The Division of Student Affairs has announced the lineup for the highly anticipated 2019 Sammypalooza. Sam Houston State University will welcome X Ambassadors, Gunna and Maddie & Tae to the Johnson Coliseum on Wednesday, March 27.

Year after year, SHSU provides its students with the opportunity to enjoy performances by some of the biggest names in music without having to leave campus. Assistant Director for Traditions and Special Events Steven Begnaud believes the concert series adds more than just temporary excitement on campus.

“I believe Sammypalooza has added another element of building tradition here at SHSU,” Begnaud said. “For students to be able to see big name artists perform in their own backyard is a great part of being at SHSU. It helps builds inclusion and a way for Student Affairs to give back to students.”

X AMBASSADORS-Headliner

X Ambassadors' debut album, "VHS," reflected on the events that shaped the lives of lead vocalist and lyricist Sam Harris and his older brother, keyboardist Casey Harris, growing up in Ithaca, New York. The gold-certified album debuted at No. 7 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and spawned the platinum-selling "Renegades," which spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Alternative chart, and the double-platinum "Unsteady." The success of "VHS" sent X Ambassadors on a nearly two-year touring odyssey that found them winning over fans around the world and performing at the Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful and Shaky Knees festivals, among others, and establishing themselves as a world-class rock band. X Ambassadors is currently working on their sophomore album. For more information, visit www.xambassadors.com
