By organizing research around shared challenges, SHSU strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration, expands student research opportunities, and positions faculty teams to pursue competitive, externally funded research with government, industry, and community partners.
Three graduate students and three professors from the Sam Houston State University College of Criminal Justice have been recognized by the American Society of Criminology for their research. The recipients were presented with their awards during the 2025 ASC Annual Meeting, held Nov.12-15 in Washington, D.C.
Third-year student doctor Jesus Andres Osornio is a contributing author on new research published in the November/December issue of the “Annals of Family Medicine,” one of the most influential journals in primary care. The study offers a promising, community-centered strategy to close language gaps in clinics that serve patient populations who may not be native English speakers.
SHSU-COM hosted its fifth annual Student Research Day, highlighting the depth of student-led research and scholarship across the college.
