SHSU College of Criminal Justice Summer Camp
Are you a high school student between the ages of 15 and 17 with a passion for criminal justice?
Would you like to explore this exciting field through hands-on experiences and connect with professionals who work in the field every day?
Join us for an immersive four-day in-person summer camp where you'll get a real-world look into the world of criminal justice. You'll meet and interact with federal and state law enforcement agents, university professors, current SHSU criminal justice students, and other high school students who share your interests.
Camp activities include:
- Investigating a mock crime scene
- speaking directly with criminal justice professionals
- Learning from experts in areas like forensic science, law enforcement, and public safety
Past guest speakers have included representatives from the DEA, FBI, U.S. Marshals, Houston Fire Investigation, Army CID, U.S. Military Police, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Harris County Medical Examiner's Office, Huntsville Police, and Sam Houston State University.

CJ Summer Camp 2025 Dates
Session 1: June 8th - 12th
Session 2: June 22nd - June 26th
Session 3: July 6th - 10th
What it Costs & What's Included
The $725 registration fee includes:
Camp T-shirt, backpack, and other cool camp swag.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided Monday through Wednesday, with Sunday providing dinner only and Thursday providing breakfast and lunch.
Expert instruction from real Criminal Justice professionals.
Additional Information:
Round trip airport transportation is offered from George Bush Intercontinental Airport ONLY for an additional $150 fee.
Participants must be 15 - 17 years of age at the time of the designated camp session.
All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2025. Students will be notified by mail no later than May 15, 2025 if they have been selected.
Complete camp payment must be received no later than June 2, 2025.
No refund will be given if cancelation is within two weeks of designated camp session.
