CURRICULUM MAPPING OVERVIEW
Spring 2026 Sessions
Register in Talent Management through the MySam portal.
Curriculum mapping is a systematic process that allows us to represent an academic program's structure and content visually. It provides a clear overview of a program's courses, learning objectives, and assessments, helping to ensure that the curriculum aligns with the program's goals and objectives. By creating a curriculum map, we can identify gaps, redundancies, and areas for improvement in a program, ultimately enhancing the quality of education we provide to our students.
The Office of Assessment will host a session to discuss the benefits of curriculum mapping, provide examples of curriculum maps and emphasis levels, and explain how assessment is a cornerstone of the process. This presentation is best suited for academic programs (degrees, minors, and certificates) and any other units that have learning objectives in their assessment plans, but all faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
