Frank J. Robinson '55

FRANK J. ROBINSONFrank J. Robinson, a resident of Huntsville, is completing his fourth term as county judge of Walker County. Judge Robinson will retire from office after his term is complete. Robinson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in history from Sam Houston State University in 1955. Robinson's three children, Polly, Nancy and Frank, Jr., and his grandson, Frank Robinson III, are also all ax-students of SHSU. Robinson retired in 1981 as District Superintendent of Gulf State Utilities, where he was employed for 43 years. He was named Rotary Statesman in 1990 and is a current member and past president of the Huntsville Rotary Club. In addition to the Rotary Club, Robinson has been involved in various other organizations and events. He was a member of the Huntsville School Board and City Council and is a past president of thee Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Walker County Farm Bureau for 20 years and has served several commissions for the city of Huntsville. Robinson is a member of the Board of Directors of American Bank and of the New Army of the Republic of Texas. He is involved in the activities of the First United Methodist Church, serving as a Friendship Bible Class teacher and a lay speaker. He is an active member of the American Cancer Society, the Arabia Temple Shrine and has served as board director and chairman of the United Fund. Robinson has also been very involved in the activities of his alma mater. He was a member of the SHSU Alumni Board from 1946-1965. He also helps raise scholarships for SHSU students each year and donates annually to the President's Discretionary Fund.
