MOVE-IN INFORMATION

Fall 2026 Move-In Dates

Appointments required for move-in. You must be checked in by 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 18th.

First-Year Students:

Upperclassmen Students:

  • August 13-18, 2026 - Residence Halls & Apartments Open (by appointment only)
  • August 19, 2026 - First Class Day

Move-In Checklist: 

→ Request your Bearkat OneCard
→ Communicate with your roommate and/or suitemates about shared items like shower curtains, rugs, cleaning supplies, etc.
→ Check into your residence hall
→ Sign your Resident Agreement and pick up your key(s)
→ Meet your roommates and/or suitemates
→ Meet your Resident Advisor (RA)
→ Pick up textbooks

Know Before You Arrive

→ Bedding for an XL Twin Bed (36" x 78")
→ Flashlight
→ Alarm Clock
→ Power Strip/Surge Protector
→ Clothes Hangers
→ Bath Towels
→ Toiletries
→ Cleaning Supplies
→ First Aid Kit + Thermometer
→ Refrigerator (5.0 cu.ft or less)*
*Students may not bring a refrigerator if one is provided by the university.
→ Personal Routers
→ Microwave
→ Weapons
→ Candles, Plug Ins, and Incense
→ Halogen Lamps
→ Extension Cords
→ Pets (except fish)
→ Valuables or Lots of Cash

Most residence halls use card access for building entry. In order to enter your residence hall, you must have your Bearkat OneCard in hand and activated when you arrive. To obtain your official student ID, please contact the Student Account Services Department at 936-294-1083.

Every residence hall is unique. Please refer to our Residence Life Handbook for building specific hanging rules.

KatPost delivers all mail and packages from the U.S. Postal Service, while FedEx & UPS can deliver directly to your locations.  Student mail should be addressed with a Student ID number to KatPost.

If you have decided to attend another university or take on a different challenge, you must cancel your housing reservation with us. To cancel, log into the Housing Portal, click on "Apply Here" and cancel the housing application.
