Political science is ranked #3 on The Princeton Review's "Top 10 College Majors" list due to its engaging and dynamic nature. Students in this field study politics at local, state, and federal levels. The faculty provides award-winning instruction that develops critical thinking, communication, and research skills, preparing graduates for careers in law, business, government, advocacy, non-profit management, public relations, policymaking, and education.
Sam Houston State University's Department of Political Science offers Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs, as well as minors in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, and Legal Studies. Students can also enhance their education through Model United Nations, internships, study abroad programs, and participation in the Center for Law, Engagement, and Politics (LEAP).

Now graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and minors in History, Psychology and Political Science, she is leaving SHSU with not only an impressive academic record but a powerful sense of direction.
