Howdy! My teaching career began in the wonderful world of kindergarten in 2003. I took a break from the classroom to conquer grad school, train early childhood educators, manage a private preschool, work for the State of Texas Child Care Licensing Division as a social worker & supervisor and establish a new high quality faith-based early childhood center! Now I am excited to be a difference maker at SHSU Charter School!
I love the SHSU Charter School education model as it allows me to be a reflective teacher who can implement theory into practice, which equals best practices for all children! I am continually growing as a teacher due to the ongoing support from the school’s teaching team, school leadership & administration, professors from the SHSU Education Department and charter school parents. I not only get to develop a class community with my first grade friends, but I get to partner with all parents & guardians!
I have been happily married for 18 years to a great loving & supportive guy, Paul. We are blessed with two daughters, Bailey (11) and Camryn (7) who are proud little bearkats at the Brighton location. I love making memories as a family. Also, I enjoy baking, party planning, photography, the country, gardening and retail therapy!
