About e-Permits
An annual ePermit provides year-round access to designated SHSU parking areas. Each permit year begins in mid-August and must be renewed by the following August. ePermits are electronic and linked directly to your license plate(s).
General Information
- Students may register up to two license plates.
- Employees may register up to four license plates.
- Only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time.
Parking access varies by time of day:
- Peak Hours: Weekdays, 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Off-Peak Hours: Weekdays after 5:01 p.m. and weekends.

Waitlists
Some permits are controlled by waitlists. Zone 1 permits are always waitlisted and available only to faculty and staff, typically issued within 24 hours. If you’ve placed yourself on a waitlist and haven’t heard back, please contact our office.
Prorates & Returns
Prorates: After October, new annual ePermit purchases will be prorated. (Prorates do not apply when citations are waived.)
Returns: After the 20th class day of each long semester, ePermits are no longer eligible for a refund.
Payments
Students & Employees: Balances transfer to your MySam account overnight. Payment is available the following day.
Visitors: Pay with a credit/debit card through the parking portal.
Outstanding balances from unpaid permits or citations must be cleared before purchasing or renewing an ePermit.
Zone Designations
Zone 1: Divided into East and West by Avenue I.
Residential Zone: Divided into North, South, East, and West (Avenue I and Bowers Blvd).
Helpful Tips
Parking is not guaranteed in your preferred area, except in reserved spaces. Always arrive early and have a backup plan.

Do I need an ePermit for the Woodlands Campus?
Yes, Woodlands Campus ePermits are free and available online at www.shsu.edu/park. This permit is only valid at The Woodlands Campus.
Do I need an ePermit for the University Plaza, located at 1 Financial Plaza, Huntsville, TX 77320?
Yes. You'll need an ePermit with Zone 3 permissions or pay by hour with the ParkMobile app (Zone 1830).
Do I need an ePermit for the College of Osteopathic Medicine, 925 City Central Ave, Conroe, TX 77301?
