As part of the APICS 2017 Conference, participants were able to listen to two keynote speakers: John Mackey, Co-Founder and CEO of Whole Foods Market, and Derreck Kayongo, Founder of the Global Soap Project. Both are widely recognized for their consciousness in global health. Mr. Mackey was the visionary for Whole Planet Foundation to help end poverty in developing nations, and Mr. Kayongo is a renowned expert in environmental sustainability. Additionally, a line-up of presenters that included educators, innovators, authors and business leaders shared their expertise through educational sessions. Attendees from all over the world gained real-world experience from various professionals during the business conferences.

Spotlight sessions covered a wide range of topics that included logistics, leadership, risk management, and so much more!  Session titles such as: Unlocking the Values of S&OP, Introducing SCOR 12.0, Sales & Operations Planning vs. Master Production Scheduling: What’s the Difference, and How to Achieve Personal Sustainability. According to Mohammed Alsharif, SHSU APICS President, “attending the APICS annual conference was an extremely enriching experience. We had the opportunity to meet professionals from numerous countries around the world, which resulted in expanding our network of professionals.”
