Create, Learn, and Explore This Summer

SHSU Art offers summer camps and workshops designed for students, educators, and community members who want to grow their creative skills. From hands-on studio experiences to professional development opportunities, our programs provide an inspiring environment to learn, make, and connect with others who share a passion for art and design.

Summer Camps

Discover creative day camps for middle and high school students that build artistic skills, spark imagination, and provide hands-on experiences in SHSU’s Art facilities.

Animation Creation is a week-long day camp for middle and high school students (grades 7–12). Students spend mornings in the computer lab creating animations and afternoons strengthening their drawing skills. They’ll learn the principles of animation while experimenting with digital and hands-on techniques to create 2D animations. All tools and supplies are provided.

Art Against the Odds is a community-based project created in partnership with the Hospitality House. It provides families and children of incarcerated individuals with a safe, non-verbal way to express themselves through art.
