The Division of Student Affairs is giving an exclusive Sammy the Bearkat keychain to the first 500 students who complete the required registration for Bearkat Kickoff. Winners will be notified via email and can pick up their gift from the Bearkat Kickoff table during orientation check-out.

Choose Your Residence Hall

All students entering SHSU within 1 year of high school are required to reside on-campus and purchase a University Resident Meal Plan their first year of college, usually fall and spring semesters. Submit your housing application now for preferred residence hall placement and roommate selection.

Bearkat Camp is an optional three-day, two-night experience for incoming SHSU freshmen that focuses on the spirit, pride, and traditions of Sam Houston State University. Make friends, learn SHSU traditions, connect with leaders, build confidence, and kick-start your college journey with fun, team-building activities before Kick-off classes even begin!
