ACCEPTED TRANSFER CHECKLIST
Please complete these mandatory tasks promptly. You must submit transcripts, complete financial aid forms, meet with your academic advisor and register for classes.
Activate your SHSU email and computer account through SamWeb. Your SHSU email is the only email used by SHSU offices after you are admitted to SHSU. You need this email to access different portals and register for Bearkat Orientation.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline each year. Review the Financial Aid Website and complete all requirements as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Complete the Scholarships4Kats application by the priority deadline each year. We automatically send your completed application to all relevant scholarships, and selected recipients receive an email in their SHSU email account with additional instructions.

All incoming students are encouraged to schedule a 1‑on‑1 advising appointment before registering for classes.
Please note: You will need to wait one day after being admitted to SHSU before you can schedule an advising appointment within the online scheduling platform. Please check the Who's My Advisor page before scheduling, and make sure you have submitted all of your college transcripts before you arrive.

Register for classes through the Bearkat Registration Dashboard, located within MySam. You can also use the dashboard to add, remove, or change courses.

Pay your tuition and fees by the deadline stated on your fee statement. Payments can be made online or at the Student Account Services (SAS) Office.

Register your Bearkat OneCard, the official ID of SHSU, online or in-person. You must present a valid government or state issues photo ID to request your Bearkat OneCard. Activation is required for residence hall and dining hall access.
