Graduate Programs in Agricultural Sciences
The School of Agricultural Sciences offers three graduate-level opportunities designed to prepare students for leadership in agriculture, business, and sustainability.
Master of Science in Agriculture
The MS in Agriculture provides a strong foundation in research methods, statistics, and major agricultural disciplines. Students may:
- Specialize in a chosen field of agriculture
- Pursue teacher certification in Agricultural Sciences (eligible to teach in Texas public schools)
- Choose a thesis option for future doctoral study or a non-thesis option for professional advancement

MBA – Agribusiness Option
The Master of Business Administration, Agribusiness Option combines business acumen with agricultural expertise.
- 21–24 core MBA hours in the College of Business Administration
- 12–15 hours of pre-approved graduate electives in Agribusiness

Master of Agriculture in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Environment (SAFE)
The SAFE program explores sustainable practices, modern farming, food safety, small business marketing, and alternative enterprises. Ideal for small landowners, urban farmers, educators, and entrepreneurs.
Program Highlights:
- 36 credit hours
- Fully online, non-thesis
- No admission exam required
A Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture (12 credit hours, online) is also available.
