The Teaching & Learning Center supports instructors through confidential, formative classroom assessment services designed to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve student learning. Through student feedback and peer observation opportunities, you will gain meaningful insights into classroom dynamics, student engagement, instructional strategies, and learning experiences. Our observation services are intended for professional growth and are separate from formal personnel evaluations.
Why Classroom Assessment Matters
Classroom assessment and observation provide instructors with valuable evidence about what students are experiencing and learning in their courses. Research suggests that combining student feedback with peer observations and instructor self-reflection can help you identify strengths, refine instructional practices, and create more engaging learning environments. As a student-centric university, we are tuned in to what our students need to thrive.
Benefits include:
- Gaining insight into student engagement and participation
- Identifying barriers to learning
