Aid began applying Monday, 08/16/10, and will continue to do so daily. Students should check their fee statements for balances due.  Fee statements are located in Sam Web under "Financial System".

Federal Direct Loans for Everyone

Beginning Summer 2010, all subsidized and unsubsidized loans, including PLUS loans,offered by SHSU will be Federal Direct Loans.  Direct Loans are more advantageous for students than the FFELP Stafford Loans were; the applications are easier, interest rates are lower and loan servicing will be handled by one servicer, the federal government.
