The Cyber Forensics Intelligence Center and the Department of Computer Science support SHSU students learning through practice by engaging in a variety of national and regional cyber security competitions.

Students from Sam Houston State University are scheduled to compete in the 2025 Southwest CCDC Regionals.
2024
November 16 - Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition
SHSU students competed in the national Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition regionals and gained valuable cyber offense experience.
October 16 - Hivestorm
Sam Houston students participated in the national Hivestorm competition and practiced valuable cyber defense skills.
March 22 - Southwest CCDC Regional Competition
SHSU students competed in the 2024 Southwest CCDC and made a great showing.
