All-State Choir Camp
ALL-STATE Choir CAMP
Join the Choral and Voice faculty of Sam Houston State University School of Music, along with master teachers from around the state, for a four-day camp of music making and fellowship! Get a leg up on the audition process, while having amazing experiences and making friends that will last a lifetime. SHSU's All-State Choir Camp is a great way to spend your summer!

- Resident Camper: $375
- Commuting Camper: $290
A $75, non-refundable deposit is required for initial registration, however, feel free to pay the full amount if that is your preference. All payments must be completed by the registration deadline.

Who should attend
All-State Choir Camp is open to any student who will be eligible to audition for the High School All-State Choirs in the upcoming fall. This includes current 8th graders who will enter 9th grade after camp through current 11th graders who will be entering 12th grade in the fall.
What to expect
Our camp experience is designed by our directors to be the most enjoyable and effective camp experience there is! Our camp faculty is comprised of some of the finest choral musicians in the Houston metro area. They will play an integral role in helping you develop as a musician and preparing you for the audition process.
At SHSU, you will learn all of the Large School Choir (LSC) Mixed and Treble or Tenor-Bass music. Students from Small Schools are welcome to attend; however, sectionals and rehearsals will focus exclusively on the Large School packets.
In addition, we will prepare you for what to expect during the audition process, including strategies for sight-reading and how to continue the learning process after camp. Of course, there will be an end of camp performance, but more importantly, we want you to leave campus with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully move through the audition process. Choir Camp would not be complete without a fun-loving, engaging camp staff and fun activities while you are on campus, so come prepared to have fun, learn, and make friendships and lasting memories!

FAQs
Any student who will be eligible to audition for the high school All-State Choirs in the coming fall is eligible. This means current 8th graders who will be in 9th grade in the fall after camp, up through current 11th graders who will be in 12th grade this coming fall.
Students from Small Schools are encouraged to attend, but we will only be covering the Large School, Tenor-Bass, and Treble packets in sectionals and rehearsals.
We do not provide music to campers. You can pick up the music in person, or have it sent to you by contacting AMC Music in Houston. Music is typically available after May 1.

No, but it’s way more fun. You will be staying in dorm “suites” with other campers and will form close bonds with those staying with you. We highly recommend staying on campus.
