Honoring Excellence
After graduation, SHSU alumni continue to embody the university’s motto, “The measure of a Life is its Service.” The Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards honor Bearkats who have made meaningful contributions to their profession, community, or alma mater. Each year, a select group of outstanding alumni are celebrated at the Distinguished Alumni Gala, where the Distinguished Alumni Award, Outstanding Young Alumni Award, and Alumni Service Award are presented.
