SHSU Spring Commencement Speakers Announced

Sam Houston State University will welcome three notable speakers for the Spring 2023 Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 11-13 in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas. Jody Czajkoski, Ann H. Lê and Colonel Travis Mills will speak to graduating students who have applied for degrees to be awarded.

On May 11, Jody Czajkoski will address students from the College of Health Sciences and College of Arts and Media. A 2000 graduate of SHSU, Czajkoski currently serves as the Mayor of Conroe, Texas where he is committed to developing and highlighting community opportunities. He is also an entrepreneur, and the founder of MHW Commercial Real Estate.

On May 12, Ann H. Lê will address students from the College of Business Administration, College of Humanities and Social Sciences and College of Education. Lê is a published researcher and speaker. She serves as a behavioral specialist and student support specialist at Tomball ISD. As a special education advocate, she supports building leaders through her consultant work in restorative practices and culturally responsive special education assessments of Asian students. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from SHSU.

On May 13, Colonel W. Travis Mills will address students from the College of Criminal Justice and College of Science and Engineering Technology. Mills is the Commander of the 502d Force Support Group in the Department of Defense consisting of two squadrons and over 3,100 Military and Civilian members. He is a Distinguished Military Graduate of SHSU where he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1999 and later branched Special Forces in 2004.
