Research, Personal Relationships, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Health Communication, Asian Journal of Social Psychology, Western Journal of Communication, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Communication Reports, Communication Research Reports, and Communication Teacher. He also served on the Editorial Board of Journal of Applied Communication Research and Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. He teaches courses in interpersonal communication, introduction to communication and research, intercultural communication, interpersonal conflict, research methods, statistics, and health communication at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
