PARKMOBILE UPDATE

Our campus supports ParkMobile for standard parking only; Express Pay and camera parking features are not supported.

Safe parking, secure future

Parking helps pay for school safety measures. Secure your parking for the year now to avoid stress later, or use the convenient ParkMobile app to pay as you go. With an annual ePermit, pay-by-hour, charging stations, two garages, and plenty of lots and on-street parking available, SHSU has all your parking needs covered. Handicap, motorcycle, and EV parking options are strategically located throughout campus to ensure the parking needs of our entire SHSU community are met.

HANDICAP / DISABLED VETERANS

Our office verifies ADA credentials before issuing a parking permit to preserve the integrity of accessible (ADA) parking spaces on campus. Proof of eligibility is required for authorization. Accessible parking privileges are issued only to credential holder. See additional FAQ's below.

Disabled Veteran (DV) license plates are issued a free campus parking permit and may park in designated campus parking areas. DV plates without the International Symbol of Access (ISA) or a disabled parking placard are not authorized for accessible (ADA) parking spaces.

Individuals with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or greater through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs are also eligible for a free parking permit upon verification of eligibility. Ratings may be verified by providing a copy of your VA Benefit Summary Letter.

In accordance with Texas law (SB 792), those with DV plates require either a valid disabled parking placard or a license plate displaying the ISA to park in accessible parking spaces.

Parking garage access is not included.

Parking privileges are issued only to the credential holder.

The disabled parking placard or ADA license plate, along with the requestor’s Driver’s License, must be submitted through the parking portal, by email, or in person for approval.

For Disabled Veterans, proof of eligibility may be provided through a VA Benefit Summary Letter confirming service-connected disability rating.

If submitting documentation by email, please password-protect your file and contact our office with the password.

Once proof of eligibility has been provided, individuals may purchase an ADA annual e-permit or pay by the hour using the ParkMobile app to park in designated accessible spaces.

Special ePermits are available to students who must park closer due to a temporary injury or illness. Temporary special permits are not authorized for use in accessible (ADA) parking spaces but may be used in Zone 1 for a period not to exceed three weeks.
