On Dec.12, Alyssa Barrientos was the first student to receive a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the Sam Houston State University College of Criminal Justice through the SHSU-Texas Southmost College Pathway.
Sam Houston State University was recently recognized once again by the Carnegie Foundation for its commitment to community engagement, shining a light on the ways in which the university works with and for the community.
Every year, SHSU students come together to support their community through the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. This year, students helped out at SAAFE House, the Huntsville Public Library, Meals on Wheels of Walker County, Creekside Retirement Community and many other locations around the city.
