Created in 2023, our department provides you with personalized assistance as you navigate the process of utilizing your veteran and dependent education benefits. ​​Whether you're a veteran, an active service member, or a dependent, our team is here to ensure that your transition to SHSU is seamless and successful. 

What We Offer:

  • Step-by-step guidance on benefit utilization. 
  • Clear answers to your questions about VA and TVC education benefits. 
  • Timely updates and support to ensure you meet deadlines and requirements. 

All documents must be submitted through our online certification request system. Documents submitted via email, fax, or mail will not be accepted. ​

​​We are dedicated to honoring the service of our military-affiliated students by providing unwavering support, expert guidance, and access to the educational benefits they’ve earned. ​

  • ​​Federal Benefits ​

    VA (Veterans Affairs) educational benefits are federal benefits earned by a service member or veteran. Benefit entitlement can change due to length of service, discharge characterization, as well as home of record/place of entry. For more information or to see if you qualify visit the VA website.  

  • ​​Hazlewood Benefit​

    Veterans that entered the service with residence or place of entry as Texas, the Lone Star State thanks you for your service with the Hazlewood Act. This Act provides veterans with 150 credit hours to utilize in higher education. Check out more information at the Texas Veterans Commission website.
