This learning community is for first year students who display a strong drive to be successful at SHSU.  It is tailored to students who have taken advantage of opportunities to get college credit in high school and to students who, whether they live on or off campus, are excited to be leaders in the SHSU community.  Students in the Advance Learning Community take UNIV 1301 in the fall and an additional one to two classes together each semester.  They also have opportunities to participate in community service through program activities and through their coursework.
